Just finished watching it - insanely brutal, claustrophobic and bleak - and a quite scathing portrait of post war Japan. Fukasaku was a genius (he did Battle Royale too, the creative vein is the same)
I think I may have seen this movie before but I thought it was called "An Honourable Grave" or something, is this the same movie that at the end he marries the sick woman and dies 10 days later, and at the end of the movie thinking that he's invincible jumps off the roof and dies in a brutal fashion?
