"Feels good to have u back again but I know that 1day baby its really gonna grow" Where r these lyrics beautiful Robert Anthony Plant??/ Its ok sing it how u want either way its BRILLIANT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So despite all of the members of Led Zeppelin being English, they're American in your book because sales in your country helped to set them up as a successful band.
Well England helped to set up the USA as a successful country, and in my book that makes America England. So they're STILL an English band.
Jesus Christ you have got to be kidding me, there are people out there who actually think Led Zeppelin was an American band? Yes they got big here in America but they were from England. Please people do your research before you run on with comments.
@7Maggot4life actually if we want to get picky they're from the Midlands (wolvo, stourbridge, worcestershire etcc) not London and definitely NOT American ha.
Guys com'on. Mick Jagger thinks he is a bad boy. He is a PLASTIC BARBIE compare to Robert P. No one will ever be darker than Led Z. EVER !!! And if you ever try--make shure you are 30 years ahead of time. Heavy metal boys of our time--you are all children of Led Z. Sorry !!!
When you listen to the interplay of all their genius - Robert's screaming, JPJ's dynamics and subtle counter-melodies, Bonham's THUNDER, and Jimmy's intricate emotions... no other band even comes CLOSE! Zeppelin redefined what was possible. They weren't just ahead of their time... they were messengers, they were time travelers sent back to make the world a better place!
@SoadifiedCod I think the comment is interesting though...Wouldn't you agree that the USA gave Zeppelin the fame and fortune they would go on to claim? Could they have achieved the legendary status they enjoy without the airplay they received here in the states? Not arguing, just asking the question. I know that these men come from England, but I never really considered them part of the british invasion. I wonder why that is and if others have that same experience?
@Phenomenon58 you had a head start when it comes to rock because us Americans were too racist to see the beauty in the music of our black blues musicians. you guys saw what we couldn't and now the world has zeppelin.
@jdc336 bro there from london just becuz your bloody tee shirt says usa dont mean zeppelin is from the usa and dont thank usa for shit true old school rock bands come from england
Jimmy's playing is excellent here? Stop trying to compare it to the studio version, he did it like that, Because he wanted to.. Ps. I considered buying a Plexi reissue just for this tone..
All u guys r stupid, this sounds kickass Imo. But the "Horrible" sound ur hearing when he is fingerpicking is called gain. He has his amp on the gain channel so that the harder "rock" part of the song sounds more ballsy. The sound is not based on his tuning, playing, or his tele. Peace...
@CCRWoodstock He'd just switch the channels with a foot pedal then. It's natural tube overdrive. And yeah, absolutely nothing horrible about it. Personally, tubes being overdriven creates my favorite sounds in rock.
@collinthebutthead...the only reason I played that horrible song was cause this stupid bitch wanted me to play it. Zeppelin was horrible live...if u dont realize that u really are a colon butthead freak!
@JASONCALEDONIA Whatever you say man! Too bad your a fucking pussy and lets bitches push you around and tell you what to do. Your a fucking loser, troll and a hypocrite. Led Zeppelin is a amazing, and even tho Jimmy Page maybe wasn't the most technically proficient guitarist and he was undoubtedly one of the most innovative guitarist ever. and plus why are you watching videos of bands you don't even like? If you don't like them its cool but dont be a dick putting down people's music.
Yes, Jimmy played very bad here, and the guitar was out of tune...indisputable! Of course and probably just to counter, one of the best recorded Plant recordings, hehe! Can't win 'em all?! :)
@JASONCALEDONIA sure page's telecaster sounded bad, but they're not horrible. Go shove Ur fuckin' pussy up Ur dad cuz Ur 1 bitch hating asshole!!! Long Live Led Zeppelin!!!!!
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Wow if u cant hear how lousey page is playing u need to get your hearing checked! Zeppelin influenced some of the worst sounding bands ever because they were horrible themselves.
@JASONCALEDONIA You have no idea what you're talking about. This band is timeless and legendary. Each time I hear their music, I feel elated. You need to get a hearing aid!
@JASONCALEDONIA Not as lousey as your mom was last night. I fuckin hate people like you, not knowing what your talking about and just blurting out shit. Jimmy Page playing lousey? It's 1969, how good of a fucking amp do you think there was back then? The amp was only like 20 years into the making. Led Zeppelin is THE Rock band of all time and no band could ever do half of what they did. Next time you want to post something, make sure it actually makes fuckin sense shit bird.
@axlslash808z I agree completely about Pagey's playing not being lousy. But some of the amps of that era were excellent even by today's standards. The one he used here was what he could afford + wasn't ideal for the area of performance. But sort of like the guitars...vintage is sometimes the best. Marshall 1959 for instance is my dream amp. The problem, if there is one, is the video recordings of these performances.
@willou901 Oh yeah totally, i mean i would love to have a vintage amp as well but yeah the amp here might not have been ideal, plus this is when Led Zeppelin just started out, they didn't become as big as they were after #2 or #3 ( album ). Later on in their career, Jimmy could afford whatever he wanted, right at this vid's moment though, is what he had.
@axlslash808z Yeah! He only had that Tele because the Yardbirds owned the guitar. Beck left it to Page because he had to, as it wasn't technically his. And you're right, they hit fame with the second album and because of their live shows, definitely no thanks to the critics or radio support. Zep was anything but hype.
I dig this. It's before Jimmy Page started acting overly feminine on stage. I agree he's a great artist, I'm just saying, this performance is awesome.
all those "stars" and "hits" that are being listened today seem so microscopically small and miserable when you are in Led Zep world... Jessus, what wrong with the world, huh? why did we deserve what we have today, and why the past never comes back?..
@crimsonson86 oh, no, my friend! I listen to everything. othewrise, why would compare the new and the old ones? I'd happily agree that some bands today are better than others. But - am trying to be very objective - none of them comes any close to mega-stars of 60-70s. It's been 40-50 years now that Led Zep, Purple, Stones, The Doors and others are still loved. Do you really belive that any of the today's performers would still be popular in 2060?
@ShreyasDandekar yeah well i think it's in the going to california at earl's court video there's a girl waving a scarf saying 'led zepplin'. crappy band name, awesome band
@fuckamericanidiot Yeah. And that girl waving "LED ZEPPLIN" can also be seen in 1997 promo video of Whole Lotta Love. yes. So sometimes the spelling is officially mistaken or something.
Thanks Robert Anthony Plant.... for being my friend when it was a dark moment in my life....In Memory of my best friend and lover, James Michael Clarke,
11 months ago, March 19, 1020 RIP
Robert you still sound this good today, you never change!
•*¨*•.¸¸♥¸¸.•*¨* Life is Love is Life *¨*•.¸¸♥¸¸.•*¨*•
Sorry for you loss, it's good to see such beautiful music helps you go through tough times... But you did scare the living hell out of me, I saw Plant and RIP and came to premature conclusions...
Lol it's the first time i see Robert Plant young. I think he hasn't changed, now he doesn't seem so older, and his voice is still Wonderfull, and full of emotions!
that year a man was sent on the moon , ford mustang 1969 was made :) , a song Fortunate Son from Creedence clearwater revival was made .....so yeah that year is THE BEST :))))
don't get me wrong, jimmy page is fuckin unreal, but its so cool to watch these early videos and see how he progressed as a songwriter and guitarist. you can hear a few bad notes and mistakes by him in these early vids but as the years went on he just exploded with more and more talent. if you actually watch him play guitar nowadays he's better then back then . thats a true musician, always topping themselves
omg i luv ledzep so much~my friends love gaga jb etc n they keep sayin' that theyre so great, that make me so sick, i was born in a wrong time,i wish i was born in 50s so i can huv ledzep deep purple etc in 60s n 70s n michael jackson in 80s n 90s
@Kennyiaf Although, one of them does like led zep, so it's cool that I can relate to her in a musical way :) I mean, i'm not going to go into depth with this, but the rest of my friends are great, they just don't have great taste in music..
I was soooooo born too late. This is what needs to be on radio, video channels and on TV. But we get stuck with Gaga and Bieber. And if you wanna rock, you gotta listen to most of the shitty cookie cutter bands that are foisted on the rock stations.
@bondmaster420 i agree with you, i was born early 90's . when iwas 5 i bought my first cd and it was a beatles album. i think i was the only 10 year old at my elementary school that loved and had every zeppelin album lol. its not like music today sucks, all the popular music today sucks. there are still good bands but you have to really do a lot of research and digging to find them which is unfortunate
I think this song is so sad... and I love it !

Lol it's the first time i see Robert Plant young. I think he hasn't changed, now he doesn't seem so older, and his voice is still Wonderfull, and full of emotions!

don't get me wrong, jimmy page is fuckin unreal, but its so cool to watch these early videos and see how he progressed as a songwriter and guitarist. you can hear a few bad notes and mistakes by him in these early vids but as the years went on he just exploded with more and more talent. if you actually watch him play guitar nowadays he's better then back then . thats a true musician, always topping themselves

And if you wanna rock, you gotta listen to most of the shitty cookie cutter bands that are foisted on the rock stations.
bondmaster420 1 year ago 6
@bondmaster420 i agree with you, i was born early 90's . when iwas 5 i bought my first cd and it was a beatles album. i think i was the only 10 year old at my elementary school that loved and had every zeppelin album lol. its not like music today sucks, all the popular music today sucks. there are still good bands but you have to really do a lot of research and digging to find them which is unfortunate
