At one stage there was talk of a new show called the blood leap forward but that never happen

and now since last summer their been talk of movie just hope this move does get make and the may bee it can lead the way for a new reboot to the series

I was so sad when Quantum Leap went off the air. This is my all-time favorite show, and yes - I want to know what has happened with Sam after all these years. They should do a movie or something. There were rumblings a few years back that they were thinking of bringing it back, but with a much different cast, and that Sam would only make cameo appearances from time to time.

he didn't dring the previous episode, after he leaped and before Al the holo room lightening struck and sam and all swapped places for one episode.

@McCaler That's true, he did, but there was always a loose string. He leaped into Al's body and they traded places once, but he couldn't leave his friend trapped in the quantum accelerator. He also leaped home to his childhood once, tried to set things right and get his dad to eat better, smoke less, but that didn't go over well.

I have heard about a sequel spinoff of QL called "A Bold Leap Forward" centreing on Sammy Jo and her trying to find Sam. I think it was supposed to be a movie at first, then to be turned into a series if it was successful with ratings. So, this is more than just a compilation.

Great show. I'm watching it again on DVD (up to season 5). Knowing how the show ends, angers me; producers had no excuse for not planning a better leap-home finale episode to wrap it up properly. Many other successful shows have made very good finales, why couldn't Quantum Leap? What the hell does "never returned home" mean? Very lame.

I would love to see a new telemovie, showing Sam's return, receipt of Nobel Peace Prize and retirement with family - but I doubt that will ever happen. Pity.

In a few years computer animation will be so realistic and so cheap and so easily done People will be doing absolutely realistic Quantum Leap and Classic Trek episodes, etc on their home computers! Paramount and the powers that be won't like it, but they won't be able to do much to stop it. In fact to stop it would be to harm the most loyal fans & the ones who buy the most merchandise so in many cases they will let it exist.

Sam leapt into Abigail's father first, then he leapt into her fiance. Sam, while as her father, started to enjoy being with Abigail. In part 2, he leapt into her fiance's body. They slept together with her thinking he was the fiance. In part 3, Sam playes a lawer and went over to Abigails house. He sees a little girl that looked like young Abigail, but it was her daughter. Later on, Al tells Sam that Sammy Jo (Abigail's Daughter) is also Sam's daughter, but Sammy Jo in the future doesn't know.

Well... as you can see, after Sam switched places with Al and came back to the present in the episode "The Leap Back" and then switched places back and continued leaping he never got the chance to return to the present. That means Sam is still married with Donna and he just doesnt remember this coz of the amnesia. His relation with Abigail and Sammy Jo happened while married. He is not responsable coz has no memory of his marrige. Hoped he enjoyed his extramarital relation hahaha.

Funny, I just finished seeing the whole series and I mentioned to my sister that they should make a comeback, but this time Sammy Jo would be the leaper and it should have her searching for Sam and bringing him home, it would be so awesome if they would do it. This was one off the best series of all time, I think it deserves a better ending. Imagine a 21st century Quantum Leap :D I bet it would have very good ratings.

There are certain eppy/scenes of wich are in relations to how it wud continue leaping to the future. Also rumors of an actress who played the little girl (who appeared to be Sam's daughter) wil take the leaping towards the new series. Its so much understanding! May the leap go forth and beyond. I agree, The episodes involving PEQL. (Project Evil Quantum Leap, for those who don't know the lingo,) was seeminly very inconclusive.

The other problem is, at the end of season Five, Sam created a paradox, which surely prevented him from doing everything that He did.

Which is why there was supposed to be a sixth season before that episode.
