  • how'd you like to see that thing at the foot of your bed at 3am!

  • When I was in Costa Rica I encountered a howler monkey and I have to tell ya... it is kind of scary!!! lol

  • I did not know there are nine currently recognised species of Howler Monkey.

Therefore: BLACK Howler monkey specie, the males are black and females are blond!

Thanks for the in-put! I will keep learning!

  • The noise is made possible because of their large hollow hyoid bone, which acts as an amplifyer. Its actually hidden underneath the monkey's beard. Thanks for this video, its always easier to remember things you're studying when you have a visual =)

  • amazing, amazing video, and pretty funny in some parts ("oh, f*ck!" lol)

those suckers are louder than hell, if you get a gang of em together they can be heard for over a mile

    thanks for uploading this

  • For sure... We spend some time in Playa Negra on our first trip to CR and from the place we stayed....we could hear them from all over the place...some near and some sounded VERY far.

  • @egnilk66 range up to ten miles

  • Males are black and females are brown.

Howler babies are brown ( male or female )

  • Only Male Howler Monkeys announce themselves in the following manner.... look at this video 'Howler monkeys announcing themselves', you'll notice that these male howler monkeys are brown and not black

  • very nice...we saw howler monkeys in belize..little animal..big noise..
