  • @Bravetimmy, no-one has dominated more than Bradman, Sachin got out last week for 32. Nowhere close to a Bradman score, the Indians rate Sachin better because they aren't educate enough to know the great players of the past. Michael Jordan did not dominate basketball, he was just a good player and Mohammed Ali is the top but not a ledgend. Sir Donald Bradman is something special, he nearly got a perfect average, therefore knowing, loving and dominating cricket. Sachin has a average of 53.4 at t

  • of all the songs you could choose for the opening, you had to choose the worst song from that album

  • One of the great legends of all times!!

  • over a hundred years of cricket and he almost doubles most considered to be legends today. It matters not the arguments; what he has achieved is unheard of in sport, and to achieve almost a HUNDRED per innings, even in backyard cricket for heaven's sake, is just absolutely astonishing.

  • Legend, an overused phrase in this day and age, but not an excessive term for this fella, not one jot. Hewn from granite.

  • RESPECT.

  • You can't put the Don into a modern context and he definitely did not play against the greatest bowlers/bowling sides of all time e.g 80s Windies, 90s Pakistan etc... May be he really was the greatest batsman of all or perhaps with George Headley the first of the truly great.

  • @zubinix - Obviously nobody can be comparatively or meaningfully compared outside their own era. All such comparisons are invidious. However, he was by far the most consistently successful run getter in cricketing history, fact. With a phenomenal ability to play each ball on merit and his insatiable hunger for runs, it is hard to imagine that he would not fare well in ANY era, irrespective of the bowling.

  • The Great And No doubt He Is Number One In Cricket

King Of Cricket shows his dominance

  • sad to see no one adores such a great personality but you get 1-2 million views for other nonn sense videos about cricket

  • Overrated cross bat slasher and not even the best cricketer Australia has produced.

  • @mishmosh007 why write that? If you love cricket I'd like to think you'd pay the greatest cricketer a little more respect. As Ritchie says....."Just a one off". The guy was a freak.

  • @mishmosh007 - congratulations on making one of the most nonsensical comments to be found on youtube

  • Sir Don is the best batman of all time full stop

  • pontings words summed it up best.

  • what's the name of this song! please tell me :D

  • @macca1194 42 by Coldplay :D

  • @BlackFingerFilms shot bro!

  • Without a doubt Bradman was and probably will always be the greatest batsman of all time. I dont see how statistically anyone could touch his figures. On top of this by all accounts he was a true gent. The debate about whether he is the greatest sportsman of all time (possibily is on statistics alone) is neither here nor there. I do feel his name can be listed among the other true legends of sport; ali, Merckx, Carl Lewis, Bupka, Pele etc..

  • Of course I have heard of sachin, and I am not saying he is a bad Batsman, in fact he is up there with the best of modern time. Sachin plays on flat wicket in India, and he is playing in modern times where the bat has changed so much that it does favour the batsman a tad. During bodyline, Bradman averaged 60 runs, that's during a series where the bowlers were basically bowling unplayable balls. Please dont underestimate how great he really was.

  • Hey guys please please tell me all the songs used here and i he was a legend

God bless his soul and peace be upon him

  • One of the most stupid comments you hear about Sir Donald is when someone calls him ONE of the greatest batsmen of all time. He is with fail the grestest batman who ever set foot on a cricket ground. No whos with me here. ????

  • @glebe3047 He certainly was the greatest, but in all honesty, I think you must give more credit to modern batsmen. the bowling these days has improved and Bradman didn't have to face the likes of Shane Warne or Shoaib Ahktar, etc. I don't rate Sachin Tendulkar as far behind Bradman as most do and there are other batsmen that come to mind (e.g. Graeme Pollock).

You're right though, he was and probably always will be the world's greatest batsman.

  • @triplebettslord bowling is not improving.Excess cricket is destroying fast bowlers. There is no bowler who can destroy a batting line up on any day.Pitches are flat, boundaries are slow.Technology helps batsman to know the bowler better

  • @007dalal It is hurting the fast-bowlers, but the quality of the bowling in the meantime is quite outstanding from some. Look at Flintoff in 2005 for example. There are also people like Shane Warne, Glenn McGrath and Muttiah Muralitheran to consider. Those are 3 bowlers who never stopped and I think they were far better than most bowlers before them. Not all pitches favour batsmen; that is a fallacy (look at the English pitches). I can see what you mean, but I stand by my opinion :P.

  • @triplebettslord english pitches are also not that good for bowlers .Only good seamers caan succeed in those conditions. That too because of overcast conditions there.Flintoff was a good bowler but he couldnt run through a batting line up.And if there is sunny England too doesnt favour bowlers.Look even Dinesh Karthik ,Anil Kumble ,Stuart board have scored hunderds there.

  • @007dalal And those were all players who could bat. Look at the situation Borad was in when he got his century... His team was in all sorts of trouble and he was outstanding in that knock and I doubt any pitch would have stopped him from making that century. English pitches seem to produce much lower scores and more movement for bowlers. Flintoff was not the kind of bowler who would take evry wicket, but he could certainly take the key wickets.

  • @triplebettslord the pitch lost all its movement after first hour.Thats why broad was able to make century. And about kurmble an Karthik.they are not even regarded as proper batsmen. And u r forgetting Agarkar was also able to score

  • @007dalal Agarkar has had his moments with the bat. Broad is a decent batsman and he was able to score because he batted well. His century had nothing to do with pitch conditions; he just proved to the top-order that if you concentrate and use some aggression, you can get on top of even the best of the world's bowlers. If a bowler is any good, he can take the momentum from that first hour and prolong it.

What is 'regarded' is somewhat irrelevant. I saw Kumble's innings and he batted superbly,

  • @triplebettslord Only in first hour it supported bowlers.Thats why broad was able to score hundered.Than how can a batsman like Broad was able to score against Amer and Asif

  • @triplebettslord true, I know broad can bat because when he played a for a club nearby he opened the bat and bowling at a sub-district level. it was during his stay in australia

  • @glebe3047 i am

    he's the greatest hands down

  • great player

  • WOW! that's a REAL HERO!

"Play the game for the gamesake is my advice to the ????? coming on and keep your eye on the ball"

(Just amazing to hear voice of Sir Bradman)

    P.S. Thank you Sports & Channel 9

  • Hat off to an Aussie Legend.

Don will always be Our Don Bradman.

  • a wonderful vid. makes me sad to think he died a lonely man and to think he died at all.

  • @1codeking Almost every man dies lonely at the age of 92

  • Are you serious?!

    wtf?

I can tell you that I have practised cricket since i was 5 years old every day for at least 2 to 4 hours hours until i was 32. i am now 36. And I did not practice with a cricket stump and golf ball. Your comment is a little riduculous. nothing to do with a syndrome. Its all about 'practice makes perfect'. Especially when you enjoy practice.

  • @PilotAce74 that's why he did it so much man. cos he loved what he did he loved his practise

  • nah just trhough hard work and practice. that's what creates a legend.

  • bradman is the greatest sportsperson(man or woman) ever in any sport in any era.

  • There will never be a batsman as good as Bradman.. ever!

  • @Chipwich6991 just face it, crickets is a dying sport, only 3 countries play the sport!

  • Australia, New Zealand, England, Scotland, The Netherlands, Afghanistan, Ireland, Canada, South Africa, India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Pakistan.

  • @InkaPeru How the hell is cricket a dying sport its a great sport on the increase. Look at India look at newer countries like Bangladesh and Kenya and its holding strong in New Zealand Australia South Africa and England.

Even Americans are learning what is means

  • @darkdestroyer34 i wouldn't go quite as far as America (and i should know), but i agree with the rest of that comment.

  • @InkaPeru You should invest in some textbooks. The fact that you made that comment means you have access to the internet as well... Which worries me even more. My greatest sympathies to those who made you.

  • @Chipwich6991 have you ever heard about the guy called sachin tendulkar...that guy is pretty close to bradman...buy the time he retire I think sachin will be rated slightly better than bradman...well in the asian countries sachin is rated higher than bradman....i think they are almost 75% of the total cricket fans....and Michael Jordan dominated basketball more bradman did in cricket same with mohammed ali and pele...bradman played mainly against england

  • Sir Don Bradman said,"No one told me how to hold a bat".

  • soccer- bradman wasnt a faggot

  • when i visited australia i played cricket for the first time and i almost died of boredom, it's gotta be the most boring game on earth!!! but I was glad to see that soccer is now gaining popularity in australia, maybe by 2020 australian kids will play soccer as a national sport. The aussie soccer team did great during the last world cup.

  • hey fuckhead go back to whr u came frm u fuckin asshole...cricket rocks n soccer sucks xcept for world cup matches...if u don like it thn fuck off from australia

  • @godfaathr LOL, it's not my fault your government will use tax payer's money to build new soccer stadiums to the amount of 2.5 billion dollars! how much money does your government spend on cricket stadiums? LOL. enjoy your new pink cricket ball , i hear it's quite manly

  • i don know whr d fuck u come from...but listen fuckhead its d national game here..get ur stats rite...cricket is still d number 2 sport in world in terms of popularity...now take d soccer ball n shove it up ur ass....n no doubt soccer is rising here but australians r still d best cricketers in d world n bradman still d biggest sporting icon

  • Get you facts right before you write your comments. You make yourself look like a real tool with your lack of knowledge about the game. Stick to your Soccer and stay away from posting idiot comments like you have.

  • Being an Indian I probably would have a soft part and would say that sachin was the best...... but when you consider the fact that at that time when batting conditions were dreadful....... no protection for the batsmen..... and to come up from all the obstacles and play for the love of the game..... and by god just not playing but outplaying every other player by huge margin is something beyond the imagination of greatness......

  • When i watched this video it had 6996 views! thats how many runs Bradman scored in test matches :P

  • sir donald was a great player , the cricket ball is hard and batters had no protection whatsoever. But you gotta give him a medal for lasting so long playing a boring game. Had he been introduced to soccer as a kid i bet ya he would've made aussies proud like maradonna or someone important like that.

  • @InkaPeru yeah, but if he had played soccer, he would be known as a coward and cheat like all soccer players...

  • Great Player..

  • how in the hell did he get a batting average of 99.94?

    HOW?

  • same question i had a?/

  • fantastic vid

  • there's far better bats today and better batting pitches and the bowlers back then were almost as fast so i'm sorry but Bradman is the best batsmen ever including the ones today.

  • Jamie Packer stuffed channel nine. You only have to watch the news to see how low the station has stooped into the gutter.

  • Best of his era Bradman was.

Sorry, but cannot compare to today's cricketers. Much better competition & faster & better bowlers today. Teh fielding today is also amazing.

Bradman was a man of his time and teh best cricketer in his time.

  • WRONG!!! dont speak please u have no fucken idea about anything. Id say bradman is the greatest batsman of all time, but thats not enough, find any sport, any era any person to have dominated so convincinly. no1. bradman isnt the greatest batsman of all time, he is the greatest sportsman of all time.

  • mate i think you are bloody spot on

  • the legend my inspiration SIR DON BRADMAN.. u r my hero :)

  • Mathematics demonstrates that Sir Donald is powers of ten more prolific in his sport than more famous sportsmen like Michael Jordan or Tom Brady. I would list Sir Donald's achievements as the greatest player in history in his sport. Greater than DiMaggio, or Gretzsky or Jordan.

  • Incredible - the best ever and stands the test of time as the best ever. Incredible that they used to play on uncovered wickets and with none of the modern equipment or protection, and yet he dominated to average near 100. And the fact that he enjoyed it all with a smile on his face makes it even better. LEGEND

  • @OJK78 u guys r right no-oje will ever be as good as victorius d.bradman

  • hey.. what is the name of the song in the beginning ?

  • 42 by Coldplay

  • i wonder how highly regarded he is in india

  • What an exceptional sportsman. I think he is the greatest sportsman of the twentieth century, eclipsing even Ali. All kinds of statistics seem to point to it.

Nice to see the footage tinted - it makes the footage even easier on the eye.

  • loved very second thx a million for this

  • Awesome, thanks for pointing me in the direction of this Matty. The Don was a legend, and worthy of respect world wide.
