  • test flight?

  • Must have been a plane full of little kids in those seats.

  • Homer Simpson: AAAHHH!!! WE'RE ALL GONNA DIE!

  • I feel sorry for the guy recording this.

1: having to sit there for 1 and half minutes before anything happens

2:probably getting conned into to putting the masks back up.

  • What is that ?? a Mc Donals pack ?

  • Lonely flight?

  • Does the cabin tone sound when the masks deploy? (I've never been on a flight where the masks deployed.)

  • A good video that is 1 minute 50 seconds too long.

  • could that be a Lufthansa Regional Embraer Jet?

  • The first 1:29 of this video are a complete waste of time!

  • What was the reason ?

  • ok people, just jump to 1:25

  • ok people, just jump to 1:25

  • Press 7 wait about 5 seconds and the masks will drop

  • That is so sudden that it would freak me out lol

  • You shoulda pulled a few down to activate :-P

  • besides the pilot and stuff?

  • Did anyone else notice that he was like the only one on the plane?

  • Thumbs down for making me watch a minute and a half of nothing.

  • as mascaras são acionadas quando alguém peida no avião?

  • looks like Air Canada to me

  • Not quite. It is to keep them alive, bit the oxygen is at a high level to make passengers euphoric rather than freaking out. This helps keep cabin control in such a crisis.

  • Has anyone watching this video been in a situation on a plane with masks dropping?

  • the comments are funny. one guy says its klm, another delta and so on. "Its an embrear 170, 190" "no! dc-8" "A380" "CONCORDE!!!"......"its a football" ->"its a stone luigi..... you didn't make it."

  • can you please return me the extra minute lost?

  • A Little Tangled

  • it is a 787

  • @tacotown7330 Dude, are you joking?

  • I almost died before those masks dropped! The woman sitting next to me had turned blue from hypoxia!

  • @nocalsteve

I heard the actual reason for the oxygen masks is because in the event of an actual emergency (i.e. the plane is going down in flames) people get excited and start hyperventilating. If they get some high oxygen content air and start hyper-inhaling it, they will black out and not be conscious when the plane makes impact and shatters into a million pieces. It's merely a humanitarian thing.

  • @WunderDoob That doesn't make any sense. In that case, why provide oxygen at all, everyone will just pass out from hypoxia, anyway. I don't think you could call that humanitarian.

Anyway, I was referring to the minute and a half watching the video expecting the masks to drop. Good thing I was only watching a video, or not.

  • @nocalsteve

Okay, since you seem to think the oxygen masks are to actually keep the passengers alive in the event of an emergency, and you're an expert on this topic, what is the oxygen content level in the air tanks that those masks are tapped into?

  • Is it me or the person as his hands on his ears? for the pressure

If yes i assume that the plane is really losing the pressure, right?

  • Dude the sudden drop of the oxygen mask would probably give half of the passengers a heart attack :p.

  • impress at least we know they work if we ever fly on that plane lol

  • fucking a 1:30 sec waste of time to wait for it

  • @IRONMAIDENFAN2006 You could have skipped forward to prevent time wasting.

  • this should be 9 seconds

  • he wanted to suprise us with the masks droping that far in the vid. in my opinion it dident work,

  • to bad u don't get to keep da mask

  • Edit. Edit. Edit!

  • If i were just sitting on a plane relaxing and cruising till we landed, and these masks fell like that, id probably crap my pants it would scare me so bad.

  • 1:30

  • Imagine if theye dropped O2 mobiles instead lol.

  • I remember that from our last vacation.

  • Yay, the masks finally dropped... ffs....

  • it deploys at 1:30

  • is tyhis an embraer or the 787?

  • 1:25 is when they drop

  • Wow that's a really really quiet plane.

  • IT IS DELTA AIR

  • Why not cut the first minute?

  • That really didn't need 2 minutes. 30 seconds would've been more than plenty.

  • There's no one on that plane

  • i would shit bricks if that happened haha they come out fast

  • Well theres no window exits. Definitely an Embraer 170/175

  • It's an Embraer. Definately.

  • is a concord

  • 1:29

  • Masks drop at 1:29 for those that don't want to waste 90 seconds of their life. Unclear on the reason for this video.

  • Too bad that I saw this after watching...

  • ok i fly in planes all the time but if the oxygen mask's deployed i would probably die lol or have a heart attack

  • is this embraer 190?

  • Comment removed

  • illinoisboy yes when the cabin reaches 14K feet the aircraft automatically deploys the cabin O2 system and turns on the seatbelt sign. However, it does not illuminate the sign in the lavatories encouraging anyone in there to stay put. You do not want to be moving about right after a loss of cabin pressure as the cockpit crew will soon be making an emergency decent to breathable air (below 10K)

  • wHAT IS THE PLANE&?

  • I think its an ATR 72 or 42.

  • its an embraer...170

  • Or 190/195?

  • Well in his other videos he states that the footage is from an 170. Perhabs this is another Plane but I don't think so...

Just realizing that I have never been on one....

  • is the 'bing' you hear in the background the fasten seatbelt light being turned on cuz it's automatic w/ the oxygen system?

  • What were you expecting? A million dollars to come out?

  • Definitely edit it so that about the first 1:25 are taken off.

  • This is an Embraer 170, 175 or 190

  • well thats a minute and a half minute ill never get back. Maybe edit it to the actual drop next time.

  • This is 99% sure a KLM E190.

    Probably PH-EZA

  • I am 100% sure that it isnt a KLM aircraft nor has it ever flown in Europe... but good guess :)

  • I saw the 'KLM-Blue' panels in the front, so I thought 'he klm aircraft!'.

Ok, but which carrier is it then?

  • Factory test bed!

  • jetblue?

  • @desertsmurf Virgin Blue E170?

  • @desertsmurf

    DAL?

  • @desertsmurf : Which version of the CRJ is this?

  • @desertsmurf AHAHAHAHAHA! Suck it PSKkyflyer!

  • @PSkyflyer it also could be an ATR 72-500

  • Rubber Jungle...

  • amazing !!!

  • is it A380

  • no, its an Embraer 170 or 190.

  • It's a DC-8

  • 1:30

  • That 'ping' as they deploy is a nice touch...

  • Yeah lol

  • what caused the plane to shake like that just as the mask's dropped? was it like turbulence, or what? Cool tho

  • i think it was just the way he was handling the camera

  • Read the description - its a pressurisation test!

  • it's the new embraer for KLM;)

  • what airline are you on

    it looks like KLM

  • waste of time

  • Are they just tangled or is there really only 4 masks per row so 2 on each site? I though they were supposed to have extras in case there are lap children aboard? Or does the E170 only have certain rows parents with children are allowed to sit on?

  • lol

  • I wonder who took delivery of this airplane? I work on the E170/175 for a Major Regional Company here in the US. It was probably one of our planes, lord knows it is O2 Suzy... Our plane that masks drop daily.. LOL

  • It was a delivery for a non-USA based carrier.

  • virgin blue (Australia)? I know they recently got erj's

  • what kind of plane is this. is this a practice?

  • Read the description, it is a test.

  • this video should be 10 seconds long

  • Here it comes. Any second now. It's coming. Annnnyyyyy seeeecoooond noooooow..... 3... 2... 1.... annnnnnndddddd. It's almost here. Well 30 seconds have gone by. It's coming really soon. We're really close.

Why does it take 1:26 before they drop?

  • Seriously. It's called editing, folks.

  • is this during flight?

  • Yep, it was an aircraft acceptance test flight for an E170.

  • They look different to conventional airmasks. they look wrapped up in glad wrap, the ones i usually see are like yellow cups with bags on the end all seperated

  • yea i know. But when im in the capitans side, the masks are steel and are black.

  • Tests prior to entry of normal operations.

  • Nope, as it was part of our test program and therefore totally expected... hence the reason i was sitting there with the camera ready...

  • Kwl lol. I Would Shit Myself If The Mask's Dropped.

  • Were You In The Air, Or On the Ground?

  • The test was for the automatic mask dropping, so the aircraft was unpressurized and climbed until the masks were dropped.

  • Is this a test or is this a real flight. There isn't a lot people on the plane.

  • Aircraft acceptance flight, just couple test engineers plus crew onboard..

Not FlyBe.... too few seats... :)

  • is that flybe?

  • Nice video but it would be nicer if you would make it start only a couple of seconds before the masks come down, instead of 1 minute 25 seconds :-S

  • Ew, glad i dont have to repack those !

  • Was the plane completely depressurised that you had to wear a mask or was it just normal?

BTW, You may want to add more tags like, "oxygen mask inflation" etc..

  • Just raised the cabin altitude to the value that would drop the masks. Perfectly normal test, no portable masks required.

    Thanks for the "tag" hint.

  • Ah I see, well it was an interesting vid, thanks for uploading :)

  • Forgive my ignorance, but is this an Embraer 170/175/190/195 aircraft?

  • Good guess, E170.
