This is a why if you have ever noticed the oil guage shoots right to the middle of the guage and stays put reguardless of temp or RPM. If you have ever owned a vehicle with a real oil psi guage you can easily see the difference it how it reacts compared to the idiot. In 04, they removed the oil/volt guage in the ranger period. 03 to about 96 they used the idiot guage, also there is a way you can make the idoit guage a rear guage by removing a resistor and putting in a an actual sending unit
