  • at last we could see them here again...This tune is one of the greatest tunes of the 80's ..even perhaps of all time..i love the soulful ,sweetsadness tone it bring ..a reflection of my time in the 80's...the orchestra is a classic..

  • Nothing compares to the 80's. I bought ABC's greatest hits, best thing i've bought for ages.

  • i still like All of My Heart the best. I was only 12 or 13 back then!

  • there exits a beautiful 12 inch long version, very ochestral; does anyone could it put on you tube

    what great song

  • Nothing will EVER be better than '80s music.

  • 60s muisc :D

  • Total beauty.

  • It's official, between ABC, Roxy Music and Bowie the soundtrack of my life has been provided. Thank you Martin Fry.

  • I luv the female vocals on this track. I don't think they appear on the video but on the album track they do. So beautiful the female vocal on the album track.

  • gorgeous song and video...still one of my favs of all time

  • awesome bass

  • He's so sexy...reminds me of Jim Collins

  • i so miss the 80's..sad

  • I love this song! Martin Fry's voice is really relaxing and nice.

  • yea....i love this song^_^ (cool name)

  • One of my greatest 'guilty pleasures'!

  • Hey you cheeky scamp i will hear none of the Guilty pleasures stuff , i love ABC to this very day i just can't live a lie !

  • Such a gorgeous sad song.

  • ......what a beautiful song, they do'nt do um like this these days, love the orchestra bits well cheezy but absoultly lovely.........

  • Saw the first show on 8/1 in the U.S. Oh, how I wish they would headline. Martin's voice sounds fabulous now as it did then. LOVE ABC.

  • did they sing this song? youre very lucky

  • BRILLIANT!

  • Beautiful song!!

  • martin fry...we miss your music

  • I think I read somewhere that Martin Fry worked as a musical consultant for the movie "Music and Lyrics". The one with Hugh Grant and Drew Barrymore.

I loved that film! I thought it had a great soundtrack that really captured the spirit of the 80s. :)

  • I like the version from the album How To Be a Zillionaire. Only because the female guest vocalist at the end of the song, which you don't hear in this version. My fave ABC album.

  • Also a touch of Bryan Ferry (Roxy Music) in the flavor of their Music !!!

  • Yes, like around their "Avalon" days. :)

Earlier on, they'd had a more "rock" sound. Towards the end, it got more mellow.

  • Yes I completely agree they both have similarities....

Avalon was truly a work of art. I still love all of Bryan Ferry's work.

  • Me, too. I actually like his version of "Jealous Guy" better than Lennon's.

No disrespect meant to Lennon, of course. I love him, too.

  • Yea....my wife always wants to take me in the other room everytime she hears it! Needless to say I play the song a lot!!! LOL!!!

  • I don't blame you. Hehe... ;)

  • Such a remarkable song, especially this version with the violins...one of their best and definitely the most beautiful.

  • fan f...ing tastic

  • strangely fry's hairstyle reminds me of brett andersons's in the early suede years. a bowie thing no doubt

  • Anne Dudley just does amazing orchestration and I think she did most of ABC's work

  • yes,the orchestration is unbelievably awesome!! the momentum towards the end is classic for a "pop song".

  • I agree. The strings are heavenly. :)

  • "Be near me" has been one of my favorite ABC

songs for more than 20 years but it was only re

cently that I discovered this gem on their grea

test hits album; great, great song.

  • A song which comes on us like a warm pool of water, wait...something is swimming under the water. It isn't small at all like everyone thinks..in fact one moment you see a rim going under, then this rim never ends! What is swimming in the Ocean and coming up to the surface?

    ~Is BLUE scary?

Let's count all the colours of blue.

  • Man, if Gary Numan and David Bowie had a son....that would be the lead singer of this band.

  • If Gary Numan and David Bowie had a son, I'd probably freak out a little bit. LOL! ;

  • THis song is still increadible, came out during my divorce....oh well, the music still speaks to the soul

  • soulfull..classic voice from martin frye..Again..wheres music nowadays?? i just loooove this tune..from the intro till the end..its just ...awesome

  • Thanks andy2058! for this beautiful song and video...pure classic!

  • What an extraordinary song ... the 80s, my and ur youth (?), ... ur lady of the heart of that time,... everything combined and reminds me of that time is in this song.

  • reminds me of a girl too... 80's ruled.

  • wow.. i remember the girl i had a crush on way back then.. kristin underdown. she was nugget.. Oh the good old days.. lol..

ABC was soo far ahead of it all...

  • Merric, you are absolutely right. Much as I love new music in all its forms and always will, this type of pop seemed to die out by the late 80s which is a complete shame.

  • this is one of the best new wave era songs ever written..shme this wasnt played much..very underrated song by the abc

  • Beautiful song. Brings back some 80's memories....

  • This brings back alot of memories. Didn't know it had a video. Thanks

  • this was the last video & collaberation with original ABC drummer, David Palmer......

  • yes, they dont mke music like this anymore...the melody, arrangement plus the orchestra is so pleasing to listen..it fits the theme of the song perfectly..especially the 2:28 part..

  • Their sound is so soulful and fantastic. It really takes you away from the daily routine. A perfect mix of electronic music, soul and pop music, with that lovely British international flair. We just don't have this sort of music anymore, which is sad.

  • was not aware they made a video for this song. Great song and video.

  • This Song Played on the tv show grey's anatomy

  • like the ending part with the orchestra's momentum towards the end with the bass background..brings back memories of an old flame

  • WOW! I didn't even know they made a video to this, i love it! XD
