up untill reading the 4th book i was really undecided as to which i liked the most but after reading the last book id deffo have to go for will! dicks cheats and although mark comes a close second hes still a bit to a prat lol so yh will all the way! best books ever and a really fun vid!

@Cader1dris2 hehe i wont tell! i think its such a shame that they never made films of the 4th book, me and my mum (who read them shen she was little and got me into them) decided tht if we were to re make it now we would have eric banner as mark, orlando bloom as will (kinda sweet but a bit weedy aswell lmao) and we thought of a yound leonardo di caprio as dick! we chose all the others too but they were the most fun! they rly should make a new one tho, it would be awsome!

@littledancer14 aw yeh def! i think it would be really interesting if they did a re-make! You chose a good choice of actors too. Me and my brother talk about that too, if they re-made it who would be good to play in it. You never know they might do soon! it would def be awesome :) take care.

My recollection of the series. . .Dick wasn't trying to impress Christina, he was a common servant, William knew Peter was to be her future wife for her families money and Peter wasn't really into Christina's type. . .but good veedio

Why Mark? Have you read the books? Most of the time he's arrogant, unpleasant and a bully. Not my ideal suitor.

@JaneAustendiamond Yes, I have read the books. I know that most of the time Mark acts like a bully. But have you read Flambards Divided? In this book, Mark is a completely different person and Christina does eventually marry Mark in the end.

When I said Mark, I was kinda refering to when he was a changed character after the war and well, because it's easy to fall for someone like that, a "bad" boy as well as in the TV series. Hope that answers your question....

I like all of the Flambards series but The Edge of the Cloud is probably my favourite, because I like William best. :-)

@JaneAustendiamond I know!! It's so sweet when they run off together (but predictable). William is so friendly towards Christina in the book but in the TV series he comes over as taking her for granted and not respecting her enough where as Mark kind of worships her in a way, especially in Flambards Divided :-) So yep, I like both the 2nd and the 4th book. The 3rd in my opinion is a little suffocating because of the death of William and the fact that she was left with virtually nothing :-)

@somesuperandomperson It is predictable, I agree! But very sweet too. I love happy endings but if it had ended with Christina and Will being happy-ever-after we wouldn't have the 3rd and 4th books, so in that respect it's good that he dies!

I really didn't expect Dick to have an affair in the 4th book, it was quite confusing actually. In all the other books he's really sweet and caring and I wouldn't have seen him as an adulterer, but K.M. Peyton seemed to change the characters a lot in the 4th book.

Well, I know. But it's got to be William in the long term. If Christina had married Mark to begin with she would have divorced him within a few years.I didn't expect Dick to have an affair either, but he knew that Christina had fallen in love with Mark and he was quite subtle, going off with another servant and everything. Im not sure i really like the age differences of the characters in the books/series. In the first book, Christina is about 12, in the series she looks about 27!!!!!!

@somesuperandomperson Hmm, I know what you mean about the age differences. I suppose they thought it would be easier to make Christina older for the series (I think she's meant to be about 16 at the beginning of the series, whereas in the book she's 12 as you say).

Yes, probably. I'm sure she looks a lot older than 16 in the series. I know Christina is young and naive in the books but I don't see why they couldn't translate that on screen. Oh well... I wonder what happened to Christina McKenna, I haven't seen her in anything new recently. That goes for Alan Parnaby and Steven Grives.

I think they're all great - I have watched this series over and over again (since I have the video's at home). I cry everytime :'( when Willian dies. The series = amazing and I love!! :)

I loved this show years ago, and agree with eugeneonegin09, it's William all the way. Even now, I occasionally dip into the books, still prefer The Edge of the Cloud and cry each time about Will's death.
