I am good at all that - guessing where folks are from
I know ACT a bit too - I used to stay in Mugga Way in Redhill I think - next door to kerry packer. I also used to go to woden, tuggers, kambah, and get the bus from marnika to PB for a spot o skiing. i used to stay over in a place called the lodge out that way in Ginger-minge - good larks that. i saw Pommy petterson play there twice - not very funny him
Zeppelin was 30 years ago. Robert has moved on. He's had an extraordinary solo career. Why give up on it just to rehash a load of old LZ songs. Besides, without Bonzo, it ain't Zeppelin.
These guys are all among those who participated on John Fogertys new upcoming CD : The Return of the Blue Ridge Rangers.
The Blue Ridge Rangers sessions at Village Recorders in Los Angeles were Buddy Miller, Dennis Crouch, Jay Bellerose, Greg Leisz, Jason Mowery, Jodie Kennedy, Kenny Aronoff and Hunter Perrin. In the studio, John Fogerty worked with fellow producers T Bone Burnett and Lenny Waronker on the project.
I mean seriously. Listen to Zeppelin again. You've got Gallows Pole. Babe, I'm Gonna Leave You. Down by the Seaside. Bron-y-aur Stomp. Tangerine. The Rain Song. Black County Woman. Ramble On. I'm Gonna Crawl. In his solo career you've got Your Ma Said I Cried. Big Log. Walking In Clarksdale. He's been doing stuff with this kind of vibe the whole time. This is nothing new.
If any of you so called Zeppelin fans actually followed Plant's career, you'd know this is absolutely a natural step for him to make. He's a roots music buff, and loves exploring musical forms. It's all about soul and expressivity for Plant, and at this point in his career this allows him to better express his soul than wouid singing "Immigrant Song" with a dissolute Jimmy Page.
My only regret is that Page and Jones don't seem interested in doing stuff like this.
This makes absolute sense. No wonder so many people have burned out and gone to country music. Robert Plant and Led Zeppelin were the gods of heavy metal. After Houses of the Holy, the drugs started to creep into the quality of the music. And with Bonham's passing and Robert the only one to attend his funeral, it was fitting that Zeppelin's era is long gone. Much like the Honeydrippers era, Mr. Plant definitely seems to have found his new home. This duo, not my taste, are a true talent.
These 2 are awesome together, and Robert Plant 's voice-awesome!

this is the only decent post zep thing apart from big log that plant has done. sad but true. this is really nice - is the album worth getting?
sandprof 2 years ago
Yes. It is a sonic journey with subtle overtones of audio filigree. The more you listen the more you hear...

Its a conversation twixt ego and alter ego. It represents the (back) passage of time over Dennis Potter's radiator. Pretentious? moi?

Totally worth getting in my humble opinion - a really gentle, intriguing collaboration between these 2 unlikely people. It's really lovely.

the zepp reunion was scrapped for this? I know his voice isn't what it used to but that reunion concert was music coming back to life...
