They are not simply scolling. That is the easy way to do it which does not really work. It is called the Russian walk or the silent walk or crouch walk. It is a way to run silently and if done perfectly it is basically silent. But, it is extremely hard to do. There is also the b hop which is difficult as well.

It does work , thats why its illegal on CPL. The silent run you described is not illegal , its done with tapping ctrl at the right timing.. B hop is not difficult if you practice it enough on b hop servers .

When you start playing CS maybe you start with small because the game comes with size small, because your friends use small or because you think it's better because its small and you can have more accuary.

I start with small but i think de recoil it's much better with large.

Maybe for the pistols it's a little bit harder but the solution is "go DM and practice"

It's all preference, a good deal of pros use large because that was the only thing available a long time ago, same reason for most of them using 640x480. The best crosshair and resolution for you are the ones you play best with.
