@madmanninc But you lost against farmers and peasants and a few professional soldiers, while all of the British army were professional soldiers, but yeah we would of lost without the French, but soldiers should be able to crush farmers and peasants.
@madmanninc hah i can't argue with that but would you want to march into an poen field and fire your musket at an enemy line that only 50 yards away? Come on, you can't blame us. You know you wouldn't be out in that field in the open, hah.
@madmanninc honestly have no idea who the genius was who developed the smooth-bore musket, its his fault that they had to fight in the open fields to actually hit each other.
I don't know why he says American army.They wern't called an American army but iregulars. They wern't called American because they were basically British, accent and everything/
@grobo11 it was an army, because we formally recognized it as an army ourselfs. doesnt matter what the enemy thinks of us. hell even the marine corps is older than our country.
The instructor did a great job! Hope those kids learned something more than just how a musket worked. Probably not. Those who fail to learn from history are doomed to repeat in it summer school, or in real life........ That's the main reason for the second ammendment. It backs up ALL the other rights and freedoms!
The Americans were actually trained to pay attention and aim as best as they could at the target. Yeah the guns weren't accurate, but by actually aiming down the barrel at the center of mass of the human target, your chances of hitting some part of the body are greater...hence "take aim" vs. "present". The Americans were either taught that way from the French or Steuben who trained the Army.
@sean100main No what i am getting at is that the weapon is not a rifle therefore it has no assist in the direction of travel apart from the general direction of the barrel therefore you cannot aim the shot. So by technicality saying take aim is pointless, yet obviously when anyone 'presents' the weapon they will line up the weapon with the target. Its all technicality not what it obviously is.
Lovin the Brown Bess musket yeah the rifle was used for scouters and rifle men who would go on ahead of the main army, maybe picking off a few officers in the process. =)
is it possible to communicate with you . I need some help. I am making a movie.Thanks

@cptmiche Well no, it wasn't the US army. It was the continental army made up of British colonials and slaves.

@grobo11
so the us army historians that claim their organization was formed in 1775 are wrong according to you

@grobo11
look at the fucking us army seal
or even the US Marine Corps' seal
they all say Est. 1775
Sturmmann 1 year ago
@Sturmmann Are you kidding me? There were no Navy Seals in 1775.
grobo11 1 year ago
@grobo11
if you have read your stuff, you would know that the Navy Seals were a relatively new unit under the Navy's command, not the Marine Corps'.
We had a Navy and Marine Corps as early as the summer of 1775, (Marines in the fall of the same year)
The Marine Corps celebrates its establishment every Nov 10th, 235 years of service so far.

Lol how Americans sed 'take aim' British sed 'present'...its funny cos u cant aim a musket so saying take aim is pointless... they have no sights.

@RetardedPickle Actually, the bayonet lug can be used as a sight to aid in the aiming of the weapon.
