MD11, is a beautiful airplane, and much better then some Airbus ! And Crashes ? Boeing 737 or 747, has much more crashes than MD11....

@SparklingMountain But i guess winglets won't help you with an airplane that just sucks. Its not just the engines... DC10 as well as the MD11 have a history full of crashes and incidences. And its not poor maintainance im talking about. Its poor design and alot of failures throughout the planes. DC10 were literally "falling from the skies"

@davebabyhhh the md11 doesnt have flight engineers,,thats the third pilot that in almost every flight of more than 8 hours need to have so the captain can rest

Its so cool watching these approach KIND during the day. FedEx flies these and DC-10's in and out of Indy like its going out of style. And the sound they make when they depart. Can't mistake it, even if you don't see it.

I Live in Tn and pull often for FedEx out of thier main terminal at memphis. Seeing a lot of the DC-10 and MD-11 going away too. Been seeing a bunch of refitted 757 and A320's.

Btw dycesspotter, the 777 engines arent just way bigger than the a330's but they are the largest and most powerful engines ever made :)

no the engines on the md-11 are quite big, the airliner which has small looking engines is the A-330. its meant to compete with the 777 but its engines are way smaller

biman bangledash stil use some dc10, world airways have both,and klm use the md11, most of the aircraft are use for cargo these days
