  • 277 ?? hell his bowel movements were atleast 150

  • He wasn't 7'7''. 277 is small for even 7 feet!

  • If he weighed 277lbs, he'd be skinnier than Rik Smits from the Indiana Pacers. This guy was definatly pushin' close to 500lbs.

  • The third tallest man in professional wrestling of all time, only matched by Giant Gonzales and Paul Bunyan!

  • ANDY!

  • I met him in the mid 1990s, very nice guy, huge nice guy that is. It is a shame he's dead. RIP.

  • David and golith

  • i just discovered this video, what is the name of this song?

  • Big John Harris vs Great Khali?

  • 277 pounds....lol

  • Lance meant to say 477.

  • Hwas also known as Johnny Walking Tall in Southwest Champ. Wrestling and Little John in World Class.

  • This song is awesome. He looks way more than 277. That's not even that heavy. He looks more like 400lbs.

  • I remember him from Pee Wee's Big Adventure movie. The guy is a giant beast. This clip was supercool. Did that interviewer say that John was only 277 pounds? I listened to that part three times and that's what I heard. How the fuck is that possible? He must weigh a shitload more than that regardless of how much over 7 ft. he actually is. Yup!!

  • The PWI magazines listed him at 461 pounds in 1987. Lance probally meant to say 477. I believe that the AWA used to bill him at 550 or more during this time. He was legit 7' 3".

  • Thanks for the info on that. I thought it must have been a slip up for the interviewer to say such a light weight. That's more like it! No doubt Big John had some inches over 7 feet and the massive weight to go with it.

  • i swear this dude looks like he is even taller than 7'7"..i thought he was on a step talking to lance at first until they pulled the shot out wider..the best part of this video is jarrett and tojo hanging out with him at his house in their wrestling gear like they wear it every where they go...haha...i guess they thought the fans wouldnt recognize them in street clothes and realize this guy is good people cause he "hangs out" with jarrett and tojo all the time when they arent wrestling...haha

  • how long did he wrestle

  • Best interview in the business.

  • Can you imagine a tag team of Big John Harris and Plowboy Frazier?

  • I never understood why Vince never brought him in to be one of Hillbilly Jim's relatives. Its not like Junior or Luke were great workers. lol. I guess that he just didn't want anyone around taller than Andre? That match would have drew, but someone has to take some bumps.

  • He did work in the WWF as Trapper John, but I believe was never on TV. I'm not sure on the year....

  • @Cobra37061 Andre was short as shit. Like 6'11. This guy is like 7 foot 3 legit.

  • keep'em comin gshea...awesome

  • this is incredible! what's the timeframe on this?

  • I don't know. Lance had to be between 5'10" and 6'0". And this guy was well over a foot taller. I'd give him at least 7'4 minimum.

  • Wow, this is RARE footage!

I would say that John Harris/Silo Sam is the second tallest man in the history wrestling, next to 7'6" Giant Gonzalez/El Gigante.

They billed Harris between 7'7" & 7'8" in Memphis, World Class & the AWA. He had to be 7'2" or more...

  • Max palmer was taller than him so may be third.

  • Harris & Palmer are both listed at exactly 7' 3" legit, so they are TIED at second. Gonzalez is listed at 7' 7.25".

I almost forgot about Max Palmer aka Paul Bunyan since he retired in 1963.

  • guinness says palmer was 7ft 7 legit though, he was billed at 8ft 3 in wrestling

  • Was this the same guy in the Pee Wee Herman Movie?

  • Yup.
