what sort of temps are we looking at here? i was thinking of a ceramic coating on my rs manifold, that comes at a cost of around £250, but also seen there is almost the same benefit using the heat proof strip wrapping it around
Nice. My mate has the GT26something (GT25 fitment with GT28 internals) and his manifold does the same. The two primaries feeding into that secondary cause it to go really hot. Hope the person that bought your car has stuck a heatshield on that because it will start to discolour the bonnet. Super temps!!
a gt25 with 28 internals is just a hybrid gt25. the two into one is the only downside of that manifold, athough it didnt stop high power and torque figures. the person who bought the car bought it standard (almost) it can be bad putting a heat shield on it because the tubes expand under heat and need the freedom to move. a heat sheld stops this and has been know to cause the primary welds to crack of heatsheld lugs to snap off.
what i did was the underside of the bonnet was covered in foil tape to reflect the heat. i was going to fit a bonnet vent for cooling but never got round to it. other than that you can wrap them but i thought that looked naff or do what i was going to to, get it ceramic coated, although these still glow. even on the PD ones. the bonnet used to get so hot you could cook an egg on it
we got a focus turbo as standard although it had a crap manifold on it due to manufacturing reasons. so there are quite a few aftermarket ones in the uk to solve this.
sadly the car has gone now, house came onto the scene, didnt really see the need to ceramic coat it, i wasnt losing performance, it ran 325bhp and 350lbs/ft on a standard turbo so couldnt complain
good power figures there am running 300bhp, the coating just helps keep the engine cooler, also keep the heat in and the gases flow quicker, this giving more power, shame you aint got it anymore
Why dont u touch it faggggggg!!!!!!

Don't bother with the heat wrap, not much of a drop in temp. Ceramic is the way to go, you will notice a different in under bonnet temps.
