When i made a trip over to Germany we crossed the border to france and we went to verdun. It was really depressing but it was a good experience

Fort Douaumont and Fort Vaux were probably the worst places of WW1.

Nearly a million men died for absolutely no reason at Verdun in 1916. Douaumont was the central fort in the town's defences. It fell to the Germans very early in the battle but was eventually re-taken.
