@curtismichael14 It's not really "prosumer" at all, but you can buy wide and zoom lenses and it has manual controls. If you wanted to go all out you could just get a JAG 35 and more lenses but you can do that with better cameras. These are cheap on eBay so not bad overall. If anyone used real lighting there would be much better videos (you can also use filters). Even the HVX200 needs some help in low light (but that comparison is not fair at all and probably made consumers angry lol).

It's a hard drive so no tapes,

let me just clear this up.. this camera has damn good quality and you can watch my vid with it for proof. If you have a program like sony vegas 8.0, it can edit the files without converting them. if your using anything less than that, well, why do you have an hd camera?

Actually, you can just rename the .TOD files to .MPG, this was due to a copyright thing... That means you can edit the videos in almost any program.

this movie shows people editing on iMac's... will this camera actually work with final cut pro?? because i use that and am looking at buying one of these cameras, but i heard that they aren't compatible with each other... anybody with any more info on this??

not recommended to use in low light condition. Bad quality in image. No nightshot neither a extra light acessory to use on the top support.

Hi,

At this moment not a lot of editiing programs can handle the TOD files.

One of the best, i think, programs that can handle the TOD files is Sony Vegas 7e.

Please note that it's only the 7e version that can handle this, and no other version of Sony Vegas. Just copy the TOD files from your GZ-HD7 to your harddisk and start editing them.
