With the right pose and angle, even the ugliest model based on your preference would look amazingly beautiful. It's just a matter of finding the best photogenic angle.

Head shots, close-ups, 3/4 view - It doesn't matter how you do it. What matter is how you bring out your model's character. That's why you got her commissioned for the project on the first place, isn't it?

Yes you can still be a model. In fashion modeling, there's a room for anybody - as there's always a dress that would fit you best to model on. What 's important is your attitude towards your career.

Here's a tip: try fitting dresses and look in front of the mirror. If you like what you see, chances are clients will be pleased in your modeling.

If you opt to be a commercial model, character portrayal is the key. Learn acting, good blocking, and your best photogenic angle.

TIP #1: First, learn the basics of modeling - catwalks, models photography, etc. Enroll in workshops. Some workshops provide contact agencies for projects as soon as you received your certificate.

Look for casting calls and go-sees in your area. Sending online portfolio is tricky - be sure that you find the right agencies. Agencies that are legal provide waivers for their and your protection against exploitation, but read the terms before you sign. A contract should be beneficial, two-way.

TIP #2: Avoid agencies that ask too much money prior to giving you projects. You may not know it, but some of these agencies exists. They let you pay for tarpaulin, photo shoots and other services. Be sure you know the purpose of what you payed for. Ask them politely about the cost and purpose of such materials

If you are looking for someone to shoot your photos - look for professional photographers who would do exchange deals. Most photoshoots under "trade for prints" (TFP) are free of charge.

TIP #3: Join local beauty pageants. These provides lots of opportunities and contacts for you. You can start with your school pageant, or Mall's Model search.

Finally, going back to casting calls and go-sees - if you were called for in a particular project - be prepared. Most photoshoots are on the go. If they would be held outdoors, bring snacks and drinks. Best photo can be achieved if the model is relaxed and comfortable. Don't forget your make-up and extra outfit. Have contingency plans.

COMMISION - most casting and 3rd party agencies earn their income by 20% - 30% commission cut from the total payment by their clients. Sometimes, they get it from the models fee. So if you'll be payed S1,000 for example as your talent fee, expect that agencies would get their commission from that amount. You're lucky if you'll be directly hired by a company to model their product as they will be paying you in full without commission cuts. But that's rare.

I'm a model. An alternative model. I'm not extremely thin. I'm average. There are different types of modeling so don't think all models are pressuring people to be thin. Sometimes its to shy beauty in the rest of the world also.

the second pose is wrong. you never put ur arms straight up to the camera because of armpits. the camera doesnt want ur armpits. it wants ur face & angles. its fine to put ur arms up, however you angle your body.
