When i first began to notice men, I had a crush on Chow Yun-fat. He is so handsome and masculine I still love his movies, and this is one of my favorites. He is versatile, so he can play comedy roles too, e.g. "Fractured Follies"
LoL can't stop cracking up at 0:54, completely off guard. "Fuck youuuu!!" I love Chow Yun Fat & John Woo. They should make more movies like this one, Hardboiled & Big Hit.
For some, you could try the 'A Better Tommorow' series. Try watching 'Hard Boiled' too. For english films, try Face/Off and Mission Impossible 2! John Woo is a legend in the action genre
haha that explosion was alot more than he expected obviously, if he's thinking in realistic terms a hand grenade isn't going to blow a whole 2 story house up... i bet he thought it was gunna be a tiny blast and instead the whole fucking place blew up
You can tell Chow Yun-Fat hates guns really cos he blinks so much when he's firing them, its weird that he still manages to look so damn cool with them in is hands though, he's the man, best Hong Kong actor IMO, love him!
Chow Yun Fat fucking rules, he such a legend. Hong Kong action movies of the 80's were the bomb! Double Beretta's are like trademarked by Woo and Fat, infact im gonna go watch A Better Tomorrow right fuckin now! Then im gonna play lego and then im ...
Well I don't want to spray people in real life with guns, only in games & watching movies. Then again, I'm not so kid anymore so I don't know. But I think these kind of movies are rated K-18 nowadays, kids really shouldn't watch them.
I don't know if that was stunt gone bad, because it looked like it was Chow himself throwing that grenade into the house, then he sort of didn't like the explosion he dropped his gun ?
Nah, the whole point is that the explosives (home made) are a lot more powerful that he thought so he wasn't expecting such a big explosion. He runs because his jacket is full of the explosives and he doesn't feel like becoming the human explosion before the job is done.
no.2 sucked imo. i wish teenagers nowadays who watch the matrix know where the inspiration comes from. the trenchcoat and the modern day mexican standoff was inspired by John Woo.
Could you go into a little more detail on this. Seems to me that, granted Kurosawa is a genius, but for movie violence, especially gun violence, Sam Peckinpah had a bigger influence.
It doesn't happen often, but if you live near a good movie town with cool theaters they happen every once in a while. It's been years since I've seen something like that on the big screen.

I meant I don't know what goes thru kids minds if they watch these kind of movies.

I guess these movies do influence kids to spray their machine guns at people. Life imitating art. What do you guys think?
jax633 4 years ago

Ya it's true they botched the explosion. But good old Chow-Yun-Fat still made that scene look phenomenal.

John Woo is where it all begins. If you people try to give Akira Kurosawa credit you mind as well go back to the old western cowboy films.
