Yes the Antenna did survive 100% as did the rotor a Yaesu G1000c and tower.

The system has also since been upgraded and the antenna now also operates on 30 and 40m with the Steppir trombone driven element.

@ei4gyb I noticed that the beam was pointing into the wind. Did you turn it into the wind or does your rotor allow it to turn into the wind? In 1972 I visited silent key Senator Berry Goldwater K7UGA. He had an HF Log periodic on top of a 170 ft tower. This log antenna had a rear aircraft like tail section which would turn the antenna into the wind. The rotor had a braking system that would release the ant in high winds thus giving it a high survival rating. 73's.
