It is a big difference.

@myschoolhome No, 1% is only for rape and incest.3,3% risk for fetal health and 2,8% risk for mothers health.So all in all 7,1%. And the needs are very real, for mother:Heart diseases,Severe rise in blood pressure,Uncontrolled vomiting during pregnancy,Cervical/ breast cancer,Diabetes mellitus with eye complication(retinopathy),Epilepsy,Psychiatric illness.

@MademoisellleMollie I spoke with an Obstetrician who over the course of his career delivered over 20,000 babies and never once had to do an abortion to save a mother's life. It is true that at times he would have to induce labor early (for example in severe eclampsia (high blood pressure) ) and the baby sometimes lived or died but the intent was never to kill the child. It is a big difference.

@markinsk777 A friend of mine had an abortion at 20 weeks because her Leukemia was acting up. Both would have died otherwise. They aborted by inducing labor but not all women are in the shape of going through labor. He lived for 3 hours and died in his parents arms.

@bonzoscarpetcleaning That IS an abortion and done for health reasons!They know the baby wont live when they induce.Whether she had done something wrong or not is irrelevant.In my country past 18 weeks you only do for health reasons.In the US past 24 weeks you induce labor unless the woman is not in shape to go through labor and then you have a surgical abortion.A fetus only get "mutilated" because he's too big to come out.The other option would be dangerous C-section to take out a dead fetus.

Yes there is illness related to pregnancy, women with serious heart conditions can't have children because of the strain it puts on their hearts. I would like to see this being addressed alongside the pro-life argument as it is a reason for having an abortion.

I don't believe in abortion as a contraception and think it is wrong when a woman uses it in this way, but if a woman has been raped or can't have children because of medical reasons then i don't believe anyone has the right to turn around and say no.

@myschoolhome Yes, they have a leg to stand on: PP has the medical records (required by federal law) showing that on the day she says she "assisted" in the procedure - no such procedure occurred. But I'm sure you'll respond with "they altered the document"; that would only be proven if their copy didn't match the copy ALREADY SENT to the feds.

Not a fan of Fox News, but this is a compelling testimonial. People emotionally may not know what "abortion" is unless they do see it this way. Maybe the clinich shouldn't be allowed to speed the plow so to speak; maybe each volunteer or staff should have to be exposed to this kind of experience so that only the hardest will stay on. The trouble is this lady didn't look into it fearlessly enough; she accepted what she was told.

I think if young girls are shown in vitro films of beautiful babies developing in the womb, and by the age of 11 or 12, shown graphic abortion videos of infants' tiny ravaged bodies, it will prepare their hearts and consciences to turn against this evil practice. Compassion must be shown the mothers and workers, too, because most are told it's a ball of cells, about the size of an olive, and they don't see the remains, or get post-op grief counseling. And they do suffer.
