  • do they attach to the receiving plane or just kind of spray it in?

  • Travis AFB FTW!

  • Um, that is not a KC-10 refueling. That is a KC-135 refueling several F-15's. I use to fly on a KC-10 and know that the stabalizer fins nothing nothing of the sort.

  • @crazyfish1us welcome to youtube where everyone is an expert

  • haha its fucking hard in ace combat so im guessing its near impossible in real life. but then again.. with tech it might be easier. either way military pilots are genius fliers

  • @dkdeden With the Airforce they're getting some help from the tanker and the winged fuel rod. In the "Navy, it is all up to the aviator to fly their prod into the little basket.

  • @dkdeden try it in a simulator like falcon 4\open falcon

  • I wonder if it hard for the pilot to keep up and get in the right position............

  • Check out the meatballs on the F-15, that's a Japanease airplane.

  • @kdraper2007 You're right. Those are JASDF.

  • the Extender boom is a bit different from the Stratotanker, so we can say that is a Stratotanker.

  • KC135 and an F-22 or something

  • No it's a KC 10 refueling a F15 eagle or strike eagle considering the bombs on the F15.

  • those are droptanks not bombs

  • it is a KC135

  • that's a KC-135, you can tell by the refuel boom wings. the F-15 is a C model with external fuel tanks.

  • wow looks hard.

hah when i was a kid and saw how it was done, i always thought the plane would lock on to the tanker and just sit there in cruise control xD

you really do have to keep it steady the entire duration of the refuel. that is tough work. absolutely no room for error either. awesome job flyboys =D

  • If anyones curious thats an F-15J, the JASDF varient that the US exports to Japan.

Cant tell if thats a KC-135 though, I know both the 10 and 135 can be equipped with booms though.

  • dont need to land

  • That's definately a KC-135 Stratotanker. You can tell by the ruddervators on the boom.

  • Is it hard to be a flight refueling boom operator?

  • What is the main point of refueling in the air?

  • it extends the range and or.. airtime creating a more lethal fighting machine

  • damn how small braaaaain can ya get. duh its so they can fly over longer distance. like if they fly from denmark and around the world quick they do midair refuel and dont land. thats the whole idea. moron duuuuh!

  • Are you serious?

So you don't have to land to get gas. i.e over the ocean, to avoid conflict in the air from the ground, etc.

  • this isn't a kc-10, its a '135.
