i'm amazed that such a young person is listening to a guitar god like Steve much less playing like one, very good taste and technique btw, keep up the good work!!!!! You are and idol in the making :)
Wow, this is sooo fucking amazing. I can't believe anyone disliked it either. Bunch of jealous faggots they all. This was flawless, I wish I could play like you. I hope you get a band one day.
You're precisely the type of person I would like to work with. Skilled, young, fresh eyed and female. I have always wanted to work with a female guitar player.
Carry on rocking, maybe someday we can record something.
i cannot believe 6 ppl disliked this!!! their obviously jealous of your talent!! YOUR ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE!!! ignore all the bad comments coz they're all jealous!!! ur gonna be HUGE!! THE NEXT BIG GUITAREST I BET!!! AMAZIN! worth my time
@LiamT15cp Thank you. I am working on some crazy stuff but it also has a groove. I just figured out how to record with ny Boss GT-10 to the iMac so it is coming together.
@ljames270383 I actually started on the piano. My dad is a classically trained pianist. after about three weeks I told him I wanted to play electric guitar I was 7 years old at the time. On my 8th birthday my mom and dad bought me a 3/4 side guitar
@Godklaw I have stuff I am working on but ultimately I want to be in a killer rock band. I am still developing on the guitar - I have a lot of ideas I am working on.
You have got it, technique, flair and you do it with very little effort. Ignore the detractors because I don't see any of them doing anything that comes close. I had a video of two hand tapping techniques on the bass, I got bashed by a couple of people for not "grooving". Even though those same had videos tryst prove they couldn't touch my techniques. Do your thing you are a natural talent.
@PalParkTigers My dad is a classically trained pianist he does not play the guitar. Really I am self taught. When I was 8 years old I had a teacher for about 8 months then I went to a music school for awhile - to play in a band format but no real teaching there.
with the talent you have, you should work on making a better recording, in order to showcase yourself. you have too much talent to allow yourself to sound like that. i hope you find success, however you define it.
@cheezyridr I figured out in the last week or two how to connect my Boss GT-10 to my iMac and record in garage band (I have version 3) - I can also import on to a video track so I hope to be using this as my recording technique in the future
@Hypermantrasoul About one hour a day. But my practice is very focused - I cover a lot in the one hour. I start off with about 70 very difficult exercises most of which I wrote - that takes about 7 to 10 minutes then guitar songs then work on new stuff - new techniques ideas tones etc.
your great and you should call ibanez and tell themto watch your video then ask them to endorse you or yall go somewhere else steve vai also has his own youtube channel i would post it on his maybe he could talk to ibanez for you keep the chops kid you rock
My God damn, Taylor. Terrific job on this cover. I think you played every note on your guitar and then twice that !! hahaha. Thanks for sharing and great upload : D Good day to you.

You say you don't like Jazz, but it would be great practice for you with all the good progressions and changes. Maybe as you get older it might grow on you. Most all the Jam Band music has Jazz roots. Love to hear what you would do with some Freddie King blues tunes. Would help with that feel thing some folks think you need to embrace. Great work, keep on Rockin'....
@carlocases I've started playing some blues - blues scales, Brush with the Blues by Jeff Beck, The Sky is Cryin by SRV, Red House by Jimi Hendrix by Jimi Hendrix - I have a much better connection with the Blues than Jazz
it would be great fun to see u go into a Guitar Center and be like just playing it off like oh, is this a guitar, where does it plug into..oh ...and then have u wailing like that lol...that would be an extreme video!
Excellent! You have a promising music career ahead of you. Your technique is very precise. I'd recommend trying a cover of Vai's "Tender Surrender" with an emphasis on dynamics, tone and expression.
Yo chill out and give us some smooth groovy stuff. This shredding is more than impressive, but damn, relax haha. All n all, purely amazing. Good luck finding your Victor Wooten
@1W3S7EY1 Shredding is one way of developing mechanically on the guitar. I am also working on rhythm guitar, percussive guitar, elements of flamenco guitar - old school funk guitar stuff...not really into Jazz - but love Al Demeola and Alan Holdsworth.
@johntg123 I completely agree about developing your skill, but on the other hand, id like to see what you can do with a down tempo rhythm, something like John Mayer. Tho i hate him as a person, he can sure play.

U OWN A BOSS GT-10 WITH BUILT IN INTERFACE, SO Y U NO PLUG IT INTO THE COMPUTER 2 RECORD!?
You really do play so well, I really can't fault you. So with very little effort you can make your videos far more professional. It'll sound sexist, I know, but there are so many disappointing video entitled things like 'amazing girl guitarist', and you're by far the best I've seen! Keep it up!
@malagutial I know the Boss GT 10 has that but I can not get it to work. I plug it in and I am suppose to look for some drivers etc. Even if hooked up how can I do audio and video in sync?
@johntg123 well i use a driver called ASIO4ALL too detect the input jack on my PC you need too make sure that the option *always resample 44.1kHz 48kHz* is selected
for a recording program either Reaper or Audacity
i dont know if i explained enough but im more than happy too help :)
@johntg123 "how can I do audio and video in sync?" It's called a clap, or a mark. Some kind of motion that makes a sound so you know where the video starts then you just sync the motion of that clap with the sound of the clap to sync the video in any editing program. If you don't want to buy or make a simple movie clap you can simply "clap" your hands in front of the camera to mark the point where you sync the audio and video.
@johntg123 you can use sony vegas pro to sync your video and audio.. its very easy to use... :) btw, nice playing... you play far better than me.. lolz
Very cool cover you chose and well played Taylore,I was wondering which electric guitar do you use?.I've also seen you use different guitars throughout your video collections so that's why I'm asking,If u could reply me on messages or smth : )
Your wonderful!! I am AMAZED that people would give you advice your technique!! I can here someone tell Steve Ray he need to improve his technique, or Eddie Van Halen, or Brian May, you people who invented stuff we all copy today!!
@Alphonso626 Yes. I have an endorsement deal with Daisy Rock - they provide me with a pass but they are not having performers this year. Last year I played at the EVH5150 area - played Eruption and Eruption Backwards on a Wolfgang running through EVH gear - pretty cool. Since I now have a mesa boogie Half stack I will go by their booth also. I am going Friday and Saturday
@keyboardfanatic1 Ok but don't the guitar players who use what you would consider great technique also hit a wall? If I can basically play anything I want with ease, where is the wall? You a keyboardist?(keyboardfanatic) Have you ever heard of Art Tatum? He had terrible technique but is considered the greatest Jazz Pianist of all time - even great classical pianists of his time - Rubinstein, Horowitz were in awe of his playing. He just played in a manner that was natural to him.
taylor.. you read this and ill be suprised but DAMN. iv watched ur practice song u made up. and thought "hmm shes pretty good. wait wats this?" i clicked this video and im actually blown away ha. (: u definately should respond to this because your actually an amazingly talented musician. i play guitar. been playing for like half a year. i just play like just like from GnRs to acdc to metalica. no where near your skill. but still respond aha. trust me, im not creepy. but im fun to talk to:) dareu
i'm so sorry but i cant give you a positive comment like everybody else. even if you are able to play steve vai or aything that involves shredding you should get good technique( by the way i saw your guitar exercise and all you're doing is develop bad habbits that will mess your guitar learing) my suggestion: go have guitar classes( beacuse i doubt you've had any), jazz in particular if you can, and you'll see the difference in your playing. besides that, keep rockin
@franciscomendonca8 And i think you're wrong, technique will come in time (although i see nothing wrong with her technique) and she doesn't need classes, it'll just be waste of her time and the tutors because they will most likely tell her she's too advanced for lessons anyway (which she is). You're awesome Taylor, Keep on rocking!
@master18666 Thank you for your kind words. I simply don't care about technique - if I like the way I play it and it sounds the way I want it too - I am done. There is always someone who is going to be negative about something - that is the way youtube is! thanks again
@master18666 in her case perfection technique won't come so easily, that was exactly my point. shes already so advanced that it will be much more difficullt to correct small or even major errors). the point is: imagine you're starting driving lessons and when you get there the instructor will tell you- even though you know how to drive(really well) you're not doing it properly and it will be much more difficult for said person to renounce bad habbits. see any connection?
@franciscomendonca8 If proper technique makes playing the instrument easier and I played The Attitude Song (note-for-note) with bad technique - that makes my way of playing it harder then the way Steve Vai played it! lol I can dig it.
@johntg123 Screw the people whining about the technique... I play drums, keyboards and I'm a singer (not a guitarist) so I might not be the right person to judge this. But hell, I don't see any technical issues? You're not extremely bent while playing or anything. Technique will develop when exercising certain songs or your own work and will progress since you just want to be able to play this or that... will come naturally. I vote for more original work! Everything for metal \m/
@franciscomendonca8 I believe technique is a waste of time - I play in a manner that works for me. Jimi Hendrix did not have great technique but doubt his skill and ability? - same with Art Tatum and many many others. Just don't care about technique...I guess in your eyes there is no hope for me lol
@johntg123 first of all, wasn't trying to be negative, just saying what i think( i believe youtube lets you do that :p). and if you have that idea on technique i'm really sorry. What i was trying to say is that If you train your hands to be accurate and avoid small tendencies like most have, not only will you play faster but you'll be more focused in putting more soul and feel into your play and you would only benefit in doing that. hope you get my point, was only trying to help
@flamingfishbone I am finishing up a piece I wrote called "Fun House" the idea is many oddities on the guitar in the piece like when you go to fun house and see odd things. I am also working on a new exercise like Game Changer - this one will be called Game Master. I will use much better guitar tone and recording techniques. Thank you for your comments - got to do my thang!!!!!!
@johntg123 Sounds awesome, Buckethead-ey in a way, I dig it!! Big fan of "noise"stuff like that, as well as the more guitar riff&solo-heavy sound, so I'm curious to see how you'll work that out, I'm sure I'll dig it though. Heck yeaaaa do it!
HI , I just saw your new video , and IS GREAT , keep going like this Taylor ... hey can you do me A BIG FAVOR !! ( I know that we don't know each other ) but you have talent ... next time try play " die with the boots on " of iron maiden , ok , I want to see IF you can play some of iron maiden or some motorhead , takecare and HAPPY NEW YEAR ..
@decacrimie Ultimate Guitar is great but you have to be careful. I have been getting a subscription to Guitar World magazine for about five years now - their tabs are excellent. You can also get tabs on their website for free.
Taylor, you have gone from a technical player needing to clean up, to a real guitarist with amazing ability and style! I will certainly be looking out for your new stuff now! Andrew
I was wondering if you were ever going to post anything new. This is amazing, as I would expect nothing less from you. Keep them coming and thank you for being such an inspiration for me :-)
@johntg123 You're welcome Taylor. I know you must be a busy young lady so whenever you get a chance to post something new, I will be so looking forward to it. Thanks again!

@berthunteri I use a Rock Candy Xtreme made by Daisy Rock - it has a badass floating Floyd Rose System which is pretty cool.

Your wonderful!! I am AMAZED that people would give you advice your technique!! I can here someone tell Steve Ray he need to improve his technique, or Eddie Van Halen, or Brian May, you people who invented stuff we all copy today!!

Are you going to be at NAMM this year? If so, where and when?
Alphonso626 2 months ago

(: u definately should respond to this because your actually an amazingly talented musician. i play guitar. been playing for like half a year. i just play like just like from GnRs to acdc to metalica. no where near your skill. but still respond aha. trust me, im not creepy. but im fun to talk to:) dareu

@VelrixServer Thank you. Angus Young is still one of my all time favorite guitarists and of course Kirk Hammitt and Slash are excellent as well.
johntg123 2 months ago
i'm so sorry but i cant give you a positive comment like everybody else. even if you are able to play steve vai or aything that involves shredding you should get good technique( by the way i saw your guitar exercise and all you're doing is develop bad habbits that will mess your guitar learing) my suggestion: go have guitar classes( beacuse i doubt you've had any), jazz in particular if you can, and you'll see the difference in your playing. besides that, keep rockin
franciscomendonca8 2 months ago
@franciscomendonca8 And i think you're wrong, technique will come in time (although i see nothing wrong with her technique) and she doesn't need classes, it'll just be waste of her time and the tutors because they will most likely tell her she's too advanced for lessons anyway (which she is). You're awesome Taylor, Keep on rocking!
master18666 2 months ago 35
@master18666 Thank you for your kind words. I simply don't care about technique - if I like the way I play it and it sounds the way I want it too - I am done. There is always someone who is going to be negative about something - that is the way youtube is! thanks again

@master18666 in her case perfection technique won't come so easily, that was exactly my point. shes already so advanced that it will be much more difficullt to correct small or even major errors). the point is: imagine you're starting driving lessons and when you get there the instructor will tell you- even though you know how to drive(really well) you're not doing it properly and it will be much more difficult for said person to renounce bad habbits. see any connection?
franciscomendonca8 2 months ago
@franciscomendonca8 If proper technique makes playing the instrument easier and I played The Attitude Song (note-for-note) with bad technique - that makes my way of playing it harder then the way Steve Vai played it! lol I can dig it.
johntg123 2 months ago

Just don't care about technique...I guess in your eyes there is no hope for me lol
johntg123 2 months ago
@johntg123 first of all, wasn't trying to be negative, just saying what i think( i believe youtube lets you do that :p). and if you have that idea on technique i'm really sorry. What i was trying to say is that If you train your hands to be accurate and avoid small tendencies like most have, not only will you play faster but you'll be more focused in putting more soul and feel into your play and you would only benefit in doing that. hope you get my point, was only trying to help
franciscomendonca8 2 months ago
@johntg123 Don't be stupid, don't you know that if you don't go the same road everyone else you're going to fail at everything ever?
Just kidding. Forget the haters. Do your thing.
Btw, more originals!!

Thank you for your comments - got to do my thang!!!!!!
johntg123 2 months ago
@johntg123 Sounds awesome, Buckethead-ey in a way, I dig it!! Big fan of "noise"stuff like that, as well as the more guitar riff&solo-heavy sound, so I'm curious to see how you'll work that out, I'm sure I'll dig it though. Heck yeaaaa do it!

@decacrimie Ultimate Guitar is great but you have to be careful. I have been getting a subscription to Guitar World magazine for about five years now - their tabs are excellent. You can also get tabs on their website for free.
