  • Um, I'm not sure what you mean jiju.

  • funny 'baptism'. is this Holy Baptism.y these people hold there nose closed. is Jesus did that.

  • Isn't baptism supposed to be willing? Is this an example of white man's burden?

  • This sister sought baptism. The Aymara people do not know how to swim and most have never been fully immersed in water before. There are times when we are willing and want to do things yet remain scared. For instance, If I had to have some major surgery, I would want it and will it but still may experience fear due to the procedure itself.

All men and women, no matter what color carry a burden that can only be lifted by Jesus Christ.

  • well at least she is wearing white(correct clothing) rather than blue jeans and a t-shirt.

  • Pilottim,

You're kidding about the white clothing right? Just in case your not, God can care less what clothing you are baptized in.

  • so I can be baptized in a pink lace teddy? I think we should respect his sacred ordinances and his sacred house, not all clothing is appropriate for sacred things. This a teaching from God that originates in the Old Testament. I mean this has been around a long time.

  • @pilottim79 God doesnt approve of your attachment to material things, such as clothing.

  • @pilottim79

where in the Bible does God say: You shall not wear jeans and a T-shirt?

  • @pilottim79 god doesnt care about the jeans and the shirt of the guy at moment ... or ever.. like tingsry said where in the bible does it say that

  • omg...my pastor had to do the same thing, i couldnt even hold my breath and kept grabbing on to him in fear of water... um..i was 13 =S

  • I don't think it matters. God is not going to deny her left arm from getting into Heaven because it wasn't immersed. That'd be a stupid thing to believe. Besides, water baptism IS NOT required to make it into Heaven. It symbolizes your newfound faith in Christ, but God did not say "get immersed in water or be damned to hell for refusing to do so."

  • A sharing :)

There is a video called :

Jesus Christ blood visible in water baptism (on youtube),

thought you might be interested to take a look.

Please also take a look at the info.

    God bless :)

  • Leave Christians alone, ye atheist dogs...

  • Leave people alone, ye christian dogs..

  • I thought they were going to break the little lady! I know God was looking out for His daughter, he wouldn't have allowed that to happen! ;-)

  • She was immersed. That brings up a question, let say she was not fully immersed; her arm was sticking out or something, Would her baptism be invalid?

  • No,I believe the baptism was valid.

In the Bible there is nowhere said how many percent of the body that has to be immersed, and in what direction (forward or backward).

Maybe it was even done upside down? :D

I wonder how they do the batizm in the desert of Sahara? :D

  • Well, I would say that proper baptism is by immersing the body in the water. I am a Baptist after all! But you are right, the Bible does not say if it was forward, backward or even upside down.

  • yes, but the word baptize comes from greek, meaning to immerse in water. Therefore the definition of the word implies fully under water. If we use Christ as an example, in the Bible he traveled to a river where he could be immersed. Other wise he wouldn't have walked the 30 so miles to the river Jordan if a splash on the forehead would have done.

  • I know what baptism signifies. I'm not sure if you are saying that the woman baptized had half her body sticking out but if you look she was immersed fully. Is that what you were referring to?

  • What an interesting cult practice.

I don't get the point, but never the less, interesting.

  • Read the New Testament and then you'll get the point.

  • Well, you see, I have.

The reason why I worded it like that was to express how it looks from the outside.

    Just like any other cult.

Actually I was raised quite Christian and by learning about religion I became very interested in all religion.

The more you learn about other religions along with your own, and the reasons why others don't believe what you do.

You begin to realize that we've all been fooled by our own selfish desires.

  • Yeah, you're right. Baptizing a woman who has dedicated her life to Jesus Christ is real selfish of me. May the Lord forgive me for being obedient to the Great Commission found in Matthew 28:19

  • :/

You missed what I was meaning by selfish.

I was meaning that a large motivating factor for people to believe is the idea of eternal life.

So your saying that giving ones life to Christ is a sacrifice. From that view you would be given eternal life in exchange, I see that as mighty selfish exchange.

  • Ok, I understand. I see where you're coming from. But true conversion is a change in the heart where at one point you had no desire or love for God, then God awakens the soul spiritually. Suddenly, God and Jesus become an all encompassing part of your life. You love God, desire God, want to please God. The true believer's reward is God Himself, not heaven. Heaven without God is not a place I'd want to be. I only desire heaven because that is where my Lord is.

  • And if we are honest with ourselves, we are all selfish. I assume that you work. I also assume that you give a certain portion of your life in exchange for a paycheck. I challenge you to go to your boss and say, "In order to not be selfish, I will now work for you for free".

I wouldn't even try to convince you that all my motives are 100% pure. I wouldn't be human.

Psalm 14:3 All have turned away; all alike have become corrupt. There is no one who does good, not even one.

  • "Suddenly, God and Jesus become an all encompassing part of your life."

Well of coarse if you believe thats how you will be able to live forever, it would become so important.

    "we are all selfish"

Yes, and thats why people truly believe in God is because they don't like the thought of a naturalistic universe. The thought that we only exist for a short time, and because of that those who come after us are more important.

Selfishness and easy answers are the origin of the desire for God.

  • "Psalm 14:3 All have turned away; all alike have become corrupt. There is no one who does good, not even one."

    Bible verses time.

"There is no one who does good, not even one."

So the most selfless kind person wouldn't be good? Wow you have some pretty high standards, with a bar set that high how can anyone be so confident to say that they will be with God.

Also saying that makes it so the act of kindness becomes very hollow.

    Meaningless and heartless.

  • baby she was not gone go with out a fight!

    lol

  • fortunately lack of grace in execution does not negate worth! (At least you laughed!)
