What two ceasefires do you mean? Hamas never ceased the rocket, mortar, infiltrations. If one slaps someone, is the victim then allowed to kill his family? And even then if you judge the cost of war in lives, it has been 13 to 900. Also what about the financial cost of this war. How many billions of dollars worth of damage has it caused. The argument of proportionality is a valid one.

to compare thousands of rockets, targeting israeli civilians, being fired into israel with a slap is completely ludicrous. hamas alone, is the one responsible for the deaths in gaza. hamas stores munitions and weapons in mosques and schools as well as residential areas. hamas fires rockets from the grounds of mosques, schools and residential areas. hamas glorifies the use of children as suicide bombers. it is hamas that hates israel more than it loves its own children.

That was just an analogy. To show how proportionality is a good argument. You cannot justify the 12 or so civilians killed by rockets over the past few years with the 900 killed in this two week battle. Where the civilians are hemmed in and unable to escape or fight back.

proportionality is an absurd invention. the whole idea in using overwhelming force is to succeed in winning. hamas is to responsible for squandering every opportunity to improve the conditions in gaza. hamas's continued belligerency is responsible for the deaths in gaza.

I think we will see international law change the world. People will be held responsible for war crimes, past and present, and those destroying others living, such as way of life, loss of job, damaged homes, psychological damage caused by the trauma of war, and the loss of loved ones etc, will be able to sue and claim back the billions of dollars owed to them. Businesses will sue for their property. The USA will probably end up footing the bill as they paid for the weapons.

You forget about the over 1,000 Israelis (800 of them kids) that are dead due to Palistinian violence, since 2000. The rockets are a continuation of the suicide bombers, which Israel has prevented by the security wall and check points.

Every time Israel gives up land for peace, the result is terrorism, so what do you want Israel to do?

In southern Israel most of the people are getting treatment.

Israel gave them Gaza to build a society, but instead they have made a terrorist base.

IDK where that number comes from,but the reason more pali kids are dead is due to the Hamas tactic of killing them, using them in tunnels (like the one that blew up a few days ago, due to a gas leak), using kids as human shields, Hamas hiding and leaving the kids outside where they fire rockets, Hamas booby trapping zoos and schools, as well as using them as suicide bombers

While Israel builds shelters, alarms,&prepares her citizens If Gaza had 8 yrs rocket fire, all kids=dead!

Have you seen Hamas using children as shields, paying the parents to blow up their kids, the little kids in suicide belts, the 14 yr old suicide bomber, the Pali girl that Israel saved from death trying to blow up the same doctors that saved her? Israel has had since the end of this war over 64 rockets. These rockets have caused lots of damage and the kids in southern Israel cannot even go to school now (it had a rocket go in.)

The rockets are not slaps, they kill and maime.

What about the cost to Israel with over 8 yrs of rockets and 60 years of Arab terrorism?

Proportionality would have been to fire 8,000 rockets into Gaza with no respect as to where or when they would have hit. That would have been an eye for an eye.
