  • Masterfully done. Love it. Wish I hadn't sold my microKORG now =(

  • Very nice indeed!

  • Amazing performance, props on the skill! :)

A question about the connection though: When using a setup like this, a kp3 and microkorg, what plugs into the amp? The Microkorg or the kp3? Because I know both connect to eachother in the In/Out lines, but which one connects to the amp?

  • @The7thINFANTRY thanks a lot ;) I used KaossPad as an audio effect for micro, so it is the last unit in the audio route - microkorg>kaoss>amp.

  • @Moozig So if I played a gig live, only the KP3 would plug into the amp?

  • @The7thINFANTRY yep - only the youtube film "sample" went extra.

  • nice :)

  • if you want to hear another great song with a plan 9 from outer space sample listen to battlestations by fight like apes

  • Beautiful

  • Beautiful, mate :)

  • man you should record it to at better quality, REALLY COOL !

  • this is purely fantastic!

  • well done m8 :)

  • The sound is just out of this world. Great job! Too often people use the KP3 and/or MicroKorg to make music that just gets on my nerve but this hit a strong emotional chord with me. Very nicely done

  • Really like this, I love the build. You can get some mad stuff messing with vocals backwards. Nice style!!

  • i like !!! ....simple & not overdone

  • I really dig this...its fairly lo-tech, but huge in flavourosity.

    thumbs up-the colonel

  • i love it!

  • @Kra505 thanks ;) nice to hear that

  • this is awesome, reminds me of radiohead. i wish i had a KP3, all im stuck with is my shitty KP2 :'( i love it dearly but its just no competition between them.

  • Nice tune!! I enjoyed that.... keep it up!! :)

  • this is brilliant. so creative.

  • That was sweet man, i liked the textures ;)

  • I've seen so many dull MK and KP videos on youtube but this is one of the most origonal. You realy are using the two pieces of kit to the best of their ability here. Very good job Moonzig.

  • Thanks, pal ;)

  • there are only two things to set up - MIDI and audio, setting audio is quite simple and intuitive, setting MIDI is a bit tricky - but if you have both manuals, it is a matter of few minutes.

  • how have you got the kp3 and the MK coming through the same speakers?

thats one thing i really need to sort out, only ive got emx instead of KP3 but i cant get them both to go through!

  • kp3 is used as a soundeffect here - so the sound chain goes like this : microkorg > kp3 > speakers

  • @reide001 buy a mixer, can get fairly basic ones cheap. run them into two seperate channels in the mixer and they'll come out through the same line.

  • This is wicked! Keep up the good work, love this track

  • Really appreciate you sending me this track, im obsessed with it!!!! Do you have an album or any other tracks? I am very interested in your music, you have influenced me into more in-depth thinkin and make me want to make more music:) Thankyou:)

  • My friend, your comment made my day, thank you a lot! I am really glad that someone enjoys my music - unfortunately, I have not recorded anything new for a year or so, I have terrible bad luck when it comes to HW ... the best way to keep in touch is to subscribe to my channel, when I record something new in future, I will place it on YT for sure. Thanks a lot, enjoy the music!

  • Thats fuckin incredible, i want that for my iPod!!!!!!!

  • No problem, just post me your e-mail, I can send it to you.

  • Very nice production mate!

  • lol i had a microkorg but i watched this last year and it's what convinced me to buy a KP3 too. and now i have the Roland Juno G

  • Nice to hear that :)

  • Haha, I did the exact same, and have Juno G now too. Juno G was a much better sounding synth.

  • Very creative my friend! i loved the moment when you started the video on the background. tnx for posting your creativity!

    cheers!

  • Thanks a lot ;) I am glad you like it!

  • need to do some more mayte you only have 6 vids

  • Thanks for subscribing ;) Yep, unfortunately I have been facing serious HW problems, it really knocks me down. Right now I doing some reinstalls of software and firmware, I hope it will help. Anyway, thanks for the support!

  • this is smexxi

  • Hi! Very nice video!! i've got the same stuff but, how do you sync tempo in MicroKorg and Kaoss Pad? :)

    Thanks in advance!!

  • Hi! I use the simplest solution - MIDI cable (kp3 out, minikorg in).

  • inspiring man ;)

  • wow .. at my kp3 the samples begin to disperse after a while ...

    that sucks o.O

  • Yeah, it is pretty difficult to synchronise them - you have to create the samples of EXACT lenght (I use fruity loops and it is absolutely precise), plus you can hit the "align" button in the beginning of the beat once in a time to wipe away the small timing differences.

  • cool thanks! =)

  • loved it man, one of the more creative!

  • one word...

    AMAZING.

i love it when people just keep pushing the creative barrier.

    you a are a genius....really.

  • hi :) i finally got the microKORG and its better than i thought.. i was just wondering are the drums come from the KP3?

  • Yep, I created some drum loops in Fruity Loops - I do not exactly remember how, I was just fiddling with some sounds for few hours :D

  • thanks :)

  • OMG, You're Amazing man !

  • fo0 !

    disS izZ siicckk ! ! !

i wish i knew how to do thatt witt my micrkorg !

  • Thanks a lot, man, I am glad you like it ;) Microkorg surely is a beast!

  • It gets hard to tell what you actually controlled since you did stuff to the music on your computer first (or after).

I hope I can find a demo where only those two are used (maybe a Kaossilator with it too).

But the song? AMAZING. If you had an album that had this type of sound: SOLD

  • Well, actually whole song (except that movie sample) is played using just Kaoss and microkorg here. Thanks a lot for the support, I hope I will be able to add some new tunes as soon as I finally solve my HW problems :(

  • Beautiful song... thanks for sharing!

  • fffffffucking amazing

can you send me this track on mp3 ?

  • Sure, just send me your email, pal ;)

  • this is just sick man :)

    5*

  • hey can you send me the mp3 download version of this song?

  • yep, just send me your e-mail address ;)

  • ok that was fantastic

  • hi it's me again :) i just purchased the microKORG and i'm loving it! I was just wondering what leads do i need to plug my KORG to the computer for MIDI control?

  • First you need a soundcard or module with MIDI inputs and outputs. The rest is simple, just get MIDI cables. I just have to say that microkorg is not very good for controlling anything via midi - as a synth it is 10 times more powerful than as a controller.

  • thanks for the tips :) just what i want as always. keep up the good work

  • VERY FUCKING IMPRESSED!

    5 stars :)

  • yeah it rocks...

  • this is amazing.

  • Не хуёво захуярил! Молодец пацан!:)

  • Man your kickass. My question is how you learned. Did you play piano? I mean you had to learn somthing from someplace. Music composition? I can put together cool loops but find myself not able to organize it into a song :( trying to learn. Maybe a dumb question that doesnt make sense.

  • Well, I played piano when I was a kid, now I play a guitar in a band. Actually, my theoretical music knowledge is pretty basic, it is more like "the feel" I hope my music school gave me. But all my songs are the results of jamming and experimenting, I just turn the gear on and see what happens :) Just find the machines that inspire you, and it will work for sure.

  • It's tight, dude. keep it up. I'm getting my kp3 soon hopefully :D

  • very creative my friend!

  • luv it! great idea to put the movie sequence! awesome from the beginning to the end!

    good job :)

  • awsome dude!!!!! love it till the last bit!

  • wow, the sample was very impressive.

    that was a heavy track.

  • i love the vocal sample you used...is your band's work on Youtube too?

  • "Way to Blue" sample...extra nice

  • no świetnie... że też ja cię dopiero teraz znalazłem... Moozig to oficjalne pseudo artystyczne? jakieś albumy do kupienia, cokolwiek? czy wszystko do szuflady, tuby i klubów :)

  • Wszystko do internetowej szuflady, niestety ciagle mi sie sprzet psuje, wiec rzadko nagrywam. W kazdym razie dzieki, ciesze sie, ze sie podoba;)

  • I love that sound ! And the idea of including the video is awesome, it adds a lot of consistance.

    bravo

  • that was fantastic mister.

  • Thanks a lot, if you want to download this song, check out my Myspace page ... If the download link does not work, I can send it to ya via e-mail ;) Regards!

  • Wowzers.... Good job mate, keep it up and you might work for me one day

  • :D Sir, it would be an honour, sir!

  • really enjoyed that.. going to purchase a m-korg and was just checkin out some videos.. v-impressed

  • Thanks;) Get that little beast, it is certainly a very inspiring piece of equipment.

  • these instruments are free standing right now? no computer attachment?

  • Yep, I just used my PC to play that movie clip.

  • sick... i love doin' it oldschool--to an extent. also, way to choose the best movie ever. didn't mst3k do something with it?

  • I had to google mst3k - it has never been aired in my country :) That bit comes from legendary Plan 9 From Outer by Ed Wood (voted The Worst Movie Ever in every possible poll :D), yep, there are countless parodies of that flick.

  • amazing

  • can you email me the wav files you used?

  • I am afraid that I lost them long, long time ago :) But it is not hard to create - just few reversed sounds, some reverbs and some delays.

  • That sounds incredible man =]

    I can't wait until I get my MicroKorg =D

  • i like it

  • What kind give us an example i need to get some tonight but everyone i use doesnt fit

  • If your sample does not fit, you have to modulate it - i use fruity loops to do it ... create all samples in the same BPM, it is sometimes very, very hard to synchronise all of them.

  • Nice video mate,

What leads are you using to connect your micrkorg to the kaoss pad ?

  • Nothing special, just standard stereo cables :)

  • sehr schöne sounds!

  • fun stuff

  • Your songs are a good example for using a simple equipment for creating something valuable... dont ask what your gear can do for you, better ask what you can do with your instruments... /sorry for grammar mistakes/

  • Dzięki ;)

  • I love this video dude

Im planning on buying both the microkorg and kp3

im really glad i found this

it makes me want both of them even more haha

  • So nice to hear that :) Let me know, when you start experimenting with these beasts ;)

  • voice cud be laauuder but anyway ...greaat !

  • sick.

  • Tu cartonnes mec!

  • Sorry, what did you say? I do not speak french at all and google translator says it means "you carton guy" :)))

  • Hehe sorry man,i say "you rockz!" ; )

  • Hip hip hooray for google translator :D Thanks ;)

  • Hahaha Google translator suckz =')

  • holy shit im inspired

  • Brilliant.

  • phat my man

  • That was Cool, the voice sample was awsome...

  • I love your choice of vocal loop, sounds and the way you bring in the ed wood excerpt - so slick, tight yet not show offy....very cool indeed :-)

  • not at all "show offy." he cued up that Ed Wood excerpt from the actual movie and it was on beat...nice track all around also

    5/5

  • that was sic

  • that's cool man, keep jammin'

  • So if the kp3 is the clock for all the other devices then can does that mean that it can use the clock to stutter all the other devices in unison or is it only the kp3 that's stuttering?

  • It is only KP stuttering - because I used it as the final filter/audio processing device. When KP is used as main clock, you can set the tempo or change it on the run, other devices should react.

  • So you can use it to make it sound like it's stuttering the other instruments by real time sampling the inputs then? I'm guessing its like the dblue glitch vst or whatever its called? If you can sing into it and then make part of your vocals reverse like a turntable in real time i'm pretty sure that's what radiohead uses when they play kid A live

  • Yep, Radiohead uses KPs (one for Johnny Greenwood and one for Thom Yorke - vocals and keys) both in studio and for live gigs. And yes - it is a kind of "live" sampling on the run - you catch one phrase or sound and you can twist it in many ways moving your finger on the touchpad.

  • that is a very sweet peace of kit!

  • What function in the kp3 lets you reverse vox?

  • In this song I created the sample on my PC (played with a bit of female vocal, added few cuts and reversed it) and then I loaded it into my kaosspad. But Kaoss also has some Loop and Delay settings that allow you to cut short bits live and reverse it.

  • thats soo cool! i love it! is totally different. 5+

  • really nice mate! I would like to hear it reverse :D

  • nice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Very cool

  • Great live jam Bro. Nice everything.... Thanks for sharing.

  • that is sweet!!!

  • this sounds pretty awesome!

  • I am glad you like it. I listened to your song on youtube, really, really nice job!

  • Excellent. Really unforeseen.

  • FTW! It's awesome! You're awesome!

  • Where can i get this song?

  • You can download it from my Myspace page. It is free and it is waiting there for you ;)

  • i would love a mp3 of this :) you made anything else like this? :D

if you amde an album of this quality i would deff buy it!

  • this one sounds so good! reminds me of the norwegian band Ugress.

  • how much you want for that beat?

  • Hm, never though about that. Just take it and write somewhere it was mine.

  • Sweet vid! good job there bro

  • Such a cool song, keep it ooop!

  • amazing.

  • really loved it man! keep on doing... and i am thinking about buying microkorg and kaoss pad as well! :) take care, Moozig!

  • So nice to hear that, I also checked your myspace page, great stuff, let me know when you record anything new! Good luck!

  • Kewl Video man!!! I bought a KP3 the other day, im thinking of buying the microkorg does it have a build in sample banks if not do you know any thing simuler to th Micro Korg with build in sample bank?

  • Well, micokorg is a synthesizer, they usually do not have sample banks, just presets. Microkorg has about a hundred of presets, but I would not call it a sample bank.

  • nice one man..tho insted if your conecting to a mixer i can only use midi are aux cables? soz man...just really want these! haa

  • I am not sure, if I understand your question. You can connect microkorg and kp3 via MIDI and all other connections with audio cables.

  • because im going to get a kp3 because my kp2 is old now...and i want a minikorg to...do i need a computer for recording? are can i also buy a new studio mixer and everything will work ok?

  • You do not a PC necessarily (but it is a help, of course). Everything works just like with your old KP2.

  • can you plug this setup in to your dj mixer? and still have the 1210s? are do you need a computer?

  • It works just like any other sound effector - you can plug in any sound signal, you may only need PC if you want to edit settings and samples easier.

  • doesnt get much more kool than that moozig. your up there with the likes of massive attack and aphex homes

  • that was really great, good job

  • Thats sweet. Do you have that running through a computer or a amp

  • Both :D I did not have my mixer back then, so kaoss audio was running through my PC which was connected to my hi-fi system.

  • Good set up. I'm considering buying a KP3, but I wonder if you could answer 1 question: it looks like you have access to a 4 loops at a time on there, which you can effect separately, but can you load another set of 4 loops in real time, in sync with the clock? If you can, I'm buying one tomorrow!

  • aweeesome

  • amazing

  • Nice one man, really like what you're doing. Good bit of Plan 9!

  • The best worst movie ever :D

  • great sound , very good samples , better than lot of rap songs on the radio , !

  • yeah thanks =D well i downloaded your Autumn Bliss at your myspace. Great song. =D

  • marvelous dude! thats awesome!

    could you help me abit?

i have a kp3, and i did my sampling using microKORG and save all the 4 sample in the kp3 using SD card. and the sounds are all in place and the timings are right. but when i switch off my kp3. And on it back. i know it takes time to let it load. but then when its completely load and ready, i press all 4 of my samples and they are out of place. it really pissed me off. do you know how to like make the timing in place? thanks =D

  • I do not know what exacta do you mean:) If you have your samples loaded on 4 buttons and turn off kaoss pad, they are being erased. So when you turn it on again you have to load them from SD card again one by one. If you mean the timing, you have to synchronise them during the song sometimes (press Shift and hit Tap/range). Hope it helps ;)

  • very nice! sounds great! are you useing your own samples?? is it difficult to upload samples onto kp3??

  • Yep, it is described in the video´s info. I sampled Nick Drake´s string quartet and used a bit from that classic Ed Wood´s film. The rest is Fruity Loops and hardware.
