person driving the car should have their license taken its open feilds and the lights and gates were obviously working and they dewcided to run and try and beat the train and the train obviously won
Idiots will never learn. Those flashing lights and gates are there for a reason. I'm sure that stack train was roaring by at 60mph so this person is damned lucky to be alive.
It`s not like the trains "sneak up" on them. The old saying....he who is biggest, usually wins, really rings true when talking train vs "whatever" crashes. I have yet to respond to a train vs whatever crash, but they do happen once and a while around here. Usually end up fatals. The last we had was Dec 2007, triple fatal if I remember right. The carload of drunks hit of all things, the "Santa train, full of elementary aged kids...sigh...
Nice video. We have a large railroad system that runs through a part of our response box, but fortunately, not a lot of accidents involving trains. All in all. Nice work. I really enjoy your videos!
Since moving here I have heard and been to more train accidents than in my whole life and I have only lived here 2 years, kind of insane if you ask me. Thanks for the comment and check back for last nights fire

Gary has a rural part of the city??

There are a few parts of Gary that are kind of rural and there are a couple of farms still standing. Hard to believe in such a densely populated area

That person was darn lucky!! Nice footage, esp the tv news like pan from the PD to the gates at the beginning.
