This is one of the greatest gospel albums ever made...and James Blackwood told me once that the entire album was recorded in one day. You won't find another group that can do that.
I had so many of these old albums and played them over and over again. I lost them all December 18, 1987 when our house burned down. Thank you for posting them!
How nostalgic to hear this fabulous group sing. They were so far ahead of their time. No group, except the Statesmen, have ever achieved this excellence!
This medley is from the album THE STRANGER OF GALILEE. This album is the very first southern gospel album I ever remember hearing, in 1967. I was intrigued by the piano-playing, and it led directly to me learning how to play the piano, a skill I have used to much profit in the 43 years since. Thanks so much for posting this!
