Looking to trade an axial scaler for my $1800 RC car. I'm looking at the axial. Contact me for the Youtube video link or type in the following description "Trade for RC Axial Rock Crawler, click on "SHOW MORE" below, call at 314-960-9720, tdwmb7@aol.com"
this one ready to run is about 160. the one that you have to build is 160 plus you have to buy the electronics. i spent about 210 on the one that you have to build yourself. it works pretty great
Actually todays packs can be quick charged in as little as 20 mins and run time is about 40 mins. The high wind brushless motor is very efficient and crawlers use less current than say a race buggy..........so no it doesnt and much longer than 5 mins :)
the rear steer you need to get the linkage for the truck. you also need a servo and use a y connector or the best get a radio with channel mixing or a stick radio i have rear steering on my wheely king but thats no rock crawler is a all out monster truck
i checked out the ax10 rock crawler rtr, just needs a couple parts and remote to run, good buy, this one is usually about 210-220, depending on the store, check online too, especially ebay
i just bought one from a friend but i dont know if it is good cause he told me that he had put like 1200$ building it ..if someone could get back to me i could send pic's of it and maybee tell me a little what is on it and if i did a good buy thank's guys
@dakotart24 depends on what hes put into it, like if hes put a brushless system into it(those can get really expensive) water proof electronics, rear steering new servos, metel lincage arms, etc i've seen some that had at least $1400 put into them
I want to buy one of these but can't decide between the kit or the ARTR. The RTR seems weaker than the kit or ARTR. I don't mind building or not building them. It seeems the kit has all metal hardware and the ARTR doesn't thatsthe only real concern for me, but then it seems the ARTR csomes with bent links better tires and something better in the axle. Anyway Could someone clear this up for me I'm ready to buy but want the best one so I end up spending money on upgrades when I could have had them
Get the ARTR and fit a Novak Rooster and 55T brushed motor, weight the wheels and inboard the bottom links......see RRCi issue 299 for a how to article!! bestones
CML Distribution in the UK or TCS in the US are your best bet for Hop-ups and upgrades!!
Or get a copy of Radio Racecar International next month for an in depth hop-up special converting a standard AX10 RTR to a competition spec!! bestones MP
Just was wondering if you could tell me where you got the upgrade kits from? I just recently bought the RTR AX10 and love it but now want to upgrade it all, its well worth doing from the looks of it
What's the battery life on those things? i'm thinking of getting one, i'm pretty new to RCing ... i have a Traxxas Stampede but its no good for Crawling..
im not new to r.c. but how or what setup did you use to get it to crab steer? while reg. 4wsteer? i know rear servo &a y splitter will make it 4ws like a clod buster, but did you use a momentary like button on a third channel ? i watch your video over &over.
yeah on the spectrum 3 channel you can use the thrid channel servo reverse function to just press a button and have axles turning opposite or together, and then programme the thrid channel trim to turn 100% left or right so you can control the rear axle by itself and either join in with the front axle or turn opposite, it's great fun. Glad you liked the video, cheers.
@WarCowboy CONTINUED - What makes this semi complex is understanding that you are bypassing the use of the y harness. IE. normally used for 4WS setups with only 2 channels.
You actually plug the secondary steering servo into the 3rd channel slot, then programming the radio to allow it function as a mirrored steering servo until you tell it otherwise via a switch. Most newer radios make all this real simple to understand once you have your hands on one.
@WarCowboy CONTINUED - Now if you really want to see what the future of RC tech has unleashed, you should check out what Futaba has recently came out with for its plane and heli radios.
Its called "S.Bus". You can hook up to 16 servos into a 2 channel radio and control them all independently on one cable leading into one channel of the receiver. You can only control as many channels as the radio it's self has, but a 12 ch radio, controlling 12 functions with a 2 channel receiver? Now possible!
get the Jan issue of Radio Race Car International and read my review or do a search for CML Distribution and the combo I ran was 369.00 uk pounds sterling excluding battery! and radio! and servos!

each servo can be trimmed or reversed usually on the Radio.. maybe he is just using a 3-channel Radio.. one of the two I would assume..

@lighthousecrazy Like you I have been into the RC game a long time myself.
I was fortunate enough to explore the world of planes and heli's early on, so knowing such complexities makes this sorta thing a cinch.
The only way to get an independent 4 wheel steering "like this guys setup" is to mix a 3rd channel into the deal.
Its a matter of telling the 3rd channel to reverse when setting it up, activated to do so via a "momentary or stationary" switch.
Best out there> FUTABA all the way FTW!
