I don't think ABC fired her for being a gay character because if you look at many of the shows out nowadays there are many gay characters. and if that was so, shouldn't Sara Ramirez have to go too? because now they are writing her ANOTHER lesbian storyline? but its not fair to fire someone when they were only doing there job. It's not like Brooke was gay on her own will. she only did it because it was in her script and her boss told her to do it. blahh. idk this is total crap for me.

I honestly think Brooke was let go becouse she was not "Pretty" enough. I mean she over fourty and pudgy. Look at this skinny, young new lesbian character. Brooke was not fired for playing a lesbian, she was let go becouse she was not sexy enough for the show.

Becouse she was an emergency fill in after Washington got fired. She was the new heart doctor, they had to give her some kind of romance. The show is mainly about relationships. The writers stopped wanting to write for her becouse even though she is tall, blue eyed and blonde..she was not a knock out.

I sometimes hate how the show only uses good looking people for the most part. Look at Christina's new love interest, if he a war doc why isn't he an amputee or burn victim.

and it's just my opinion! there's nothing wrong with that! i think she's horrible! i wouldn't tell her to her face if i knew her but she's horrible! it's my opinion, it's what i think...and if what i say make someone else want to kill themselves then they're not stong enough and their self esteem is pretty low,mine's in great shape and even if someone told me i'm ugly i wouldn't mind becuase i love myself which is something everyone else should do.

The rumors are still going around- basically, it's that she has to give a 10 episode notice before leaving, so her last one would be 5.16 or 5.17. But, ABC issue a notice that it's just a rumor . . . but, um, who can believe ABC at this point?

i love that he got the paper out and read verbatim (well... almost verbatim) what ABC wanted him to say. It was a good way to let the network know, "fine... if this is what you want me to say, i will say it for you" and yet emphasize how unhappy he is about the decision.

He and Katherine Heigl have been great supporters of the gay community. It's a shame it wasn't enough to save a well-needed and refreshing character and an even better storyline.

I find it hardly a coincidence that McDreamy would be put on Ellen (our openly out talk show host) the day after the announcement of Brookes firing, by the same channel affiliate that was the one to fire her...Ellen an Grey's are both on ABC...good attempt to try to quell the roomers that she was fired for being an openly gay character on Grey's. ABC is playing their cards to manipulate the situation in their favor. It doesn't work for me...I ban them!!!

I haven't liked Erica since Season 2 but I had no problem with the Callie/Erica relationship. Brooke Smith is a wonderful actress and it's sad that she won't be with the show anymore.
