Hey man, I'd say the digitech is useful but not very ... in order to get some variation out of it, I'd sing a take with it on (to generate the harmony), keep that harmony, and then re-sing the same vocal with subtle differences in the melody (with digitech off) .. that way you could mix them and get something useful. Ah heck, just sing it yourself and forget the digitech.
