Miami did not "handle" FSU in 2000 .... why you think they call em "Wide Right I, II, III" .... I'll give ya 2001 ... Miami straight diesel in 2001 ... sickest team i've seen ... but in 2000, y'all had to put it all on the line to win that ... don't say ya didn't ....
he decided to go to the NBA b/c he would have a longer career in the NBA playing point guard than playing QB in the nfl especially his style of play which included a lot of running and would of ended up in a lot of hurting for him.
It's weird how Peter Warrick was the best player in FSU history other than Charlie and yet he sucks in the NFL! He sucks so bad now I don'tknow where he is or if he's retired! Another weird thing is that Charlie Ward played in the NBA after he won the heisman and the national title! I still don't get it but whatever at least he doesn't suck like Peter does now!
Sure that OU team was a good one. But Miami absolutely handled FSU that year [despite FSU's late comeback]. IMO that '00 UM team was better than the 01 UM team. With stars like Santana Moss, Reggie Wayne, Bubba Franks, Dan Morgan and Al Blades as seniors how could they not be considered better. Im not saying UM would've stem rolled OU, but we definitely had enough firepower to win.
Dude how could you seriously say that they werent even close? Just look at the schedule: They're only lost was the 2nd game of the season to UW that finished #3 in the polls and had Marcus Tuliasesopo. They beat the last good FSU team with Chris Weinke. They Dominated Va Tech [With Mike Vick] 41-21.They clobbered 5th ranked Florida in the Sugar Bowl 37-20. And they had 4 players drafted in the 1st round. To say they werent even close is crazy. But I'd like to know why you think that.
Sure there were good players on that team but I mean D.J. Williams, Frank Gore, Jeremy Shockey, Phil Buchannon, Johnathon Vilma all blew up in 2001, not to mention Andre Johnson and Clinton Portis. They gave up 5 passing TDs all year and were sacked just 4 times while sacking the opponent 39 times. The average score was 43-9. They also only gave up 7 rushing TDs that's 12 TDs in an entire season. Those stats don't include that joke of a rose bowl against Nebraska.
Awesome

no superstar? how'd they do the next year without him?

If you're talking about FSU without Warrick they went to the title game and laid an egg

They shouldn't have even been there, that was supposed to be Miami's 5th National Title.

I don't think UM woulda definetly beat OU, that Oklahoma team was no joke and UM wasn't quite as good in 2000 as they were in 2001

The 01 team had some the best Canes ever in their junior and senoir years. I don't think the 00 tean was even close

If Bobby Bowden had class, Warrick would have been suspended for his stealing and would never have played in this game.

He was suspended at the beginning of the year, and Florida State would have won anyways, Va Tech was overmatched
