Josh is such an underrated cast member. Kevin was great as Tom Servo. He sang! But Josh is a very fun man as well. And of course, Joel is the best at deadpan. He'd put Ben Stein to shame.

That's true, I suppose. Still, the voice he used on MST3K was the same speaking voice he had in his standup before the show and at least one TV appearance I've seen of him afterwards, so I'd assumed it was his regular voice. Of course, a voice can change drastically in thirteen years.
