How big are your cups? Your 1 cup of flour looks at least 300g, exactly the same amount of flour as a standard Victoria sponge recipe (3 or 4 eggs per 175 - 200g flour)! Looks nice, I'll try this one, especially as I love Spongebob Squarepants *LOL* ;-P

i use a regular hand blender for beating eggs but my egg whites are NEVER stiff no matter how long i beat them. they just become very frothy .. any suggestions? whats the name of the machine he used to beat egg whites?

@yashprakashveni - You can create an oven by using a pressure cooker on a gas stove. Add some sand in it and heat the sand to create your own oven or try using a double boiler where you will bake your cake in an air tight container immersed into a double boiler. Important point is to check the cake once every 15 mins to check if its done - because you dont have a preset temp thats controlled in an oven. Hope this helps.

@desichhokri : hi,all ovens come with a grill. as soon as your cake it done, take it out of the mould and place it on the grill to cool. when the cake is hot, it has a lot of steam and if that is not allowed to escape, your cake will become soggy and will become bad soon. hoe this helps

loved ur recipe chef.......i found it a bit tricky to mix the flour with the rest of the mixture but learning baking only coz of u :)......i was quite happy with the way my cake came out yesterday but it wasn't moist inside......and i have noticed your mixture itself looks a bit runny whereas mine wasn't that runny......cud u let me knw where was i wrong plz?

i tried this and did not notice that you had to put vanilla essence(because he doesnt say it) and my cake smells like raw eggs!its an okay cake..a little burnt on one side but i like the christmas fruit cake better.

@akshivanvi No, the whites wont whip up if the yolk is in there, and you need the whites whipped to give you the air.

You can use one teaspoon lemon juice to get rid of eggs smell. I used before to make suiss roll cake without using a butter, it was greatttttt.

hey, baking soda will not help to rise the cake
so you will have to use baking powder or else the cake will shrink when comes out of the oven.
baking soda is commonly used in cookies, etc...
