I'm glad Jessica Lange will be back for season 2. I'm sad that Ryan basically said Connie, Dylan, and Taissa weren't coming back for season 2 :( Evan Peters was recently cast in a film with Emma Roberts so I don't think he will come back :(

I know that Jessica Lange will be back for season 2 and maybe a few others but I don't think they can possibly top season 1's incredible cast. There wasn't one actor who let me down, which surprised me because I was never a fan of Connie Britton in Friday Night Lights or of Dylan McDermott in The Practice.

Once Tate and Violet are gone, I think they're going to lose a lot of their audience. Unless they keep them or create a similar couple or something, I don't think season 2 will do as well... :/

I think the idea of a new cast shows that they have balls. I've only seen one other show that was able to replace an entire cast, while still keeping the same setting and have it work, and that show was British. If they can really deliver, and make us fall in love with the show/characters all over again without having the same scenario then they might be looking at a breakthrough in American television.

I guess it's "edgier" or cooler to leave it more open ended, & I do like that in a way- all the possibilities and being able to use your imagination to dream up all kinds of endings/conclusions. It has a life of its own that way... but on the other hand I still want a little more closure with the story/stories and characters! I'm addicted.

season 2 should be interesting either way though. super excited!

@KpopPTFan They're doing something really awesome and risky by making stories in this way. It's contrary to the way american tv is normally done, which is to beat a show and characters to death to make money. I like that entirely new characters will be created for next season. I'm happy to see a good horror story told and left alone. Not ruined with a sequel. That's good storytelling imho.

@switschmaker You are so right. Also, due to the fact that her character and the arc that's involved her actually merits more story.

The only thing that makes the odds a bit questionable are Lange; she stated early on one of the main reasons she did AHS was because it was only a 12 episode commitment. Given that the 2nd season will be 12+ episodes, I question whether or not she'll return in full...if not, it'll be a shame; Lange was brilliant (as always.)

The whole season, we all kept wondering how this story could possibly continue. It wasn't even meant to continue! A little disappointed, maybe it's true maybe it's not, but if every season is as good or better than this, I'm down for it.

Each season will be different. Season 2 will be at a completely different house with new ghosts & owners. That's what the producers have said in interviews. They might bring back some of the actors, but as different characters.

The finale gives us an idea of what will be happening at the Murder House from now on. The Harmons & friendly ghouls will keep the evil spirits in check.
