These things are beautiful cars, probably one of the best looking cars ever made. But the idiot who decided to put the power of a 500 V8 through the front wheels should be shot in the face. Because for that reason these sweet cars are crap.
One of the distinctions between the 1975 Eldorado and the 1976 Eldorado was the horizontal tail lights. The 1976 Eldorado had a red plastic separator in-between the tail lights, the 1975 Eldorado did not (time sequence 0:51). Look carefully... the car in the video is a 1975 Eldorado. The hood ornament isn't stock either. Hood ornament should be color with wheat..........my first car was a 1976 Eldorado. 1977 is when they went smaller........
@NotYour94Ranger I don't want to look for an argument, they're both wonderful cars, but one is a luxury sedan and one is a sports sedan. They are both very good at what they're suppose to do.
@NotYour94Ranger Nah, I'll bite. You are right though, in 1976 the 3.5L didn't. But the 3.0L from 1971 had 200hp from the 3.0CSi, 20 more than the Caddy. In 1973 the turbo I4 produced 170hp, which didn't matter because power to weight ratio favored the BMW massively, anyways the minute the two cars happened to come across a corner the Caddy would just understeer into a tree in a cloud of tire smoke.

@enigma067 No. Eldorados went smaller in 1979, as the last of the Cadilacs. De Ville etc went smaller in 1977.

@ScorpiusII Too bad a BMW could get the same amount of horsepower that thing produced from a 3.5L inline six.

@czarpeppers Not in 1976 they couldn't.

That hood ornament is off of a Deville, the Eldorado had a solid, colored crest with a wreath around it.
