  • jaya!!

  • Hard as thunderbolt - soft as a rose.

That's Aindra Prabhu - entirely in the line of vama-madhyam...

  • on Google video, music,

    you can find "Aindra_30nov"

A 24 minute recording the next day. Perhabs you like also that one.

  • Thanks, I found it. Nice! I'm not quite sure whether the kirtan group feels a little bit drained after Kartik or if they're feeling slightly uncomfortable because surrounded by 4 cameras or so...what do you think?

  • It's so common those cams, good change they are used to it ;)

Always fully into the names and music I have never seen them pay any attention to filming devoties.

  • Yeah, I guess one's getting used to it, especially in the uplifting association of Aindra Prabhu chanting shuddha-nama...

  • What does vama-madhyam mean?

  • Aindra Prabhu said in one lecture on Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati Thakur's dissappearnce day:

"Nayana-Mani Manjari, she is a beautiful kisori-gopi, twelve years, three months, fifteen days old. That is her eternal age. She has a bodily lustre; the colour of her body is pinkish.

  • Srila Prabhupada also has told that his bodily colour, in his spiritual svarupa, is gaura-rata, which means that it is golden with a reddish hue, with reddish highlights. So Bhaktisiddhantas bodily colour, perhaps this is why he turned vivarna, whitish and then reddish-pinkish, because it was coming out (laughing), shining through.

  • And her nature, as almost all of the manjaris in the line from Ananga Manjari, are vama-madhyam, Ananga Manjari is also vama-madhayam. Vama means contrary and madhya means intermediately so.

  • Prakara means harshly so and mrti means very soft so. Just like Radharani is vama-madhya. So She has the capacity to sometimes be a little harsh when She needs to be. And she can also be soft. So that is the beauty of the madhya-position.

  • And so, Kamala Manjari is also vama-madhya, Bhaktivinoda Thakur in his manjari-svarupa and Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati Thakur is also vama-madhyam and by his grace, I hope that I may also become vama-madhyam so that I can sometimes be a little harsh when necessary (laughing).

  • And her seva, because we should know something about her seva, what seva does she do. Just like Kamala Manjari, Bhaktivinoda Thakurs seva in his antara-svarupa, Vraja-svarupa, is karpura-seva. He or she makes camphor for the pleasure of Radha and Krsna.

  • So also, Bhaktisiddhanta in his Vraja-madhurya-svarupa as Nayana-Mani Manjari what does she do? She does alakatak-seva. That means that she paints the soles of the feet of Srimati Radharani with lack. That is her main-desired seva. Every maidservant of Srimati Radharani can do so many varieties of sevas but the main seva which she desires the most is that seva. So that is our Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati Thakur. "

  • Wow! Hare Krishna, thankyou so much for this wonderful explanation and elaboration. So there is also line of prakara-mrti? My Siksha Guru i used to live with, he was harsh and soft in extreme measure, not (intermediately so) hard to cope with sometimes but i thank him very deeply now. Actually i now realise that by treating me in this way he was showing me great respect.

Did you notice Aindra Prabhu's glance after 43/44 seconds (and again at 61 seconds)? He must have so much love for Radhe-Shyam!

May the dust of his feet always adorn my forhead.
