it's commonly referred to as a Pro or Pro-set offense. Back in the '80s, it was fashionable to line up with (gasp) TWO running backs in the backfield deployed in the I-formation, split backfield, or varying near/far alignment. Also, the QB spent a lot of time under center, with the shotgun only being used in long-yardage or obvious passing situations. Very different from today's Two TE and spread/shotgun looks.
Besides, Florida needs to man up and play Miami (FL), instead of Miami (OH) and App. St. I know they play challenging SEC teams, and they have to play conference games, but the but they play weak SEC teams aswell. I guess they just don't want too much of a challenge on their schedule.
you hit the nail on the head....every team has trouble in their conference regardless of if its boise state playing utah state or oregon playing washington state....no excuses for florida.
@knightguy11 Miami has to fill that spot because Florida won't step up to the challenge.neither would K-State,which is why they backed out of a home and home with the Canes. same thing happened with USC a couple years back.Notre Dame did it for 20 years before they grew a pair this year.
he knows this he knows the miami will play anyone...the only other team that will play anyone is USC they offered tennessee a home and home and UT turned it down.
@m2diggs Notre Dame is independant. They are not tied into 8 conference games. Oh Yea they are tied into Army, and Navy every year, and USC. Just wondering why you guys care so much about Florida's OOC games. I still dont' get it??
@knightguy11 Army and Navy have been rivals of Notre Dame for like a century.ND is not going to bitch out of those teams like Florida did to the Canes way back when.despite USC current troubles, they still are an elite team for the time being.they also have Pitt,Stanford,BC and Utah.four very good teams.
I still don't understand why you care so much about us bashing Florida's schedule?
@m2diggs Oh yes I understand the Notre Dame has long standing rivaries with those particular teams. I wasn't ragging them for that at all. Florida's SOS(strength of schedule) is always higher than UM's. That's why I wonder why you bash Florida's schedule. Miami has a tough enough time beating ACC schools. If I were you I would worry about winning an ACC Championship before anything else. You can continue to bitch about UF"s schedule, pretty sure it won't change anything, lol. Have a good one.
@knightguy11 Florida schedule is currently higher than Miami.your implying that it's always been that way when it hasn't.and their SOS strength is based on a couple of teams within the SEC,not the whole conference.Miami has had their struggles in the ACC because of sorryass recruiting done by Coker.I realize that Shannon has been the coach for 3 seasons, most of whom with Coker's scrubs.last year he went 9-4 with his young recruits.this year they will be better.
the only reason florida has a higher SOS is because of the fraudulent pre season top 25....none of those SEC they have ranked finish where they have them ranked...just like in 2008 they had tennesse, auburn and lsu ranked in the top 15 none of them did anything.
@knightguy11 And the Georgia game thats played in Jacksonville doesn't qualify as a home game?of course you Gators fans would say something like that.
@m2diggs Oh I agree, the game in Jacksonville is pretty much a home game for the Gators. If I'm Georgia, I make an effort to get that game changed. I think people love the tradition of the "cocktail party". Definitely a Florida home game.
"why do you care about florida schedule so much" thats a cop out excuse.. ok so if no one is supposed to care then i dont want to hear anyone say "the SEC is the toughest conference" ESPN hypnotizes people that south carolina vs miss state is a good game. its called quit lying and spewing bullshit....the sports media is just as bad as the news media they spew so much bullshit you get nauseated. you hear ESPN yappin about the SEC with no merit...they just say it as if we should all believe it.
@getyoasshome Who knows. I guess when you win 4 straight National Championships people notice. I have no idea. I don't make the polls or vote for conference strength. Maybe everyone is wrong and you are right. I just like to watch some good football. I really think you are over thinking this. Have a good one.
@getyoasshome Common sense says when a conference wins 4 straight National Titles with 3 different teams. That conference would be thought of as the strongest in the Nation. Are you familiar with that common sense, lol. Common sense says when a conference has the most starters in the NFL, that conference would be considered the strongest. Don't ya think, lol.
thats 3 different teams in a 12 TEAM CONFERENCE!!! also only 1 of the teams were unbeaten and 2 of them lost at home to unranked teams....(LSU in 06') (florida 08) that type of jykel and hyde stuff would never work if the BCS didnt exist they would all fall out of the top 10 if they lose at home to un ranked teams. starters in the NFL?? how many SEC players can you name that you would say he is the best in the league at his position? how about 0
@getyoasshome I couldn't disagree with you more. In the "old" days before the BCS, teams often would win the NC with a loss or even two. Miami lost to Florida 28-3 in 1983(had a loss in 89' also) for example. You are funny. Does Payton Manning ring any bells for best player at position, lol. Dude, get over it. Manning has been at the top for 5-10 years. Most starters in the NFL......strong argument.
i said LOSE AT HOME TO UN RANKED TEAMS! you never seen miami lose at home to un ranked teams and go to the title game. miami lost in 89' to ranked FSU...peyton manning? HES NOT THE BEST AT HIS POSTION DUDE!!! drew brees IS THE BEST QB IN THE NFL PERIOD DEAL WITH IT. hes been at the top most years? hmmmmm thats explains 1 super bowl and a shotty post season record right? 9-9 in the post season and didnt win a playoff game till 2003 LOL!! I i believe because of this guy name tom brady.
the performance or lack there of of SEC players in the NFL is either from one of 2 things....1. they reach their potential in college or 2. the SEC gets too much media hype and they really are not that good. i'll go with the second one. turn on ESPNU or any ESPN channel and they are all SEC they tried to make a case for south carolina and UGA contending for the SEC crown LOL!!!!!! talk about propaganda.
@getyoasshome The SEC has tons of top running backs in the NFL, Brandon Jacobs, Ronnie Brown, Carnell Williams, Moreno, Addai, McFadden, Taylor, Faulk, McClain, Just to name a few.
top running backs? are you serious...you named mcfadden? really? does he even play? moreno? brandon jacobs? has any of the guys you named gone over 1,000 yards last year? you got 3 pac 10 guys going for over 1,000 yards and NO SEC BACKS GOING FOR 1,000. even fred jackson from COE COLLGE went over 1,000 you named some has beens and never weres like mcfadden hes in oakland and cant even get on the field LOL!!!!! addai? look dude NO SEC BACKS IN THE TOP15!!!!!
dont forget HYPE GETS YOU DRAFTED JUST AS MUCH AS TALENT!!! who gets the hype? need i say more. we can go down the line of over hyped SEC talent from audrey bruce to tim couch....
@getyoasshome Ryan Leach, Andre Ware, Tony Mandarich, Brian Bosworth, lots of players from lots of conferences are "over hyped". SEC is the strongest conference in the Nation. We all know that.
but none is more hyped collectively than the SEC when a player is getting drafted the first thing they say is "hes from the SEC so he must be good" what a joke.....the SEC is the strongest? ok then wake me up when mississippi state and kentucky face off in the SEC title game...till then its a predictable 2 team conference. no parody a top heavy league with horrible Quarterback play and a lot of 13-6 games.
@getyoasshome What conference has the most starting QB's in the NFL. You guessed it, the SEC. 5 Starters, The Mannings, Cutler, Stafford and Campbell. Just the facts, lol.
and only 1 of them are good....look just face it jason campbell is a bum, cutler a super bum, stafford is eric zeir all over again LOL!!! 2 of the 4 QBs you named were traded and traded for a reason....cutler had 26 picks last year!!! need i say more? the mannings? yeah ok you get 1 with peyton none of the other guys are elite QBs sorry to break it to you. when you start at QB you need to make an impact not just live off of potential....cutler is a bum! campbell is a bum!
@getyoasshome I guess we differ in thinking. If you are one of 32 QB starters in the NFL you are a stud. You can say what you want. The 3rd string QB on the worst team in the NFL is a stud. Continue to make stupid comments on guys that get paid millions of dollars and play(and start) in the NFL. Funny stuff.
we are not talking about some guys off the street and we would be morons to try and compare them to regular guys...the 3rd string QB in the NFL is NOT a stud....maybe compared to someone who does not play but why even make that argument the idea is to compare them to other PRO QBS!! cutler is a fuckin bum he threw so many ints im surprised he still has a job. you're an idiot to try and compare them to regular people you try to be clever but its a failure duke.
only a stone fool would compare a pro QB to joe blow off the street...where does cutler rank IN THE PROS?? hes the worst starting QB in pro football!! and after this year if he stinks again he will be a clip board holder. whats funny is how you try to say the 3rd string guys are studs....COMPARED TO WHO??!! me? you? thats ignorant. bottom line is NO SEC PLAYERS ARE SCARING ANYONE IN THE PROS!! that just goes to show you they are covered with more hype than a leonardo dicaprio movie.
just face the truth LOL!!!!!!!!!! as soon as the NFL draft comes its like all the SEC players take off the super man pajamas and then forget where they put them. no elite running backs, 1 pretty good WR (sidney rice) i mean damn....i thought the best athletes come from the SEC...at least thats what the TV says. miami is one school and they have 2 WRs in the top 5!!! the pac 10, big 10 and ACC rule the nfl with elite players up and down the board.
@getyoasshome How do the names, Namath, Tarkenton, Bert Jones, Bart Starr, How about Bo Jackson and Herschell Walker. Jack Youngblood, Emmitt Smith. Not half bad.
herschell walker? yeah another bum...you know what walker is known for? he is responsible for being the main guy in the dallas cowboys swindling the vikings into giving them a million draft picks and helping them get the players for those 3 rings in the 90s.. yeah those QBs were pretty good but the pac 10? much better...aikman, elway, plunkett, thats 6 super bowls right there.....not to mention joe kapp (cal) junior seau, dan fouts, danny white, and running backs galore that were actually great.
why do the SEC running backs fall apart in the pros? ben tate...DONE possibly for his career....glen coffee....QUIT!! i mean damn what is going on? the pac 10 is known for putting better players in the pros and the pac 10 doesnt get nearly the hype.pac 10 QBs have over 10 super bowl appearances...lets not even talk about big 10 QBs they rule the NFL with guys like griese, brees, brady, len dawson and earl morral....so where are these elite SEC QBs? no david greene, jevan snead nothing, just hype
@getyoasshome Payton and Eli have Superbowls, as does Nameth, Bart Starr has 2. Kenny Stabler has one. Tarkenton went to 4. Grossman went to a superbowl. We can play this game forever, lol. SEC runningbacks rule are you kidding me. Who has the most yards career in the NFL...Emmit. There are tons of SEC running backs starting in the NFL, you are funny. I guess Louisana Tech puts out great QB's because Bradshaw won 4 Superbowls?? right. Also Southern Miss because of Favre. It just gets stupid.
actually you cant play this game forever because you still dont understand that on an NFL level starting doesnt make you good. people lose jobs everyday in the NFL....no SEC back going for 1,000??? the bench mark isnt even 1,000 anymore its about 13 to 1,400. grossman? you mean the defense and devin hester got them to the super bowl. im starting to think you dont watch much football.
this is what you forget you like to play the conference card so dont start sticking up for bradshaw and favre you are the one that like to dick ride conferences not me and the numbers are facts...
a great back up that won 2 super bowls....he actually played....i can name 50 SEC QBs that got hype and never played in anything and never should have been drafted. morrall led the colts to super bowl 3 not unitas he also won super bowl 5 and was named NFL mvp in 1968 sooooo are you drunk, high or both?
@getyoasshome Just looked at a NFL top 10 QB's of all time list. The SEC had 2 players. Manning and Tarkenton. The PAC 10 had 2 also, Elway and Aikman. Soo Sorry. No Miami QB's in there. 1 Big Ten. 1 Indy, 1 Big East. 1 Southern Miss, 1 Louisana Tech, and 1 Unitas.
well guess what dan marino is in that category and he has how many rings? 0, tarkenton has how many rings 0 thats what you fail to realize nobody is playing the conference card but you...i bring facts. the SEC has horrible running backs in the pros so deal with it. what top 10 list are you reading? passing yards? ask tom brady if he cares about stats or rings he will laugh in your face. uh not that it matters but vinny is #6 all time passing in the NFL smart guy.
@getyoasshome OK, I'll ask Tom next time I see him, lol. How is Emmit Smith a horrible running back. Bo Jackson, Herchell Walker.....tons of SEC starting running backs in the NFL. IF they suck then all their backups really suck. Dude, you crack me up.
i didnt say emmitt was horrible....im talking about in the league right now...what the hell did herschell walker do in the nfl? you're way off base with who is good in the pros....only 4 SEC backs start for NFL teams so where did you dig that "tons of SEC running backs are starting in the NFL" line at? like i said you dont watch much football. the only teams that have starting SEC backs are indy, cleveland, tampa and miami....so the backups do suck......they're from the SEC LOL!!!!!!!
again no 1,000 yard backs...kevin faulk is not the premier back in new england its laurence maroney FROM! minnesota....norwood? he doesnt start michael turner does FROM! northern illinois LOL!!! brandon jacobs went to southern illinois so cross him out. deuce mcallister is retired, jamal lewis is retired..addai is not a 1,000 yard back. mcfadden doesnt start and is a bust. taylor is behind maroney and ronnie brown splits time with ricky williams. i hate to say it but it is what it is.
@getyoasshome Sorry buddy Brandon Jacobs transferred to Auburn. Ronnie Brown splits time with Williams??? He's the starter, Both are good. You are funny. The SEC has the most starters in the NFL, thats all you have to know.
see thats where you're wrong and you need to watch more football....brandon jacobs transferred from auburn not to auburn look him up on NFL.com....ronnie brown split time with ricky williams in the pros....the SEC has the most overrated players in the pros thats all i know. all they do is get injured or disappear like so called studs like jevon kearse, kevin carter, mike peterson etc...they never reach their potential or is it they reach it in college?
@getyoasshome You are right buddy, Jacobs did transfer from Auburn, lol. Boy, you are tough on the SEC players. Thats just fine, we all have opinions don't we. Some of the finest players in the history of the NFL played in the SEC. To put down an entire conference is a bit crazy. Have a great day.
@getyoasshome Saying that SEC players are terrible NFL players is opinion. I have read many articles about how well the SEC prepares players for the NFL. Most experts agree that SEC players make great pros. You are in the minority. Your "facts" are skewed. Good day.
yeah that same media are the same ones that convinced people that the ESPN "game of the week" was south carolina vs mississippi state....that same media made it ok to lose at home to un ranked teams and still make excuses for teams in the SEC. in 2008 USC lost on the road on a thursday night and they never seen the top 5 the rest of the season and they only lost 1 game soooooo whos to blame for that?
@getyoasshome Interesting fact: the first 3 superbowls were won by Quarterbacks from Alabama. Alabama has produced more superbowl winning QB's than any other school. I thought that was interesting.
i dont know if the fact they went to alabama had anything to do with it LOL!!! truth be told the packers and jets were better than the teams they played. thats only 2 QBs with starr and namath....its all the same if i said Notre dame did the same thing but won more super bowls with joe montana and joe theismann winning a combined 5 super bowls...see, in the pros colleges and conferences dont make any sense.....unless its miami LOL!!!!
again like i said LOL!! in the pros there is no connection to what school you went to...even the miami guys dont hang on to that as much. too many guys in the pros went to no name schools and were 100X better than major school guys you know like jerry rice, walter payton, Ladanian tomlinson, deacon jones, mean joe green, john stallworth etc...i could make a team of 1AA players in the pros and never lose a game....
purdue have 3 bob griese, len dawson and drew brees so i guess that conference crap goes out the window yet again LOL!!!! that media crap dont work in the pros either you're good or you go play arena league or go up to canada.....if the pros was ran by the media like the college football is the vikings would have won the super bowl....actually the game would have been minnesota vs colts and the game would have ended in a tie LOL!!! with favre and manning sharing the MVP.
you win together you lose together.....explain ole miss losing to a high school team...explain florida struggggggling with miami...not the U but miami of ohio?
you always wanna holler SEC SEC SEC!!! ...you have 1 1/2 good teams...when ole miss loses to a high school team what does that do for the conference? not only did they lose, they lost AT HOME!!!! are you still yelling SEC! SEC!? thats why its almost laughable to cheer for a league.
@getyoasshome That is your opinion. I cannot explain Ole Miss and Florida. Both played poorly. Jacksonville St almost beat FSU last year(they were up 9-7 with 35 seconds left). The Ole Miss and Florida games definitely hurt the strength and credibility of the SEC. Not sure why you like to be hostile and abrasive??? I'll be rooting for those Canes to beat Ohio State next week. Have a great labor day!!
ha ha ha ha we can only wish LOL!!!! when boise state goes to the national title game then what? is the WAC the best "conference" in college football? conference bandwagons are the most ignorant idea in sports, so i guess when nebraska joins the big 10 and boise joins the MWC next year they are loyal right? this is comedy....im guessing if the NY jets win the super bowl the patriots wont be yelling AFC EAST, AFC EAST!!!
the NFL top 10 list? i dont know what list you were looking at or what stat but when it comes to passing the pac 10 has 4 QBs in the top 10 dan fouts, warren moon, elway and drew bledsoe so i dont know what you were looking at. miami is one school and they have 2 in the top 15...vinny #7 and jim kelly #15
@getyoasshome I don't know what list you are looking at either. Fouts, moon, Bledsoe, seriously. Funny stuff. Vinny is the 7th best NFL QB of all time????? thats nutty. Kelly goes to 4 superbowls and he is 15th behind Testeverde....REALLY??? Thats Crazy. Anyway, Funny, funny stuff.
the only stats you could be looking at is passing yards....other than that you must have made up some stats because elway, moon, bledsoe and fouts are in the top 10 across the board sorry for your SEC guys but the pac 10 put out the best talent in the pros thats fact. passing yards and TDs vinny is in the top 10 so sorry to burst your bubble. and again the pac 10 has plenty QBs whether its TDs or yards so what stats are you looking at?
@getyoasshome Sorry but when you want to look at the 10 best all time NFL QB's you have to look at Championships. Montana, Brady, Favre, Manning, Elway, Marino, Aikman, Unitas, Bradshaw, Tarkenton.
*You have no clue what you are doing. I thought you like to talk about "5 Rings". YOu of all people should know that Championships are a huge part of being the BEST.
championships? i see pac 10 guys all across the board....again TARKENTON NEVER WON A SUPER BOWL!!!!!!!! i dont need to keep talking about 5 rings we all know miami has 5 titles and have played for 9 since 1983 thats a no brainer but you are trying to say the best top 10 QBs but based on what? championships? take out favre, tarkenton has no rings, take out marino and the mannings have 1 a piece to talk about titles you need multiple rings like montana, elway, aikman, bradshaw, brady etc...
not as many SEC players are starting as much as you think they are....its mainly serviceable guys and offensive lineman they are not high impact guys the best out of all the players in the league from the SEC is patrick willis
if thats the case miami has the most players in the league than any school in the country.....are all of them good? no...some of them start too and they are not that good. philip buchanon is still starting and we all know he is not very good. bottom line the SEC is full of nfl bust...i dont even care about rooting for entire conferences because its moronic...but since you guys do i guess you can deal with the over hyped bums they shovel down our throats ever year.
how about we run down the line of SEC QBs to come out in the last 30 years and how they have faired peyton and eli are the best.... heath shuler= bum all florida QBs= bum tee martin= bum brody croyle= bum eric zeier= massive bum jason campbell= bum damion craig= never made it david greene (all time winningest SEC QB)= bum drew stafford= will be a bum in detroit jamarkus russell= im not even goin there tim couch=bum jay cutler= bum ok im sure you catch my drift....hopefully the veil is lifted.
i know but some of them could have done at least as good as jim kelly LOL!!! i mean damn heath shuler was probably the WORST QB ever drafted or maybe it was all those florida QBs. people forget that the worst team in nfl history was quarterbacked by the ole ball coach....1976 yuccaneers.
spurrier was a HORRIBLE quarterback for every team he played on in the pros....did i miss something? did he win a playoff game or even reach the playoffs as a starter? i must have been sleep and the only person that was awake to see it was you. it wasnt until doug williams came that the YUCS became the BUCS he was a shame of a QB sorry to break it to you but he sucked.
i know its called the pre season top 25...bama is ranked 1 and florida is 3 when they play each other it will be either 1 vs 3 or 1 vs 2 that way at the end of the season no matter who wins the SEC title game one of them is going to the national title game...the pollsters know that they will not lose another game all year to those average SEC teams...its starting to look more and more like a 2 team conference like ive been saying all along.
famu? if florida would sign the contract like notre dame just did, like ohio state did, like nebraska did miami would play them.....florida has no excuse..when no one will play you you have to fill in the gaps...florida goes looking for cupcakes, miami has to settle for them because no one will play them.
@getyoasshome All I can say is stop obssesing over UF's OOC schedule. Not sure why you care at all. Could it be you are concerned the Gators are too good?? There is room for all the Florida schools at the top. Join the party Miami.
no because if the gaytors were so good they would have at least 1 unbeaten season...they rely on the politics of college football to bail them out...its happened in all 3 of their titles.
@m2diggs Miami is one of the best programs in college football and I'm so proud of all their past accomplishments. I really think they have a great shot at an ACC title this year.
@m2diggs You are simply wrong. We've gone over this before. I've been a fan for a long, long time. You are dense. I was a Miami fan a few years back when they went 5-7. Get a clue buddy. I was a Miami fan in 1979. Your statement doesn't hold water. Why would you be mad at me for being a Miami fan????? I'll admit I follow the Gators much more closely as my wife is an UF alumni, and we go to Gator alumni events...we also love road trips to Gainesville. I'm allowed to root for Miami though.
@knightguy11 lol,no my friend, that fact that you've consistently posted negative remark after negative remark tells me quire obviously that you are not a Canes fans.what fan brags about their teams fans being bandwagoners?what fan brags about their teams down years instead of their dominant years?you can throw around all this BS about how you've been a fan for 30 years.nobody is buying it.
@knightguy11 getyoasshome and I aren't the only canes fans to call you out on being a bandwagon fan so I doubt we're all wrong about were your loyalties truly are.just because Miami is in rebuilding mode, that doesn't mean you should kick em' around while their down.no fan does that to the team they love.
@m2diggs You are certainly entitled to your opinion. I will continue to root for the Canes. Believe it or not there are lots of fans like me who aren't scared to tell it like it is. Not sure when I "bashed" UM???? I think I have corrected guys like you who put down the Gators for whatever reason?? I guess thats what makes college football so much fan. Lots of loyal fans. Have a great day!!
@m2diggs FYI: you are soo wrong when you say "no fan kicks their team when they are down, if you really love that team". My best friend is from Alabama, just outside of Tuscaloosa, and for many years he would rag Bama for their terrible coaching choices, crappy teams, etc. He would put on his Bama golf shirt every Saturday and religiously watch them, and be embarrassed by them half the time. You are going to tell me he's not a real fan. You are simply wrong. He's as real as it gets.
@knightguy11 So your Bama friend makes fun of his teams strength of schedule?your bama friend pokes fun of his teams fans?funny because so far your the only fan that does that sort of thing to the team that he claims he's a fan of.and I bash the Gators because i don't like them and they are a State rival.
@m2diggs You are entitled to bash anyone you like. I am entitled to defend the Gators. Pretty simple. When I point out SOS. It's a fact, not a bash. Usually pointing it out to defend someone like you bashing Florida's schedule. Are you getting this?? You don't have to like the Gators. Thats what make college football fun. FYI: Yes my Bama friend pokes fun at Bama fans. Roll tide big guy!! Why are you so sensitive?? It's just a game buddy.
@knightguy11 Dude, you can defend anyone you like.just stop flat out lying to everyone.come clean for a change so these pointless arguments can come to a rest.Bama fans poke fun of their team?because all i see pasted over youtube is "Roll Tide!! this and Roll Tide that!!" you calling me Mr.sensitive?Mr. "i have to defend Florida's honor because the fans of my other favorite team *ROLLS EYES* is bashing them???!!!
@m2diggs Why wouldn't you see "roll tide" they just won the NC and went 14-1, LOL!! You are funny. I bet you didn't see alot of Roll Tide when they were down. I went to a game in Tuscaloosa many years ago(I think 2001) UCF beat Bama 41-39. All the Bama fans were coming up to me after the game saying "I'm glad ya'll beat us because we need to get rid of Dubose(coach). True story!! Do you believe they are not real fans??? Good night!!
@m2diggs FYI: Pretty sure I never "made fun" of Miami's SOS. Just pointing out that Floridas last year was 14th and Miami's was 21st. (again, defending your bashing)How is that bashing anything??? Come on buddy, You have to be getting this.
@knightguy11 "FYI: Pretty sure I never "made fun" of Miami's SOS"
Oh right that's why you bring up the cupcakes that Miami played back in the 80's (all the while typing lol)when they were playing the powerhouses of collage football at the same time.
@m2diggs Just pointing out facts. Miami was not in a conference and typically had a 3 or 4 game schedule. Hey it worked. Just pointing out facts. Go Canes!!
With a 12-game schedule, there's no excuse for Florida and Miami (Fla.) to not play each other every football season home-and-home like both have done with Florida State. This is coming from a Gator fan, BTW.
its florida that keeps tucking tail. after a while you dont take them serious...i been a miami fan for a long time and now all of a sudden that florida is winning you would think that they would renew the series and play every year but by the looks of florida's unwillingness to play anyone not in the SEC and their lack of wanting to travel to play anyone i would say that it will never happen. florida has too much to lose by playing miami and fsu every year.
@getyoasshome Florida still plays FSU every year, you do know that??? Still don't understand why you care so much about Florida's schedule. UF gave UM a home and home recently. You should be happy UM will actually sell out a home game in 2013 when they play the GAtors. Until then I hope UM wins a couple of ACC Championships. Wasn't the last game 26-3 or something. You still talk about being scared......REALLY. Come on buddy. Nobody is scared of UM lately.
i also know that florida tried to drop FSU also but couldnt because they would have gotten sued...you can look that up. i should be happy that UF game miami a home and home? last i checked florida has beaten miami 1 time since 1986...need i say more? you're still talking ignorance about miami selling out games..we've been down this road before LOL!!! ITS MIAMI NOT GAINESVILLE nobody travels there to see football games. you hope miami wins the ACC? even if we dont UF is still miami's 2 dollar ho.
@getyoasshome Why can't you just admit Miami has the worst fans in college football. Nobody travels to Miami to watch football??? Wait till Miami plays Florida in Miami, you'll see lots of people travelling to see that one. Just can't admit that UM has terrible bandwagon fans. I just happen to be a real UM fan though, LOL.
i can name worse fans in "college" towns....miami is not a college town its a tourist town just like LA...when USC was mediocre from 1984 to 1996 and up to 2002 nobody cared they all became UCLA fans and they didnt go to the games..miami isnt south bend or columbus....85% of the people that live in miami are transplants or immigrants... miami is not a state school so you're not going to get 50,000 alumni at a game like you would at other schools. its not a college town or an alumni based school.
@getyoasshome FYI: Boston College, Wake Forest, and Duke are all smaller than Miami, and are all private, ACC schools. They fill the stadiums just fine. Just sayin!!
you're either deaf or ignorant (your choice) LOCATION! LOCATION! LOCATION!! where does BC play? in boston? no CHESTNUTT HILL, where does wake forest play? CHARLOTTE? no winston salem...where does duke play? DURHAM, NC... do you really want to debate a college town over a big city? do you need a map, compass or both? MIAMI IS NOT A COLLEGE TOWN!!! if syracuse played in NYC they wouldnt sell out games and NYC has over 8 million people there. use the muscle in our heads here...you know, the brain?
@getyoasshome A)Boston College is in a big city or a Suburb(just like Dolphin Stadium). B) if Syracuse was in NYC< they would sell out, trust me. Stop justifying bad fans from Miami. You are the one who can't see that Miami just has terrible fans. They always have. Florida fans travel from all over the state to go back to Gainesville to watch games. It's not like they live in Gainesville. Get a clue. Miami fans are 95% bandwagon and could give a shit about attending games. It's very sad.
bottom line BOSTON IS NOT MIAMI!! and no syracuse would not sell out in NYC because NYC is not a college city its a pro city, you cant even convince new yorkers to go to st. johns and seton hall hoops games and they both play IN NEW YORK CITY. florida fans travel from all over? like i said are you deaf or ignorant? (your choice) florida is a state school not a private school. you are one that cant see the difference between state schools and college towns over private schools and big cities.
look at florida's schedule its a joke..they play 5 of their first 7 at home...they play 2 straight on the road........against VANDY AND WELL....that "road" game in j'ville against UGA LOL!!!!!! they should be unbeaten every year in that 2 team conference. their toughest game is at bama....the funniest thing is they close the season with a game against APP ST. before playing FSU. you mean to tell me they wont play miami because the SEC is too hard? pleeeeaaaaaase!!
And who do the big bad canes play huh?scrubby schools like Ohio State,Pitt,Nebraska,OU and Notre Dame.you should be ashamed of yourself my friend lol.
you know knightguy11 is always up to his typical hi jinx. hes trying to convince me that miami has bandwagon fans thats why they dont show up to the games...he forgets that its miami not columbus or ann arbor...hell even if i was visiting miami i would go directly to where the night spots are i could find 20,000 different things to do than go to a college football game. yeah i know i should be ashamed i think the citadel is available maybe we should drop ohio state and play them. LOL!!
@getyoasshome It's a shame Florida couldn't schedule FAMU like the Canes. The CAnes schedule Charleston Southern, FIU etc. Why don't we just look at the SOS after the season. LOL>
we also schedule ohio state, OU, nebraska, pitt.....the SOS is based on the BCS which is based on the rankings..the pre season top 25 will be riddled with SEC teams that shouldnt even be ranked like they do every year. if you dont know the formula then i wouldnt speak on it.
@getyoasshome Can you remember the Canes 1987 schedule. They played their last 6 games in the Orange Bowl. 5 home games in a row and then the Bowl Game. Included in those 5 home games were games against Miami(OH) and Toledo. Just a little fact for. Thats the pot calling the kettle black, LOL.
Hey Mr.Kettle, what about the 7 home games Florida has this season along with the Neutral site game with Georgia which is played in Jacksonville?talk about a home field advantage there.speaking of Miami(OH),don't you play them at home this year along with App.State?while we got FAMU and USF who's Oklahoma compared to Miami(OH) and App State.
Refresh my memory, when was the last time Florida play an OOC outside the state?
@knightguy11 oh and the 87 team, you forgot to mention the 5 top 10 teams Miami beat that year.2 of which were on the road against Arkansas and FSU powerhouse team who Florida could never beat.and then there's the title win against #1 ranked Oklahoma who lost only 3 games in 3 seasons(all to the Canes).it's not Miami's fault that we host title games.not our fault that the NCAA committee doesn't want to place a bowl game in Gainesville.not a lot of revenue money there i guess.
@m2diggs We got USF also buddy. How do you schedule 5 straight home games in 1987, thats a great schedule. Just check out the SOS at the end of the season. Florida always has a higher ranked strength of schedule that does UM. SEC is the toughest, you and I both know that. 10 bowl teams last year. South Caroling beats Clemson, Georgia beats Georgia tech, Oh snap, those are the ACC CCG teams, LOL>
How do you schedule 7 home games plus a neutral site game every year?why do you always avoid Miami except when it's convenient for you?SEC schedule is not tough dude.your division is a joke.all the tough opponents play on the western side and the only legit title contender in the SEC is Alabama who you will lose to this year.
The SEC is better than the ACC but it's highly overrated all thanks to the BCS.
@m2diggs The don't play 7 home games every year. FSU is in Tally every other year. Sorry buddy I have to disagree with you. How is the SEC not tough when our middle of the road teams beat the ACC's Championship game contenders. SC beats Clemson and GA beats GA Tech. Come on buddy. Put Kentucky in the ACC and they win 9 games every year. We have a difference of opinion I guess. How is the SEC east a joke when every team but Vandy goes to a bowl??? Fla, Ten, Ga have all won NC's. Come on!!
@knightguy11 Georgia won a national title 30 years ago so they shouldn't be in the conversation.check your team schedule...from 06-10 Florida has regularly played 7 home game plus a neutral site game.I never said the ACC was any good,i'm just saying the SEC overrated.if it were that great than almost every team in the conference should compete for a national title.
@m2diggs Not really. 4 National Titles in a row. Auburn, Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee, Florida, LSU have all won NC's. Why do you care about Florida's schedule soo much, I will never get that.
@knightguy11 Same way you care about Miami's schedule from 20 years ago.and the reason i bring it up is because of shit coming from Gator fans when their team doesn't have the balls to put Miami on their schedule.you Gator fans act all high and mighty..well prove it on the field buddy.we gotta wait 3 years for the rematch?whats the deal with that?
its called tucking tail LOL!!!! its ok to come from under the bed the burglars are gone now. miami is still re building and florida still wont play miami every year they would rather play south florida LOL!!! HOW DOES THAT MAKE SENSE?
3 teams from a 12 team conference has won titles since 2006....so when are the other 9 going to do anything? wake me up when vandy and arkansas comes to the party.
i think mississippi state figures out that they play football not backgammon.
when did auburn win a national title? did i miss something? why do we always laugh at florida's schedule? because you have teams in the SEC with balls like bama and tennessee who will play teams and will leave the south but florida wont do it. they never have and they never will.....when was the last time florida left the south to play a ranked team in the REGULAR SEASON? hasnt been in over 25 years. they wont even play miami on a regular basis in miami.
@getyoasshome Yea, Bama really has some balls. They do play Penn State, but they also play San Jose St, Duke and Georgia State. You do know that Bama always plays 2 and sometimes 3 cupcakes. Funny stuff.
they got bigger balls than florida....last year they played virgina tech, this year penn state.....when was the last time florida played a ranked team out of conference not named miami or florida state? when was the last time florida left the south to play a ranked non conference opponent? i went to the alabama/UCLA game back in 1999 when bama was ranked #3 and they lost but at least they travelled....florida will never do it.
@getyoasshome I like Florida's schedule and still don't know why you care about it. You spend an awful lot of time commenting on Florida. Have a good one.

can someone please explain what offense this is? and what all the positions are? i've never seen a system like this
eschrie93 1 year ago
@eschrie93 Pro Style
GENERALSPARTAN27 9 months ago
@eschrie93
it's commonly referred to as a Pro or Pro-set offense. Very different from today's Two TE and spread/shotgun looks.
justinvpro 9 months ago
Who's talking about FAMU?
Besides, Florida needs to man up and play Miami (FL), instead of Miami (OH) and App. St. I know they play challenging SEC teams, and they have to play conference games, but the but they play weak SEC teams aswell. I guess they just don't want too much of a challenge on their schedule.
adangme 1 year ago
you hit the nail on the head....every team has trouble in their conference regardless of if its boise state playing utah state or oregon playing washington state....no excuses for florida.
getyoasshome 1 year ago
LOL, you guys are still going at it!
adangme 1 year ago
i been going at it with this dude for over a year...but this is what college football is all about.

@getyoasshome FAMU
knightguy11 1 year ago
@knightguy11 Miami has to fill that spot because Florida won't step up to the challenge.neither would K-State,which is why they backed out of a home and home with the Canes. same thing happened with USC a couple years back.Notre Dame did it for 20 years before they grew a pair this year.
Miami will play anyone,anywhere!!!
m2diggs 1 year ago
he knows this he knows the miami will play anyone...the only other team that will play anyone is USC they offered tennessee a home and home and UT turned it down.
getyoasshome 1 year ago
@getyoasshome I see him right now replying "well we play you guys in 2013,so i don't know why your saying we don't step up to the challenge".
Well what happens after the 2013 game?
m2diggs 1 year ago
@m2diggs Notre Dame is independant. They are not tied into 8 conference games. Oh Yea they are tied into Army, and Navy every year, and USC. Just wondering why you guys care so much about Florida's OOC games. I still dont' get it??
knightguy11 1 year ago
@knightguy11 Army and Navy have been rivals of Notre Dame for like a century.ND is not going to bitch out of those teams like Florida did to the Canes way back when.despite USC current troubles, they still are an elite team for the time being.they also have Pitt,Stanford,BC and Utah.four very good teams.
I still don't understand why you care so much about us bashing Florida's schedule?
m2diggs 1 year ago
@m2diggs Oh yes I understand the Notre Dame has long standing rivaries with those particular teams. I wasn't ragging them for that at all. Florida's SOS(strength of schedule) is always higher than UM's. That's why I wonder why you bash Florida's schedule. Miami has a tough enough time beating ACC schools. If I were you I would worry about winning an ACC Championship before anything else. You can continue to bitch about UF"s schedule, pretty sure it won't change anything, lol. Have a good one.
knightguy11 1 year ago
@knightguy11 Florida schedule is currently higher than Miami.your implying that it's always been that way when it hasn't.and their SOS strength is based on a couple of teams within the SEC,not the whole conference.Miami has had their struggles in the ACC because of sorryass recruiting done by Coker.I realize that Shannon has been the coach for 3 seasons, most of whom with Coker's scrubs.last year he went 9-4 with his young recruits.this year they will be better.
m2diggs 1 year ago
@m2diggs I whole heartedly agree!!
knightguy11 1 year ago
the only reason florida has a higher SOS is because of the fraudulent pre season top 25....none of those SEC they have ranked finish where they have them ranked...just like in 2008 they had tennesse, auburn and lsu ranked in the top 15 none of them did anything.
getyoasshome 1 year ago
@getyoasshome Opinions, we all got em.SOS is not an opinion, its a formula.
knightguy11 1 year ago
@knightguy11 How bout the Gators playing 8 home games a year.is that part of some formula too?
m2diggs 1 year ago
@m2diggs News to me, I thought it was 7. I wish we played 12 at home.
knightguy11 1 year ago
@knightguy11 And the Georgia game thats played in Jacksonville doesn't qualify as a home game?of course you Gators fans would say something like that.
m2diggs 1 year ago
@m2diggs Oh I agree, the game in Jacksonville is pretty much a home game for the Gators. If I'm Georgia, I make an effort to get that game changed. I think people love the tradition of the "cocktail party". Definitely a Florida home game.
knightguy11 1 year ago
@knightguy11 okay u and I are agreeing way too much?wtf is going on here?
m2diggs 1 year ago
"why do you care about florida schedule so much" thats a cop out excuse.. ok so if no one is supposed to care then i dont want to hear anyone say "the SEC is the toughest conference" ESPN hypnotizes people that south carolina vs miss state is a good game. its called quit lying and spewing bullshit....the sports media is just as bad as the news media they spew so much bullshit you get nauseated. you hear ESPN yappin about the SEC with no merit...they just say it as if we should all believe it.
getyoasshome 1 year ago
@getyoasshome Who knows. I guess when you win 4 straight National Championships people notice. I have no idea. I don't make the polls or vote for conference strength. Maybe everyone is wrong and you are right. I just like to watch some good football. I really think you are over thinking this. Have a good one.
knightguy11 1 year ago
its called common sense....
getyoasshome 1 year ago
@getyoasshome Common sense says when a conference wins 4 straight National Titles with 3 different teams. That conference would be thought of as the strongest in the Nation. Are you familiar with that common sense, lol. Common sense says when a conference has the most starters in the NFL, that conference would be considered the strongest. Don't ya think, lol.
knightguy11 1 year ago
thats 3 different teams in a 12 TEAM CONFERENCE!!! also only 1 of the teams were unbeaten and 2 of them lost at home to unranked teams....(LSU in 06') (florida 08) that type of jykel and hyde stuff would never work if the BCS didnt exist they would all fall out of the top 10 if they lose at home to un ranked teams. starters in the NFL?? how many SEC players can you name that you would say he is the best in the league at his position? how about 0
getyoasshome 1 year ago
@getyoasshome I couldn't disagree with you more. In the "old" days before the BCS, teams often would win the NC with a loss or even two. Miami lost to Florida 28-3 in 1983(had a loss in 89' also) for example. You are funny. Does Payton Manning ring any bells for best player at position, lol. Dude, get over it. Manning has been at the top for 5-10 years. Most starters in the NFL......strong argument.
knightguy11 1 year ago
i said LOSE AT HOME TO UN RANKED TEAMS! you never seen miami lose at home to un ranked teams and go to the title game. miami lost in 89' to ranked FSU...peyton manning? HES NOT THE BEST AT HIS POSTION DUDE!!! drew brees IS THE BEST QB IN THE NFL PERIOD DEAL WITH IT. hes been at the top most years? hmmmmm thats explains 1 super bowl and a shotty post season record right? 9-9 in the post season and didnt win a playoff game till 2003 LOL!! I i believe because of this guy name tom brady.
getyoasshome 1 year ago
the performance or lack there of of SEC players in the NFL is either from one of 2 things....1. they reach their potential in college or 2. the SEC gets too much media hype and they really are not that good. i'll go with the second one. turn on ESPNU or any ESPN channel and they are all SEC they tried to make a case for south carolina and UGA contending for the SEC crown LOL!!!!!! talk about propaganda.
getyoasshome 1 year ago
@getyoasshome The SEC has tons of top running backs in the NFL, Brandon Jacobs, Ronnie Brown, Carnell Williams, Moreno, Addai, McFadden, Taylor, Faulk, McClain, Just to name a few.
knightguy11 1 year ago
top running backs? are you serious...you named mcfadden? really? does he even play? moreno? brandon jacobs? has any of the guys you named gone over 1,000 yards last year? you got 3 pac 10 guys going for over 1,000 yards and NO SEC BACKS GOING FOR 1,000. even fred jackson from COE COLLGE went over 1,000 you named some has beens and never weres like mcfadden hes in oakland and cant even get on the field LOL!!!!! addai? look dude NO SEC BACKS IN THE TOP15!!!!!
getyoasshome 1 year ago
dont forget HYPE GETS YOU DRAFTED JUST AS MUCH AS TALENT!!! who gets the hype? need i say more. we can go down the line of over hyped SEC talent from audrey bruce to tim couch....
getyoasshome 1 year ago
@getyoasshome Ryan Leach, Andre Ware, Tony Mandarich, Brian Bosworth, lots of players from lots of conferences are "over hyped". SEC is the strongest conference in the Nation. We all know that.
knightguy11 1 year ago
but none is more hyped collectively than the SEC when a player is getting drafted the first thing they say is "hes from the SEC so he must be good" what a joke.....the SEC is the strongest? ok then wake me up when mississippi state and kentucky face off in the SEC title game...till then its a predictable 2 team conference. no parody a top heavy league with horrible Quarterback play and a lot of 13-6 games.
getyoasshome 1 year ago
@getyoasshome What conference has the most starting QB's in the NFL. You guessed it, the SEC. 5 Starters, The Mannings, Cutler, Stafford and Campbell. Just the facts, lol.
knightguy11 1 year ago
and only 1 of them are good....look just face it jason campbell is a bum, cutler a super bum, stafford is eric zeir all over again LOL!!! 2 of the 4 QBs you named were traded and traded for a reason....cutler had 26 picks last year!!! need i say more? the mannings? yeah ok you get 1 with peyton none of the other guys are elite QBs sorry to break it to you. when you start at QB you need to make an impact not just live off of potential....cutler is a bum! campbell is a bum!
getyoasshome 1 year ago
@getyoasshome I guess we differ in thinking. If you are one of 32 QB starters in the NFL you are a stud. You can say what you want. The 3rd string QB on the worst team in the NFL is a stud. Continue to make stupid comments on guys that get paid millions of dollars and play(and start) in the NFL. Funny stuff.
knightguy11 1 year ago
we are not talking about some guys off the street and we would be morons to try and compare them to regular guys...the 3rd string QB in the NFL is NOT a stud....maybe compared to someone who does not play but why even make that argument the idea is to compare them to other PRO QBS!! cutler is a fuckin bum he threw so many ints im surprised he still has a job. you're an idiot to try and compare them to regular people you try to be clever but its a failure duke.
getyoasshome 1 year ago
only a stone fool would compare a pro QB to joe blow off the street...where does cutler rank IN THE PROS?? hes the worst starting QB in pro football!! and after this year if he stinks again he will be a clip board holder. whats funny is how you try to say the 3rd string guys are studs....COMPARED TO WHO??!! me? you? thats ignorant. bottom line is NO SEC PLAYERS ARE SCARING ANYONE IN THE PROS!! that just goes to show you they are covered with more hype than a leonardo dicaprio movie.
getyoasshome 1 year ago
@getyoasshome Opinions. We all got em.
knightguy11 1 year ago
just face the truth LOL!!!!!!!!!! as soon as the NFL draft comes its like all the SEC players take off the super man pajamas and then forget where they put them. no elite running backs, 1 pretty good WR (sidney rice) i mean damn....i thought the best athletes come from the SEC...at least thats what the TV says. miami is one school and they have 2 WRs in the top 5!!! the pac 10, big 10 and ACC rule the nfl with elite players up and down the board.
getyoasshome 1 year ago
@getyoasshome How do the names, Namath, Tarkenton, Bert Jones, Bart Starr, How about Bo Jackson and Herschell Walker. Jack Youngblood, Emmitt Smith. Not half bad.
knightguy11 1 year ago
herschell walker? yeah another bum...you know what walker is known for? he is responsible for being the main guy in the dallas cowboys swindling the vikings into giving them a million draft picks and helping them get the players for those 3 rings in the 90s.. yeah those QBs were pretty good but the pac 10? much better...aikman, elway, plunkett, thats 6 super bowls right there.....not to mention joe kapp (cal) junior seau, dan fouts, danny white, and running backs galore that were actually great.
getyoasshome 1 year ago
@getyoasshome Didn't Ryan Leaf come out of the PAC 10. You must be proud of that one, lol.
knightguy11 1 year ago
yep leaf came out the pac and was a bum....1 ryan leaf vs 10 jamarkus russells? enuff said.
getyoasshome 1 year ago
why do the SEC running backs fall apart in the pros? ben tate...DONE possibly for his career....glen coffee....QUIT!! i mean damn what is going on? the pac 10 is known for putting better players in the pros and the pac 10 doesnt get nearly the hype.pac 10 QBs have over 10 super bowl appearances...lets not even talk about big 10 QBs they rule the NFL with guys like griese, brees, brady, len dawson and earl morral....so where are these elite SEC QBs? no david greene, jevan snead nothing, just hype
getyoasshome 1 year ago
@getyoasshome Payton and Eli have Superbowls, as does Nameth, Bart Starr has 2. Kenny Stabler has one. Tarkenton went to 4. Grossman went to a superbowl. We can play this game forever, lol. SEC runningbacks rule are you kidding me. Who has the most yards career in the NFL...Emmit. There are tons of SEC running backs starting in the NFL, you are funny. I guess Louisana Tech puts out great QB's because Bradshaw won 4 Superbowls?? right. Also Southern Miss because of Favre. It just gets stupid.
knightguy11 1 year ago
actually you cant play this game forever because you still dont understand that on an NFL level starting doesnt make you good. people lose jobs everyday in the NFL....no SEC back going for 1,000??? the bench mark isnt even 1,000 anymore its about 13 to 1,400. grossman? you mean the defense and devin hester got them to the super bowl. im starting to think you dont watch much football.
getyoasshome 1 year ago
this is what you forget you like to play the conference card so dont start sticking up for bradshaw and favre you are the one that like to dick ride conferences not me and the numbers are facts...
getyoasshome 1 year ago
@getyoasshome LOL< you really think Earl Morral was a great NFL QB. He was a great back up. Funny stuff.
knightguy11 1 year ago
a great back up that won 2 super bowls....he actually played....i can name 50 SEC QBs that got hype and never played in anything and never should have been drafted. morrall led the colts to super bowl 3 not unitas he also won super bowl 5 and was named NFL mvp in 1968 sooooo are you drunk, high or both?
getyoasshome 1 year ago
@getyoasshome Just looked at a NFL top 10 QB's of all time list. The SEC had 2 players. Manning and Tarkenton. The PAC 10 had 2 also, Elway and Aikman. Soo Sorry. No Miami QB's in there. 1 Big Ten. 1 Indy, 1 Big East. 1 Southern Miss, 1 Louisana Tech, and 1 Unitas.
knightguy11 1 year ago
well guess what dan marino is in that category and he has how many rings? 0, tarkenton has how many rings 0 thats what you fail to realize nobody is playing the conference card but you...i bring facts. the SEC has horrible running backs in the pros so deal with it. what top 10 list are you reading? passing yards? ask tom brady if he cares about stats or rings he will laugh in your face. uh not that it matters but vinny is #6 all time passing in the NFL smart guy.
getyoasshome 1 year ago
@getyoasshome OK, I'll ask Tom next time I see him, lol. How is Emmit Smith a horrible running back. Bo Jackson, Herchell Walker.....tons of SEC starting running backs in the NFL. IF they suck then all their backups really suck. Dude, you crack me up.
knightguy11 1 year ago
i didnt say emmitt was horrible....im talking about in the league right now...what the hell did herschell walker do in the nfl? you're way off base with who is good in the pros....only 4 SEC backs start for NFL teams so where did you dig that "tons of SEC running backs are starting in the NFL" line at? like i said you dont watch much football. the only teams that have starting SEC backs are indy, cleveland, tampa and miami....so the backups do suck......they're from the SEC LOL!!!!!!!
getyoasshome 1 year ago
@getyoasshome What about McFadden, Moreno, Addia, Brown, Williams, Graham, Jacobs, Faulk, Taylor, Norwood, McAllister, Lewis. Just to name a few.
knightguy11 1 year ago
again no 1,000 yard backs...kevin faulk is not the premier back in new england its laurence maroney FROM! minnesota....norwood? he doesnt start michael turner does FROM! northern illinois LOL!!! brandon jacobs went to southern illinois so cross him out. deuce mcallister is retired, jamal lewis is retired..addai is not a 1,000 yard back. mcfadden doesnt start and is a bust. taylor is behind maroney and ronnie brown splits time with ricky williams. i hate to say it but it is what it is.
getyoasshome 1 year ago
@getyoasshome Sorry buddy Brandon Jacobs transferred to Auburn. Ronnie Brown splits time with Williams??? He's the starter, Both are good. You are funny. The SEC has the most starters in the NFL, thats all you have to know.
knightguy11 1 year ago
see thats where you're wrong and you need to watch more football....brandon jacobs transferred from auburn not to auburn look him up on NFL.com....ronnie brown split time with ricky williams in the pros....the SEC has the most overrated players in the pros thats all i know. all they do is get injured or disappear like so called studs like jevon kearse, kevin carter, mike peterson etc...they never reach their potential or is it they reach it in college?
getyoasshome 1 year ago
@getyoasshome You are right buddy, Jacobs did transfer from Auburn, lol. Boy, you are tough on the SEC players. Thats just fine, we all have opinions don't we. Some of the finest players in the history of the NFL played in the SEC. To put down an entire conference is a bit crazy. Have a great day.
knightguy11 1 year ago
some have opinions.....i have facts....peace.
getyoasshome 1 year ago
@getyoasshome Saying that SEC players are terrible NFL players is opinion. I have read many articles about how well the SEC prepares players for the NFL. Most experts agree that SEC players make great pros. You are in the minority. Your "facts" are skewed. Good day.
knightguy11 1 year ago
yeah that same media are the same ones that convinced people that the ESPN "game of the week" was south carolina vs mississippi state....that same media made it ok to lose at home to un ranked teams and still make excuses for teams in the SEC. in 2008 USC lost on the road on a thursday night and they never seen the top 5 the rest of the season and they only lost 1 game soooooo whos to blame for that?
getyoasshome 1 year ago
@getyoasshome Interesting fact: the first 3 superbowls were won by Quarterbacks from Alabama. Alabama has produced more superbowl winning QB's than any other school. I thought that was interesting.
knightguy11 1 year ago
i dont know if the fact they went to alabama had anything to do with it LOL!!! truth be told the packers and jets were better than the teams they played. thats only 2 QBs with starr and namath....its all the same if i said Notre dame did the same thing but won more super bowls with joe montana and joe theismann winning a combined 5 super bowls...see, in the pros colleges and conferences dont make any sense.....unless its miami LOL!!!!
getyoasshome 1 year ago
@getyoasshome You forgot Kenny Stabler.
knightguy11 1 year ago
again like i said LOL!! in the pros there is no connection to what school you went to...even the miami guys dont hang on to that as much. too many guys in the pros went to no name schools and were 100X better than major school guys you know like jerry rice, walter payton, Ladanian tomlinson, deacon jones, mean joe green, john stallworth etc...i could make a team of 1AA players in the pros and never lose a game....
getyoasshome 1 year ago
purdue have 3 bob griese, len dawson and drew brees so i guess that conference crap goes out the window yet again LOL!!!! that media crap dont work in the pros either you're good or you go play arena league or go up to canada.....if the pros was ran by the media like the college football is the vikings would have won the super bowl....actually the game would have been minnesota vs colts and the game would have ended in a tie LOL!!! with favre and manning sharing the MVP.

you always wanna holler SEC SEC SEC!!! ...you have 1 1/2 good teams...when ole miss loses to a high school team what does that do for the conference? not only did they lose, they lost AT HOME!!!! are you still yelling SEC! SEC!? thats why its almost laughable to cheer for a league.
getyoasshome 1 year ago
@getyoasshome That is your opinion. I cannot explain Ole Miss and Florida. Both played poorly. Jacksonville St almost beat FSU last year(they were up 9-7 with 35 seconds left). The Ole Miss and Florida games definitely hurt the strength and credibility of the SEC. Not sure why you like to be hostile and abrasive??? I'll be rooting for those Canes to beat Ohio State next week. Have a great labor day!!
knightguy11 1 year ago
DUH!!! the credibility of the SEC is shot....this is what you get when you cheer for 12 teams instead of 1.

the NFL top 10 list? i dont know what list you were looking at or what stat but when it comes to passing the pac 10 has 4 QBs in the top 10 dan fouts, warren moon, elway and drew bledsoe so i dont know what you were looking at. miami is one school and they have 2 in the top 15...vinny #7 and jim kelly #15
getyoasshome 1 year ago
@getyoasshome I don't know what list you are looking at either. Fouts, moon, Bledsoe, seriously. Funny stuff. Vinny is the 7th best NFL QB of all time????? thats nutty. Kelly goes to 4 superbowls and he is 15th behind Testeverde....REALLY??? Thats Crazy. Anyway, Funny, funny stuff.
knightguy11 1 year ago
the only stats you could be looking at is passing yards....other than that you must have made up some stats because elway, moon, bledsoe and fouts are in the top 10 across the board sorry for your SEC guys but the pac 10 put out the best talent in the pros thats fact. passing yards and TDs vinny is in the top 10 so sorry to burst your bubble. and again the pac 10 has plenty QBs whether its TDs or yards so what stats are you looking at?
getyoasshome 1 year ago
@getyoasshome Sorry but when you want to look at the 10 best all time NFL QB's you have to look at Championships. Montana, Brady, Favre, Manning, Elway, Marino, Aikman, Unitas, Bradshaw, Tarkenton.
*You have no clue what you are doing. I thought you like to talk about "5 Rings". YOu of all people should know that Championships are a huge part of being the BEST.
knightguy11 1 year ago
championships? i see pac 10 guys all across the board....again TARKENTON NEVER WON A SUPER BOWL!!!!!!!! i dont need to keep talking about 5 rings we all know miami has 5 titles and have played for 9 since 1983 thats a no brainer but you are trying to say the best top 10 QBs but based on what? championships? take out favre, tarkenton has no rings, take out marino and the mannings have 1 a piece to talk about titles you need multiple rings like montana, elway, aikman, bradshaw, brady etc...
getyoasshome 1 year ago
not as many SEC players are starting as much as you think they are....its mainly serviceable guys and offensive lineman they are not high impact guys the best out of all the players in the league from the SEC is patrick willis
getyoasshome 1 year ago
@getyoasshome Emmit Smith is ranked 4th best NFL running back of all time. Not bad.
knightguy11 1 year ago
nope thats not bad...emmitt smith is an all time great.
getyoasshome 1 year ago
@getyoasshome Funny that the SEC has the most starters in the NFL but none of them are any good??? strange.
knightguy11 1 year ago
if thats the case miami has the most players in the league than any school in the country.....are all of them good? no...some of them start too and they are not that good. philip buchanon is still starting and we all know he is not very good. bottom line the SEC is full of nfl bust...i dont even care about rooting for entire conferences because its moronic...but since you guys do i guess you can deal with the over hyped bums they shovel down our throats ever year.
getyoasshome 1 year ago
@getyoasshome opinions.

getyoasshome 1 year ago
@getyoasshome I wish all the SEC QB's could have done as well as Gino Teretta in the NFL.
knightguy11 1 year ago
i know but some of them could have done at least as good as jim kelly LOL!!! i mean damn heath shuler was probably the WORST QB ever drafted or maybe it was all those florida QBs. people forget that the worst team in nfl history was quarterbacked by the ole ball coach....1976 yuccaneers.
getyoasshome 1 year ago
@getyoasshome How stupid are you to think that Spurrier was a bad QB because he played for the 76' Bucs. Just some dumb thinking.
knightguy11 1 year ago
spurrier was a HORRIBLE quarterback for every team he played on in the pros....did i miss something? did he win a playoff game or even reach the playoffs as a starter? i must have been sleep and the only person that was awake to see it was you. it wasnt until doug williams came that the YUCS became the BUCS he was a shame of a QB sorry to break it to you but he sucked.
getyoasshome 1 year ago
@m2diggs Sorry, I know you'd rather be an adversary.
knightguy11 1 year ago
i know its called the pre season top 25...bama is ranked 1 and florida is 3 when they play each other it will be either 1 vs 3 or 1 vs 2 that way at the end of the season no matter who wins the SEC title game one of them is going to the national title game...the pollsters know that they will not lose another game all year to those average SEC teams...its starting to look more and more like a 2 team conference like ive been saying all along.
getyoasshome 1 year ago
@getyoasshome Yep!!
knightguy11 1 year ago
famu? if florida would sign the contract like notre dame just did, like ohio state did, like nebraska did miami would play them.....florida has no excuse..when no one will play you you have to fill in the gaps...florida goes looking for cupcakes, miami has to settle for them because no one will play them.
getyoasshome 1 year ago
@getyoasshome All I can say is stop obssesing over UF's OOC schedule. Not sure why you care at all. Could it be you are concerned the Gators are too good?? There is room for all the Florida schools at the top. Join the party Miami.
knightguy11 1 year ago
no because if the gaytors were so good they would have at least 1 unbeaten season...they rely on the politics of college football to bail them out...its happened in all 3 of their titles.
getyoasshome 1 year ago
I wonder what will come first:
The Apocalypse or Knightguy(Canes fan or so he says) making a complimentary remark towards Miami.
m2diggs 1 year ago
@m2diggs Miami is one of the best programs in college football and I'm so proud of all their past accomplishments. I really think they have a great shot at an ACC title this year.
knightguy11 1 year ago
@knightguy11
that didn't sound genuine.: p
m2diggs 1 year ago
@m2diggs It was, I've been a fan for 30+ years.
knightguy11 1 year ago
@knightguy11 yeah,a fan of w/e team is winning at the current moment.
m2diggs 1 year ago
@m2diggs You are simply wrong. We've gone over this before. I've been a fan for a long, long time. You are dense. I was a Miami fan a few years back when they went 5-7. Get a clue buddy. I was a Miami fan in 1979. Your statement doesn't hold water. Why would you be mad at me for being a Miami fan????? I'll admit I follow the Gators much more closely as my wife is an UF alumni, and we go to Gator alumni events...we also love road trips to Gainesville. I'm allowed to root for Miami though.
knightguy11 1 year ago
@knightguy11 lol,no my friend, that fact that you've consistently posted negative remark after negative remark tells me quire obviously that you are not a Canes fans.what fan brags about their teams fans being bandwagoners?what fan brags about their teams down years instead of their dominant years?you can throw around all this BS about how you've been a fan for 30 years.nobody is buying it.
m2diggs 1 year ago
@knightguy11 getyoasshome and I aren't the only canes fans to call you out on being a bandwagon fan so I doubt we're all wrong about were your loyalties truly are.just because Miami is in rebuilding mode, that doesn't mean you should kick em' around while their down.no fan does that to the team they love.
Your full of nothing but hot air!!!
m2diggs 1 year ago
@m2diggs You are certainly entitled to your opinion. I will continue to root for the Canes. Believe it or not there are lots of fans like me who aren't scared to tell it like it is. Not sure when I "bashed" UM???? I think I have corrected guys like you who put down the Gators for whatever reason?? I guess thats what makes college football so much fan. Lots of loyal fans. Have a great day!!
knightguy11 1 year ago
@m2diggs FYI: you are soo wrong when you say "no fan kicks their team when they are down, if you really love that team". My best friend is from Alabama, just outside of Tuscaloosa, and for many years he would rag Bama for their terrible coaching choices, crappy teams, etc. He would put on his Bama golf shirt every Saturday and religiously watch them, and be embarrassed by them half the time. You are going to tell me he's not a real fan. You are simply wrong. He's as real as it gets.
knightguy11 1 year ago
@knightguy11 So your Bama friend makes fun of his teams strength of schedule?your bama friend pokes fun of his teams fans?funny because so far your the only fan that does that sort of thing to the team that he claims he's a fan of.and I bash the Gators because i don't like them and they are a State rival.
m2diggs 1 year ago
@m2diggs You are entitled to bash anyone you like. I am entitled to defend the Gators. Pretty simple. When I point out SOS. It's a fact, not a bash. Usually pointing it out to defend someone like you bashing Florida's schedule. Are you getting this?? You don't have to like the Gators. Thats what make college football fun. FYI: Yes my Bama friend pokes fun at Bama fans. Roll tide big guy!! Why are you so sensitive?? It's just a game buddy.
knightguy11 1 year ago
@knightguy11 Dude, you can defend anyone you like.just stop flat out lying to everyone.come clean for a change so these pointless arguments can come to a rest.Bama fans poke fun of their team?because all i see pasted over youtube is "Roll Tide!! this and Roll Tide that!!" you calling me Mr.sensitive?Mr. "i have to defend Florida's honor because the fans of my other favorite team *ROLLS EYES* is bashing them???!!!
m2diggs 1 year ago
@m2diggs Why wouldn't you see "roll tide" they just won the NC and went 14-1, LOL!! You are funny. I bet you didn't see alot of Roll Tide when they were down. I went to a game in Tuscaloosa many years ago(I think 2001) UCF beat Bama 41-39. All the Bama fans were coming up to me after the game saying "I'm glad ya'll beat us because we need to get rid of Dubose(coach). True story!! Do you believe they are not real fans??? Good night!!
knightguy11 1 year ago
bama was on probation at that time if im not mistaken....they lost to alot of horrible teams.
getyoasshome 1 year ago
@m2diggs FYI: Pretty sure I never "made fun" of Miami's SOS. Just pointing out that Floridas last year was 14th and Miami's was 21st. (again, defending your bashing)How is that bashing anything??? Come on buddy, You have to be getting this.
knightguy11 1 year ago
@knightguy11 "FYI: Pretty sure I never "made fun" of Miami's SOS"
Oh right that's why you bring up the cupcakes that Miami played back in the 80's (all the while typing lol)when they were playing the powerhouses of collage football at the same time.
m2diggs 1 year ago
@m2diggs Just pointing out facts. Miami was not in a conference and typically had a 3 or 4 game schedule. Hey it worked. Just pointing out facts. Go Canes!!
knightguy11 1 year ago
what the? miami historically plays tough teams...notre dame, OU, penn state and plenty more.

ahhhh nice up load....this is the infamous last train stop before florida tucked tail and dropped miami....
getyoasshome 1 year ago
With a 12-game schedule, there's no excuse for Florida and Miami (Fla.) to not play each other every football season home-and-home like both have done with Florida State. This is coming from a Gator fan, BTW.
marcus813 1 year ago
its florida that keeps tucking tail. after a while you dont take them serious...i been a miami fan for a long time and now all of a sudden that florida is winning you would think that they would renew the series and play every year but by the looks of florida's unwillingness to play anyone not in the SEC and their lack of wanting to travel to play anyone i would say that it will never happen. florida has too much to lose by playing miami and fsu every year.
getyoasshome 1 year ago
@getyoasshome Florida still plays FSU every year, you do know that??? Still don't understand why you care so much about Florida's schedule. UF gave UM a home and home recently. You should be happy UM will actually sell out a home game in 2013 when they play the GAtors. Until then I hope UM wins a couple of ACC Championships. Wasn't the last game 26-3 or something. You still talk about being scared......REALLY. Come on buddy. Nobody is scared of UM lately.
knightguy11 1 year ago
i also know that florida tried to drop FSU also but couldnt because they would have gotten sued...you can look that up. i should be happy that UF game miami a home and home? last i checked florida has beaten miami 1 time since 1986...need i say more? you're still talking ignorance about miami selling out games..we've been down this road before LOL!!! ITS MIAMI NOT GAINESVILLE nobody travels there to see football games. you hope miami wins the ACC? even if we dont UF is still miami's 2 dollar ho.
getyoasshome 1 year ago
@getyoasshome Why can't you just admit Miami has the worst fans in college football. Nobody travels to Miami to watch football??? Wait till Miami plays Florida in Miami, you'll see lots of people travelling to see that one. Just can't admit that UM has terrible bandwagon fans. I just happen to be a real UM fan though, LOL.
knightguy11 1 year ago
i can name worse fans in "college" towns....miami is not a college town its a tourist town just like LA...when USC was mediocre from 1984 to 1996 and up to 2002 nobody cared they all became UCLA fans and they didnt go to the games..miami isnt south bend or columbus....85% of the people that live in miami are transplants or immigrants... miami is not a state school so you're not going to get 50,000 alumni at a game like you would at other schools. its not a college town or an alumni based school.
getyoasshome 1 year ago
@getyoasshome FYI: Boston College, Wake Forest, and Duke are all smaller than Miami, and are all private, ACC schools. They fill the stadiums just fine. Just sayin!!
knightguy11 1 year ago
you're either deaf or ignorant (your choice) LOCATION! LOCATION! LOCATION!! where does BC play? in boston? no CHESTNUTT HILL, where does wake forest play? CHARLOTTE? no winston salem...where does duke play? DURHAM, NC... do you really want to debate a college town over a big city? do you need a map, compass or both? MIAMI IS NOT A COLLEGE TOWN!!! if syracuse played in NYC they wouldnt sell out games and NYC has over 8 million people there. use the muscle in our heads here...you know, the brain?
getyoasshome 1 year ago
@getyoasshome A)Boston College is in a big city or a Suburb(just like Dolphin Stadium). B) if Syracuse was in NYC< they would sell out, trust me. Stop justifying bad fans from Miami. You are the one who can't see that Miami just has terrible fans. They always have. Florida fans travel from all over the state to go back to Gainesville to watch games. It's not like they live in Gainesville. Get a clue. Miami fans are 95% bandwagon and could give a shit about attending games. It's very sad.
knightguy11 1 year ago
bottom line BOSTON IS NOT MIAMI!! and no syracuse would not sell out in NYC because NYC is not a college city its a pro city, you cant even convince new yorkers to go to st. johns and seton hall hoops games and they both play IN NEW YORK CITY. florida fans travel from all over? like i said are you deaf or ignorant? (your choice) florida is a state school not a private school. you are one that cant see the difference between state schools and college towns over private schools and big cities.
getyoasshome 1 year ago
look at florida's schedule its a joke..they play 5 of their first 7 at home...they play 2 straight on the road........against VANDY AND WELL....that "road" game in j'ville against UGA LOL!!!!!! they should be unbeaten every year in that 2 team conference. their toughest game is at bama....the funniest thing is they close the season with a game against APP ST. before playing FSU. you mean to tell me they wont play miami because the SEC is too hard? pleeeeaaaaaase!!
getyoasshome 1 year ago
@getyoasshome
And who do the big bad canes play huh?scrubby schools like Ohio State,Pitt,Nebraska,OU and Notre Dame.you should be ashamed of yourself my friend lol.
m2diggs 1 year ago
you know knightguy11 is always up to his typical hi jinx. hes trying to convince me that miami has bandwagon fans thats why they dont show up to the games...he forgets that its miami not columbus or ann arbor...hell even if i was visiting miami i would go directly to where the night spots are i could find 20,000 different things to do than go to a college football game. yeah i know i should be ashamed i think the citadel is available maybe we should drop ohio state and play them. LOL!!
getyoasshome 1 year ago
@getyoasshome It's a shame Florida couldn't schedule FAMU like the Canes. The CAnes schedule Charleston Southern, FIU etc. Why don't we just look at the SOS after the season. LOL>
knightguy11 1 year ago
we also schedule ohio state, OU, nebraska, pitt.....the SOS is based on the BCS which is based on the rankings..the pre season top 25 will be riddled with SEC teams that shouldnt even be ranked like they do every year. if you dont know the formula then i wouldnt speak on it.
getyoasshome 1 year ago
@getyoasshome Can you remember the Canes 1987 schedule. They played their last 6 games in the Orange Bowl. 5 home games in a row and then the Bowl Game. Included in those 5 home games were games against Miami(OH) and Toledo. Just a little fact for. Thats the pot calling the kettle black, LOL.
knightguy11 1 year ago
@knightguy11
Refresh my memory, when was the last time Florida play an OOC outside the state?
m2diggs 1 year ago
@knightguy11 oh and the 87 team, you forgot to mention the 5 top 10 teams Miami beat that year.2 of which were on the road against Arkansas and FSU powerhouse team who Florida could never beat.and then there's the title win against #1 ranked Oklahoma who lost only 3 games in 3 seasons(all to the Canes).it's not Miami's fault that we host title games.not our fault that the NCAA committee doesn't want to place a bowl game in Gainesville.not a lot of revenue money there i guess.
m2diggs 1 year ago
@m2diggs We got USF also buddy. How do you schedule 5 straight home games in 1987, thats a great schedule. Just check out the SOS at the end of the season. Florida always has a higher ranked strength of schedule that does UM. SEC is the toughest, you and I both know that. 10 bowl teams last year. South Caroling beats Clemson, Georgia beats Georgia tech, Oh snap, those are the ACC CCG teams, LOL>
knightguy11 1 year ago
@knightguy11
The SEC is better than the ACC but it's highly overrated all thanks to the BCS.
m2diggs 1 year ago
@m2diggs The don't play 7 home games every year. FSU is in Tally every other year. Sorry buddy I have to disagree with you. How is the SEC not tough when our middle of the road teams beat the ACC's Championship game contenders. SC beats Clemson and GA beats GA Tech. Come on buddy. Put Kentucky in the ACC and they win 9 games every year. We have a difference of opinion I guess. How is the SEC east a joke when every team but Vandy goes to a bowl??? Fla, Ten, Ga have all won NC's. Come on!!
knightguy11 1 year ago
@knightguy11 Georgia won a national title 30 years ago so they shouldn't be in the conversation.check your team schedule...from 06-10 Florida has regularly played 7 home game plus a neutral site game.I never said the ACC was any good,i'm just saying the SEC overrated.if it were that great than almost every team in the conference should compete for a national title.
m2diggs 1 year ago
@m2diggs Not really. 4 National Titles in a row. Auburn, Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee, Florida, LSU have all won NC's. Why do you care about Florida's schedule soo much, I will never get that.
knightguy11 1 year ago
@knightguy11 Same way you care about Miami's schedule from 20 years ago.and the reason i bring it up is because of shit coming from Gator fans when their team doesn't have the balls to put Miami on their schedule.you Gator fans act all high and mighty..well prove it on the field buddy.we gotta wait 3 years for the rematch?whats the deal with that?
m2diggs 1 year ago
its called tucking tail LOL!!!! its ok to come from under the bed the burglars are gone now. miami is still re building and florida still wont play miami every year they would rather play south florida LOL!!! HOW DOES THAT MAKE SENSE?

3 teams from a 12 team conference has won titles since 2006....so when are the other 9 going to do anything? wake me up when vandy and arkansas comes to the party.
i think mississippi state figures out that they play football not backgammon.
getyoasshome 1 year ago
when did auburn win a national title? did i miss something? why do we always laugh at florida's schedule? because you have teams in the SEC with balls like bama and tennessee who will play teams and will leave the south but florida wont do it. they never have and they never will.....when was the last time florida left the south to play a ranked team in the REGULAR SEASON? hasnt been in over 25 years. they wont even play miami on a regular basis in miami.
getyoasshome 1 year ago
@getyoasshome Yea, Bama really has some balls. They do play Penn State, but they also play San Jose St, Duke and Georgia State. You do know that Bama always plays 2 and sometimes 3 cupcakes. Funny stuff.
knightguy11 1 year ago
they got bigger balls than florida....last year they played virgina tech, this year penn state.....when was the last time florida played a ranked team out of conference not named miami or florida state? when was the last time florida left the south to play a ranked non conference opponent? i went to the alabama/UCLA game back in 1999 when bama was ranked #3 and they lost but at least they travelled....florida will never do it.
