  • Then he shot himself.

  • Those of you in folsom (or any prison), may feel as though God has left you or forsaken you. I want you to know (as I am a man of God), no matter your crime nor your punishment, the Lord has made promises for those of you who will repent and believe! If you are reading this, it's not too late for you! Study the word of the Lord, it's where you can find YOUR SALVATION!! May the peace of Christ be upon you.

  • I don't claim to understand the prison experience, but videos like this on youtube hit home in a way that's hard to deny. Thanks for posting.

  • wow what an excellent song...........

  • great

  • what a sad ending to a awesome song write

  • What a tragic figure. I've just finished listening to his Live at Vacaville 1971 album. He was an immense talent as both a songwriter and performer, on par with Merle Haggard, Willie Nelson, and Johnny Case. Strong words, I know. I think Sherley was a model of how a bad upbringing and poor choices can destroy a man. Really sad.

  • He was a great man, natural born songwriter and law free cowboy.
