  • @0:18 IS IT THE GUY FROM "LIVIN PROOF" ???

  • Hardest song ever...... Ewings too

  • I like how in the begining the Dude Sternom pokes the Guy on the Block when he pulls up in the convertable

  • THIS ..is fucking rap man ..

  • Once the 90's ended shit just died. Hard to find good music now in days.

  • See I don't care about dissin todays music...all I do is go put on my starter cap, carhart jacket, kani jeans and timbo's, and dust off my cross colors shirt put on you-tube and I'm there again......IF ONLY FOR A MOMENT

  • Dj Premiere was a risk taker, a pioneer,& without question the greatest analog dj & hip hop producer of all time. Peace Guru. Beats & Rhymes yall!!! Why is it so hard for them to understand?

  • dj premier looks cute here, now he looks like a fuckin retard

  • the first video that i saw Lil Dap ..b4 goup home

  • 5.0 hatch at 2:33 yes!

  • Young Un's watching this need to understand something...Today it's way too easy to be a rapper..The generation before you had certain rites of passage they had to endure in order to develop the skills to have a career in hip-hop...Black men have DIED selling narcotics just to make money just to get funds to get electronics (audio equipment) so that they could make beats to rap over

The advances in technology have made it easier for anybody to get in the game..You guys have it easy...remember dat

  • In the year 3000 this will still be fresh....

  • The ewings the brooklyn starter jacket ...ahhhhh please take me back!

  • Everybody who's out right are bullsh$t artist.they in for The money, not to make history.

  • I like Gang Starr, don't get me wrong. It's just that there are far more people in this time that are currently still making real HIP-HOP.

  • Look up K-rino, Canibus, and Brother Ali if you wanna hear some real deep shit with limitless vocabulary.

  • whats the name of the original song/beat

  • Stick up kids is out to tax

  • A young Jeru Da Damaja ( 2:06 ) " You wanna make this into a homicide rap?"

  • i had a pair of Ewing's too. the good old days. thank god for youtube so the youth can learn.

  • this video was shot right over the willy b. L.E.S. STAND UP!... this is my joint rite here...

  • This is when hip-hop was real. The streets were hard and only for the hard. Walking the streets was a everyday challenge where you had to be ready (at all times) to throw down for yours or ready to book. These lil Wayne pop offs wouldn't last one day on my block. 111st Corona Queens!

  • @capikuu1 speak on it brah!

  • guru was one of the best lyricists, his type of rap kills all booty fire in here bass -stuff- e.g. listen to moment of truth watch?v=DO8wNnA4tSw (real stories.. can relate to)

  • what's crazy is that this one of gang's EARLIEST tracks, yet it's one of their ILLEST...!!!

  • Comment removed

  • damn this when new york was crazy

  • Give up the Rolex watch or you won't see another day!

    R.I.P. Guru

  • Harddddddddddd

  • this track is still true today

  • The Black&White video, are simply ILL

  • I like the dodgers jacket

  • It's a sample of "E.V.A." by the french composer Jean Jacques Perrey.

  • I love the whole 90s East Coast spirit Gang Starr embodies

  • music like this makes me proud to be born and bred in NYC.

  • @HOneyyBrOwnx3 Believe it or not, Guru is from Boston and Premo technically from Texas but both really repped NY!

  • Who is Gang Starr?? This is Gang Starr and they were the ones who came out with real shit like this video. ENOUGH OF THE CRAP MUSIC PLAYED ON RADIO!

  • now this is good old fashion M.C. rappin.....good job guru...R.I.P.

  • 2:26 Nice move!

  • Classic shit. miss old man Guru !

  • Music today have no subjects just punch lines....but Have y'all heard the new single "I can dig it" by the new artist sign to L.M.G records Tony Merlot, that single receive 5 mics from the Source and on MTV's top 10 new upcoming artists....

  • 26 people need to get some rep

  • gang starr, nuff said,

  • I miss thus type of music

  • wow this was 20 years ago. 20 years before this was jimi, beatles, and other great inspirational bands. 20 years is a big gap, but from 71 to 91 actually improved music, 91 to 2011 has ruined music.

  • @illahee24 that's total bullshit. This point in time has the best artists that have ever lived. Ur prolly just a bitter old guy holding on to the past.

  • @crazyman2323 age tends to give you a perspective on music that you too will develop. for you, new music is really new... for us though, it's a 3-4th generation copy or imitation of someone else who did it first or better. production has improved, sure, but casio beats, vocoders and 303 noodling are not an improvement compared to proper electronic music... hip hop used to be raw. It's really only in retrospect that music gains legitimacy as the crap is forgotten, the good stuff remains.

  • @crazyman2323 how is rap the best now? it's all about how much bass your song has, how much sfx it has, yelling "BUR", and for the most part, shitty lyrics. not saying that the lyrics aren't catchy, but artists rap about how much money they have, how many bitches they have, how much coke they sell...rap used to be about real shit! REAL SHIT. Stuff people could relate to, not stuff people fantasize about.

  • @crazyman2323 -ARE you fucking serious? Your typing skills exemplify today's music..Garbage. These 2000's mainstream pre-school rapping, bubblegum lyric producing, one dimensional lyric using,no critical thinking at all, chuck e cheese rapping, materialistic crum cake ass goons are not worthy enough to be classified ass true rappers. You're just brainwashed by todays commercialized image & what it means. Tell everyone on this video who you think are considered TRUE HIP-HOP & RAP artist in the 2000's

  • @str8outtatexas1 listen to Earl then come talk about pre-school rapping .

  • @MrCollins617 Man who in the fuck promotes and indoctrinates you young niggas today? Earl sweatshirt, tyler the creator, hopsin, swizzz & a few others all sound alike. Why is it that I along with others can tell the difference except you young clowns? This niggas not rapping,he's just putting stupid ass words together that are absolutely meaningless,substance-LESS, & redundant garbage.Yes that shit is pre-school.Same bubblegum beats. Don't ever tell a real hip-hop or rap fan that shit son. WOW!

  • @str8outtatexas1 using a bunch of stupid adjectives got a bunch of tards to like your dumb ass comment. These old ass songs all have the same lame ass, boring beats. Ok great he raps about shit that hood rats can relate to...doesn't make it more entertaining to listen to. Tunechi is the best of all time because of his clever word play using similes and homonyms. Google those big words genius. He has the best beats, the best lyrics and puts out more quantity than anybody.

  • @crazyman2323 Yeah those big words were really tough to decipher so i called in an expert. You have got to be the most brainwashed, mindless drone to ever have been shitted out of any living being. Lil wayne talks about the same shit all of today's limited vocabulary ass niggas rap about. Rapping about bloods, drank, gold, bitches, guns, cars is so fucking one dimensional it's sad. EVERY FUCKING SONG..same material. The only 9 that nigga ever used was followed by two one's. Styrofoam ass nigga's.

  • @str8outtatexas1 Jon Connor is one of the few still representing real hip hop today

  • Good Song!!!

  • money was scared so he panicked

took off his link and his rings

    and ran frantic

but Shorty said naw, pulled the trigger and stepped

it was nothin.. he did it just to get a rep

  • haha check how young lil dap is 1:28

  • 26 clowns dislike this video

  • yeah this joint right here went hard in the 90's... R.I.P Guru

  • Who say's hip-hop didn't save lives!!?? It help to save mine with messages like this at the tender age of 14 years old in '91. Very relevant to this day!! Even more so because there is no money out here. All these youngsters have now is a rep.

  • badass beat

  • R.I.P. GURU GANGSTARR FOREVER

  • It's not about quality it's about production cost like everything else in our world today and people like you who dont about tru skool becuase coporate labels want it that way so you have to buy pop music. Heads need to open they mind and think outside New York and the 1990's

  • 3 guys claim to have broken the guiness world record

the first guy says he has the longest fingernails

the second guy says he has the biggest ears

the third guy says he makes the best music

they all go to the guiness world record museum to check if they are right

the first guy runs out and says "yes i do have the longest fingernails!"

the second guy runs out and says "yes i do have the biggest ears!"

the third guy walks out mad and says "who the fuck is gang starr?"

  • Y'All got that money man? Huh!

The from 1988-1998 hip hop was at it's best. Black moon, Epmd, A tribe called quest, Biggie, Snoop, NWA, Outkast, too short you had so many quality artist.

I don't even listen rap anymore.

  • @QualityControlTV you're so damn right about the golden era of rap music......I wish I was born in the 80s just to grow up with this kind of music......Run DMC, Rakim, Slick Rick, Public Enemy, Gang Starr and so onnnnnn. Nowadys there are just a few rapppers who keep hip hops' head above water.

  • @Oldschoolrap91 That's why you need to get out and support some underground artist. Stop looking for radio & TV to feed you. Nothing is wrong with Hip Hop, maybe RAP MUSIC, but not hip hop.

Honestly heads are spoiled. Not everyone can sound like Pete Rock or Primo in 94.

Not to mention do you release samples were rarely cleared back in the day. Do you realize how much making a album like UMC's or Midnight Marauders would cost today!?
