  • Always nice to hear (and see..) him!

    BOBBY VEE, BUDDYS SONG

  • what a great song and gift

  • We spoke to Bobby Vee when he was in Las Vegas. He told us about how he got his start. It was so tragic. He said the day Buddy was killed, that night the audience was asked if anyone could sing to fill in. Music just hasn't been the same since those days.

  • the tune is "Peggy Sue got Married"

  • When brother was living he would converse with Buddy Holly's brother...brother and I we're great Buddy Holly fans.Bobby had great songs also...

  • This is a clip from British TV "Ready Steady Go"

  • Met bobby vee lastnight he n Fabian performed for a benefit concert..they were awesome n they both were so willing to give...it will always be a great honor for me to say i met them...

  • great cover from a hit by our Buddy Holly

    Buddy Holly is the best¡¡¡

  • Bobby Vee was the artist who filled in for Buddy Holly after the music died in cedar Lake Iowa on 2/2/59 Ironic isnt it that Bobby vee had more hits than Charles hardin Holley and yet when Vee tried to make a comeback with acoustic versions of some of his songs they went nowhere Robert thomas Velline aka Bobby Vee will always remain one of the great sixties teen stars!!!.

  • @miketheshanmanmangan: But, yet look at the Everly Brothers with only 2 ACOUSTIC guitars and beautiful voices. It is now Don's 74th birthday and they both are still performing.

  • Bobby Vee and the Sadows really hit it big off the Buddy Holly craze. Bobby Vee did a great job fising from an unknown amature to a star in a couple years.

  • Just saw Bobby perform with his sons and band Saturday night. What a great , fun show..sold out and it was just as much fun as the late 50's. Talked with him after the show. Such a nice guy and married to the same woman 45 years. Wow

  • Bobby Vee is fabulous - so is his youngest son Robby!

  • I just noticed that girl with the beaded necklace who elbowed her way across the room to be next to Vee. Smart girl.

  • Buddy will have been gone 50 years on February 3, 2009. I can still remember that day when we lost Buddy, Ritchie Valens and the big, fat man, The Big Bopper.

  • My personal feelings on Bobby Vee, is that somehow, God ordained him in some way to somehow follow in Buddy's footsetps, but also develope his own career. It's almost "written in the cards" so to speak, by the chain of events, that followed Buddy's early demise, etc. I'd like Bobby Vee, even if he didn't cover Buddys gig immediatly after his death. Marc Trainor.

  • Bobby Vee got his big break on the night of 02/03/59 he was added in the Morehead Min. Show

Then Bobby Vee Carole King Made History.

    Thank you Bobby and Carole

  • These lyrics are great, all Holly songs, very catchy and ive never heard this before! Brilliant.

  • I remember this from Bobby's excellent tribute album to Buddy, "I Remember Buddy Holly". A few of Buddy's songs were first introduced to me through that album. In 1998 I did my own tribute song to Buddy called, "Hey Buddy Can You Spare a Song."

  • er...senior moment... that was 1996.

  • Looks like this was from the British tv show called "Ready, steady, GO!" Odd being surrounded by all of those dancers.

  • So what the Hell was Jerry Lee Lewis on about when he said "the charts are full of Bobbies"?

Was this an uncalled for poke at Bobby Rydell and Bobby Vee-both of whom have conducted their lives better than him.

Who else was there? Bobby Darin and one hit wonder Bobby Curtola?

Thing is Bobby Vee is of a much higher standard than ever Lewis could hope for.

  • Bobby Vinton was also popular around the same time ...

  • Jerry Lee Lewis was a great talent, whatever you think of his personal life. The "Bobbies", along with the Frankies and Tommies, were creations of the record companies, trying to cash in on music they didn't understand, with singers they could control, unlike the true originators of rock and roll, like Jerry Lee.

  • can't you people quit bickering and just enjoy the opportunity to see someone from the past as they were singing the songs we all love? Jerry Lee Lewis is not a god, but neither is Bobby Vee, the latter being thrown into stardom by showing respect and honor at a young age to one of the greatest who died so young

  • I agree with you, we are not here to criticise, but to enjoy the music. I'm not a great Jerry Lee fan but he did do some really good stuff. I've seen Bobby Vee twice, terrific show, and he tells his story well. He was, and still is, a Buddy Holly fan, and a great performer in his own right.

  • You are so right about the Bobbies, Tommies

and Frankies! How do they dare to compare

their lifes with the greatest living Legend

around called Jerry Lee who's still doing

    concerts, CD's & wonderful DVDs.

  • Do you mean the Jerry Lee who married his second wife before he was divorced from his first wife, then divorced his second wife and married his 13 year old cousin when he was 23 ? I must agree. How DARE those people compare their lives to his? But I don't think you have to worry about that. I really don't think they would.

  • Just got back from Branson where the Crickets were doing a show at the American Bandstabd Theater and Bobby Vee came out at their show and did a few songs with them. Talk about a thrill to see these guys perform together!

  • thks a bunch great video/great song

  • Bobby Vee filled in for Buddy Holley on the tragic day in 1959. Thats why Bobby does alot of Buddy's songs.

  • nice post.... buddy's mom (mrs. holley) got the song writing credit on this one.

  • A tribute to the real master..well done Bobby
