This bill was originally designed to only spend 1 trillion dollars. I lived in UK, France, Italy and in the US and worked in 50 country. In Europe you pay taxes proportional to income and you have 1 job, 5 week holidays and all the services. In the US you pay taxes + premiums (138% up) + loans ($50k for college ... I paid $250) _ credit card debt (#1 business in the US. 85% of your salary is gone, you have to work 2-3 jobs for zero holidays and services unless you co-pay on top or the premiums for 5 min with the doctors you cannot choose.
The major difference between Europe and the US in Health Care and education is that in Europe you pay through taxes but the price you pay is honest for what you get and nobody try to get advantages especially for medicines, cures and education. In the US you habve the illusion you have the freedom you can choose but they know that now or later you will need both education and health care and once you sign you are trapped because you cannot control their premiums and you cannot even get out
If you do research on the way our money is spent, most money goes to Healthcare, and military. When someone goes to a hospital, and don't pay their bill, that hospital can seek money and who pays for it.
But if everyone has healthcare, and it is some management that prevents us from paying $7 for a little box of hard tissues that stratch your nose, then all of that money can line up.

People really need to do their research with the numbers. It's all over the internet, and you can call the Congressional Budget Office to confirm. The Republicans, especially Bush's legislation being passed withut being payed for. We are still paying for it, and will until 2014 The Republicans since Carter, and can be confirmed, have added to our countries deficit the most. They have also added the least amount of jobs to our country also.

Why are they so eager to force this legislation? If the majority of tax paying Americans don't want it, they should back off. Just another way to redistribute wealth from those who work to those who don't in my opinion . If they were serious about doing some good, they should limit the outrageous lawsuits that drive the cost of medical care and insurance up. But that might limit attorney incomes as well. Can't have that now.

This bill force the Insurance companies to use 85% of the money they get into real services and not into premiums, salaries, bonuses and whoopie woop buildings. In UHC the money they collect in taxes, which is 100th of the money you pay in premiums, go directly into services whichout the middle man to be paid. YOU SAVE TONS OF MONEY!!!

They have private options as well, but that is to shorten the lines in the public option, and there being a viable public options, makes it so that the private option can't mess around to much, seeing as the public option is a non-profit contestant :)

Furthermore With Universal education the offerof doctors, teachers and nurses is much higher than the demand and some of them find a job abroad (like the US?). In the US is the opposite. The cost of education and health care is so high that the demand is much higher than the offer and most the doctors in teh US are ... Indians. In Texas, 1/2 of the districts have no nurses, doctors and teachers.

In Manhattan I had to wait 2 weeks to get an appointment with an HMO doctor I couldn't even choose.

If you read the bill, Insurance comapies have to provide 85% of the money they get in premiums into services. In UHC the taxes you pay go straight into services because there are no Insurance companies with big salaries and bonuses and whooptie woop buildings to pay. 90% of the health care money in the US toiday is NOT used for health care and this increse costs.

It is online mate, you just can't find it on Youtube... the bill, in every step, is viewable by everyone with internet access. It's also not a summary, it's a real bill, that takes time to read, you can of course read it, and it's very readable.
Well, the government doesn't hate you, and almost every policy made is made to better your life or the state of your nation... but they won't do so unchecked, which is why you have a lot of boards controlling everything :)

I lived in UK, France, Italy and in the US and worked in 50 country. In Europe you pay taxes proportional to income and you have 1 job, 5 week holidays and all the services. In the US you pay taxes + premiums (138% up) + loans ($50k for college ... I paid $250) _ credit card debt (#1 business in the US. 85% of your salary is gone, you have to work 2-3 jobs for zero holidays and services unless you co-pay on top or the premiums for 5 min with the doctors you cannot choose.

The major difference between Europe and the US in Health Care and education is that in Europe you pay through taxes but the price you pay is honest for what you get and nobody try to get advantages especially for medicines, cures and education. In the US you habve the illusion you have the freedom you can choose but they know that now or later you will need both education and health care and once you sign you are trapped because you cannot control their premiums and you cannot even get out

If you do research on the way our money is spent, most money goes to Healthcare, and military. When someone goes to a hospital, and don't pay their bill, that hospital can seek money and who pays for it.
But if everyone has healthcare, and it is some management that prevents us from paying $7 for a little box of hard tissues that stratch your nose, then all of that money can line up.
I fine with whatever as long as I'm not paying for some hot in the tail little girl to get an abortion.
