  • I am amazed at the quality you've achieved on this one Mike, even on the wide screen option. A wonderful record of your trip to Scotland, and another very enjoyable watch....Bob

  • @robmasterman Thanks Bob. We lived in a settlement of temporary war time prefab houses back in the 1940s which had been removed when we went back looking in the 1960s. I have recently enjoyed having another look around the area using Goolgle Earth and located where I used to have fun playing as a child. Very enjoyable!

  • Another good enjoyed video. Good quality.

We visited Oban one day in July 2010 and it rained all day as it did on most other days.

To keep dry we went on that ferry to Mull. Reasonable fare, about £7 each, but we did not land there as rain continued and we would have had to stay there for about three hours. The ferry trip was enjoyabll. Great scenery.

  • @TriflingCircle When we visited Scotland in our Mini in the 1960s it was the first time we had been on holiday when it rained every day for the whole week! I can still remember the sound of the rain pounding on the thin roof of the car! We loved the scenery however and would like to go back again some time to have a better look around..

  • Mike, I viewed this two more times and it was better each time. So much to see. Thank you for the show .....Earle

  • Nice one Mike. Very enjoyable. I'd love to visit the Islands and Highlands one day. Very scenic. All the best....Tim.

  • @siobhan104 Hi Tim.I think I must go back again and spend more time in the area

  • I very much liked this, as I have visited Oban a few times in the past. The quality of the video came out very well, I could not tell the difference from a modern video.

  • @newportphotoman Thank you. I too was pleased how things look on screen afer all the processing.

  • A very scenic area, I enjoyed watching the video.

  • @ATSF1927 Yes isnt it! Seeing the video again has made me dig out my maps to discover what the various islands are called.

  • Thank you for taking me on a very enjoyable trip to Oban.

  • @JKelcy I am glad you enjoyed looking around too!

  • you have done a good job with the Video tape Mike, Nice place to visit, I was there 2 years ago, but as usuall it rained, the Coach Driver said that more often than not it Rains there, but very scenic

  • @howarth004 Hi Dave Thanks for looking in. I suppose it could be snow up there at this time of year

  • What was the function of the McCaig's tower? Very enjoyable film!

  • @downhill240 I believe it was work given to builders when times were hard by a local benefactor just to give them employment. It is a striking open circle of walls with green space inside from which there are wonderful scenic vistas to be enjoyed.Seeing it above the town straight away signifies you are looking at Oban.
