  • 4:24 You said it George.

  • 240p... we meet again

  • Who could have predicted the travesty it would become?

  • oh i hope he does 9...... so he can redeem himself from the pre quals and use the original actors harrison, hammil, etc.............

  • I never understood that line 4:45 Quin gon says "Im taking these people to coruscant" then the droid asks where are you going, and he says AGAIN "to coruscant" huh?? completely redundant and ODD dialogue

  • Yea you sucked in it Ewan, but it wasn't your fault

  • Revenge of the Sith was so refreshing because it was the prequels the other 2 were rather pojntless and stiff .2 was much better still not quite theyre. 3 had the epic tragic drama which played out really well and it was a great cinema experience and there was zero hype.

  • this film was akward as fuck it was liek a pixar flick. There was no threat but there was huge potential for a sweeping epic saga. It all came across as rather stiff and boring. It quite simply was really painfully dull. Ok the 3 way lighstabers were amazing. But the film wasn't the sum of it's parts and i feel Lucas pussyed out on making a great movie in favour of the merchandise deals with made way more money than the flick.

  • Repeatedly press 1 for dancing droids :D

  • 8:31 - It seems surprising that for this documentary, Lucas would have brunch with Francis Ford Coppola, and Saul Zaentz. I mean didn't Zaentz stop him from making a movie version of The Lord of the Rings? Imagine what that might have been like, if he was able to make a film version of that before Peter Jackson.

  • I really wish that the characters in Stars Wars would STOP ****ING RECYCLING DIALOGUE!

Next twat who says "I have a bad feeling about this"...I WILL ****ING STAB THEM WITH A SPOON!

but yeah, I saw this on TV back in the day. ^_^

  • George Lucas turned bad he gave us The Phantom Menace with Jar Jar Binks! LOL

  • 'the phantom menace' such a disappiontment

  • Who's the narrator at 2:15? Could that be the stentorian voice of William Conrad?

Thank you for this. Just when I think I've seen all the informative specials about "Star Wars," I run across something else good like this special.

  • does anyone know where i can download a copy of , the word the image and the gun from 1991 with don delillo ?

  • I remember seeing this. I was SO excite!

Then I saw "Phantom Menace" :[

  • What a hypocrite! Kenobi smokes death sticks 7:16

  • Ha poor R2-D2 must have had his jets removed, he needed a little help up the steps at 2:11

  • ewan was perfect for Obi wan the perfect casting. made the films.

  • the phantom menace is under-appreciated IMO it was way better than other sci-fi fare released in that year, dare I say even The Matrix but the matrix had the advantage of being a fresh original idea. episodes 4,5,6 are still better than the prequels though untouchable

  • Ewan ..is just too cool....the scene of him in costume with the cig awesome (very james dean jedi lol)

  • Return of the Jedi, widely considered by most Star Wars fans to be the worst Star Wars movie until they were proved SEVERELY wrong two decades later

  • Why doesn't this have more views? Come on people!

  • 2 bad teh prequels turned out 2 B (4 teh most part) a complete load of rubbish :'(

  • Episode 1 was honestly one of my top 3 favorite star wars and my favorite prequel.

  • this is my least favorite star wars movie

  • but it is my most favorite

  • And my fourth favourite

  • yes, thanks very much, i totally missed this on TV.....

  • So what happened too the idea of 9 parts ?

  • @nicoolio19 erm... why would they make a sequel trilogy to the classic trilogy... and place it inbetween the prequel and the classic?

that would make it just another prequel trilogy... and the clone wars took place BEFORE episode IV...

  • @hcvang I made this comment 1 year ago with little knowledge of what was going to happen. I know differently now alright?

  • @valiswaverider The idea of 9 parts would be cobined \down to 5. But If George Lucas did episodes 7, 8, and 9, they'd would be relesed in 1986, 1989 (with George not doing Indy 3), and 1992.

  • @valiswaverider that's what I want to know... I want the last 3 episodes. I want to see Luke, Leia and Han again, god damn it!

  • @valiswaverider

the whole point was to tell the story of darth vader so... I would say darth vader dieing :p

  • @valiswaverider Return of the Jedi came 1983 and Ep.1 came 1999...That makes it about 15 years left for the last trilogy to come

  • @valiswaverider: The following are the STAR WARS sequels:

Full Movie Title: Star Wars Episode 7: The Hidden Circle

Theatrical Release Date: Thursday, 20 May 2021

Full Movie Title: Star Wars Episode 8: The Republic In Crisis

Theatrical Release Date: Thursday, 23 May 2024

Full Movie Title: Star Wars Episode 9: Victory of the Force

Theatrical Release Date: Thursday, 20 May 2027

  • @slmp77 i think the post return of the jedi novels cover everyting so there's no point in making the 3rd trilogy. george lucas said the star wars movies are about anikin skywalker so they end with his death. but it would be good to see mark hamill as an old bearded jedi like obi wan in a new hope. george is apparently quitting making movies. maybe he'll get bored in 10 years and decide to do more.

  • thanks for this.
