However, i'm still wondering about two things:

1. where came (pre-DNA) duplicating mechanisms into being? some weird forms of minerals?

2. what made apes become humanoid? a sudden change in climate?

i'd say so, sure that humans could only develop in a Savanah-like environment where they had to scan the horizon, they could probably never have evolved in a dense forest with no wide range of vision

To knock out a ten minute vid on the fly about evolution and have it even comphrehensible is pretty impressive. I spoke of the exponential growth of technology and we saw the same thing with life during the Cambrian Explosion (540mill yrs ago) when most of the major groups of complex animals appeared almost overnight (relatively speaking of course).
