I am convinced that the draft needs to be brought back. Despite government and defense department pronouncements, the so-called volunteer army does not reflect the total U.S. population. Minorities, less educated make up the bulk of the U. S. military. Wars need to be supported by everybody. Conscription is the answer. Of course, war is not the answer; it is never the answer, but if we are going to have a standing army, then all should be involved, everyone should participate.
