  • nice it's really cool

    -_-

  • These things were pretty fun, but taking the things apart was a pain in the ass.

  • do they still sell erector sets?

  • Oops didnt finish. With pully cluch for 4x4 activation.

  • Made a 4x4 utility truck with pulley.

  • Toys r us

  • is there a place where you can get that?

  • locktight will stop those nuts from coming off

  • awsome im starting tomorow but im not doin the crane yet

  • nice job they can be hard to make you get my subscribe

  • I have that set but what drives me up the wall is the little orange wheels you put in hter keep wanting to fall out! IT DRIVES ME UP THE WALL!!!

  • i have that set it took me 2 days to build. there are 2 levers in the back that control it.

  • i made that thing today, i broke it out of my closet pre-built, then demolished it and designed and made my own racecar, those things are alot of fun!

  • This is MUCH cooler than the crap Erector Set I had when I was a boy 45 years ago.

Good video as always--make more videos, Dev!

    Reid

  • i ahve the same set and a made a car powered by a plane propeller that i got from a air hog plane and it goes very fast

  • is it remote control?

  • i have the same set

  • kewl i got this and built it too, took a while because i tighhtened every thing up as much as i could, or else it falls to0 pieces as the nuts and bolts come loose

  • back on i built the other crane, the smaller Manually operated with the Crank to operate the Pulleys, it took 7 hours, but I got an early start around 11 AM, it turned out alright for building it different than pictured in the instructions, with spare parts after i built the rover, the only hazard is i cut the string too long by about 2 inches.

  • Oh wow, i built the Mars Rover buggy thingy, it took me 5 hours, well i was building it in my dorm, and i went to grab a bite to eat, and take a break, for 1 hour, I was up at 1 AM, when my roommates were sleeping.

  • how long did it take to build?

  • It took quite a while. It was a long time ago, so I doon't remember exactly, but I think it was something like 6 hours or more. Sorry, but I don't really remember.

  • dwalker2020, just to point out, instead of attatching the hook, i think you attached the wrench.

  • I did attach the hook, but I put the wrentch on to the hook so it would be weighed down a little. Otherwise, it didn't work very well. The crane seemed to need a load on it for all of the pulleys and stuff to work correctly.

  • hmm can it still lift stuff?

  • OMG HE DID LOL

  • i have the same erection set

  • yeah i have the same set, but i was a noob so i built an easier model, the Vehicle without the motor, the one that has the Radar, that spins when you roll it.

  • me 2 lolz

  • I built this once and it should have been designed better, the damn thing didn't work!!!

  • i have the same kit,but i dont know if mecano and erector are the same?

  • Well, mecano used to be the name, but they changed it to erector (at least in the US). I am not sure if mecano is made elsewhere. They are the same, though.

  • i bought an Erector set off ebay and i made a robot its really cool

  • i made some ramdom thing with my erector set and it turned out to be a mars rover type thing!!!!

  • planbskater621, is the one when you roll it the radar spins.

  • You must be a good mechanic and engineer. I wonder if you could get some lock washers at the hardware store to keep the bolts from coming loose so often.

  • amk senın

  • Devin, the tiniest bit of green, wicking-grade LockTite should solve your nut loosening problem.

So would bit of nail polish (clear) applied to the thread at assembly.

You're excellent in your documentary work.

  • I should use locktite, but it would take so long to do it to every bolt. Does nail polish work as a locktite replacement? Thanks!

  • how much was it

  • amazing !!

  • there was this 1 time at band camp!

  • i made tht, but i tore it down, i make alot of pulling tractors and dragsters outta tht, and a quik suggestion, the stand tht it sits on, the legs, low them down and let the base of the crane almost touches the ground, then it can hold alot more weight without falling down, u have to watch the belts tho, theyll get stretched out and the belt wont catch the gears. Nice job tho

  • The nuts and bolts shouldnt come loose, just tighten them up real tight.

  • I took it apart shortly after building it...

I had other things to try and build!
