Great flight. Good landing. I have a couple of questions if you don't mind. Was it a IFR or VFR flight and I'm thinking of buying the PMDG 747-400x but I've never bought from PMDG and i would like your opinion thanks

Guys, there are a lot of people working for pmdg who spend hours, days, and years of development to create such great airplanes like the 747. They buy licenses, research the world for the 747 sound, panel, the working of the fmc, etc. Imagine what information you need! You think you can rate the price of such a plane? And you keep on downloading from piratebay... Go on, pmdg will be broken a year later! Stop destroying the work of others!

dude why take a 747 .... Its not really a long range flight . if I were you I would use a 757 or a 767 . I say this because if you go to google maps it almost is a short range . for proof: I had a flight from YVR to Biejing it was about 9 hours but guess which plane a : Airbus a330 . see thats a long range .

appart from better soundpack, the pmdg also has got nearly 100% real overhead panel, fmc and so on, it's worth it, if you search google, its also avaiable as torrent download

that landing was so nice i didnt even notice it when you were in the VC (virtual cocpit). but i do no you dont notice when u land unless you hear the main wheels hit the ground in fsx or until the wheels hit the ground and the plane shake like an earthquake was happening. or atleast that wat happens in real life

the strenght of those expensive payware aircraft is apart from the great looks that they are almost perfect immitations of their real life counterparts in terms of behavior and extensive system depth

for example the PMDG MD-11 comes with over 1000 pages of documentation

the developers put an incredeble amount of work in it and that's what makes it expensive

Than I would try the PMDG first. I had cls products for fs9 before and my impression was that these where made unfinished. My flaps where good concerning the Take Off Weight, temperature etc...

Yes, that's what I meant . . gay aeroplanes = good aeroplanes but expensive. I have many PMDG and there stuff is second to none. The 747 is a bit heavy on frame rates but their 737 series is still a very very good addon. I use it a lot. Can't speak for the MD11 but based on others comments it's superb.

You should run your checklists. The gear lever was in the up position. It should be i nthe OFF position. Lower your yoke as well it will give you an unobstructed view of the PFD.

Agree but this is not a demonstration nor it is a course on checklist and correct "reallife procedures". This is an impression of a game played on a computer which I love to "play" with my own freetime knowledge and level of interest on flightsimulation. Period.

If you don't want to spend your money on it, then you don't deserve it anyways. And yes, knowing how to lit engines in this one makes you able to do it in the real one as well. In case you haven't noticed yet it's not a gameish toy. But a very realistic simulation add-on.

Your very right, It is really the best sim airplane you can buy.  Worth every penny. You also get an entire fleet you can download after you purchase the plane. The best thing about it is using the FMC correctly.

You should see the original video I compiled ;). You have to lower your settings to make PMDG 747 work like a breeze. Its compromise as it has always been with flightsims no matter wath the latest hardware may be you have.

I love the PMDG 747-400 X, only problem is when I turn on the dome light on the -400F, the ceiling starts flashing and going all dodgy. Does anyone else have this problem??? If so tell me because I want to know whether it's only affecting me :)

what is the average frame rate in FSX with PMDG???

With 2D panel and a good system you will have between 20 and 30 and sometimes up more. With VC panel it holds about 20 fps but approaching and departing out off complex airports will bring it down to 13fps. Compared with FS9 and older pc systems; it still has a surprised smooth operation with fps below 15.
