  • Can I get a the patch for this???

  • Not bad. Just sounds synthetic or fake. Tube amps are the way to go. My ear is just used to tube amps for good reason, they just sound better. Digital stuff always just sounds..... how do I put it??? DIGITAL. They still have a long way to go to get a real tube amp sound from a little box, but they are getting better.

  • Very 80's sounding lead bro!

Check out some of my vids, I tried dialing in some metal tones on my axe fx too

  • Man that is beautiful man. Not too much gain either I love reverb with hi gain and the Axe-Fx nails it. By the way I used to watch ur vids back in 08 man you look alot healthier younger these days my friend God Bless.

  • @danbenkert Yep, I love the Axefx more each day. It truly is an amazing piece of technology and inspires me every time I play. Appreciate the nice words. I've lost 55 lbs and kept it off for 3 years by eating healthier and being consistent about exercising. I feel as good now as I did at 30 (15 years ago). Being overweight is a KILLER on your body and mind.

  • TOO MUCH GAIN???? NO FUCKING WAY! THIS SOUNDS SICK!!!

  • What else is in the signal chain?

  • Too much gain?! NOT POSSIBLE!!!

  • What's your signal path?

  • I love how so many people are like OMG TO MUCH GAIN....Ye...He states that pretty clearly in the description so way to point out the obvious Einsteins.

Personally I think that's a pretty knarley tone, guitar isn't all about clarity sometimes over the top fuzz can sound great!

  • Hmmm wayyyyy to muddy. All of these people that think there is clarity in this need to pay a visit to the ENT doctor.

  • Sounds Very Van Halen Like :)

  • @osirissam thank you. that's he ultimate compliment for me...I love me some evh!

  • Beatiful guitar dude! what´s the model? :)

  • @SRcRasher Thanks. That is the music rising les paul that the edge and gibson out out to help hurricane katrina musicians. My wife got it for me for valentines day a couple years ago...that woman rules! Killer guitar that I loaded with actives and an emg mid booster to make into a monster of heaviness. I should really redo a new heavy video as I've dialed in the axefx much better now, a year later.

  • Axe 2 is coming.

  • OK, I should be on the axe fx forum but I got this patch downloaded but how the hell do I get it into my axe ultra? I upgraded from 10.05 to 11 fw but just need a little help, a little new to the edit software. This patch rules btw. Thanks in advance if you can help.

  • Tons of gain and tons of verb = The Anti Clarity

  • @TriviumCrusader17 Don't even heard reverb, only delay

  • That's tone on steroids!

  • @emosucks89 Thanks. The axefx amazes me even more, 1 year later.

  • Yes it's not "too much gain" it's just a "gainy" sound which sounds very lively and responsive.

    I like I like

  • that sound is awesome!

  • Actually, it sounds AMAZING

  • @TheErnestoVidales Thanks...the axefx rules.

  • very cool tone

  • Would you mind sharing thar preset bud?

  • How in the HELL can you tap those harmonics like that???

  • how about you post that patch so I can dload it? I really like it and it's a great 1st patch.

  • @dwg116 I posted it on the fractal site a while ago. Just search for posts by my username of fatandugly on there.

  • @99voltsdotcom thanks man!

  • That's the George Lynch - Back For The Attack sound.

  • @YoDudeRock Lynch, one of my favorites.

  • @YoDudeRock

Well the AXFX seems like an unbeatable choice off any kind..... !

  • more gain please...seriously

  • You are seriously my inspiration for the guitar sound for my band. (I own a rectifier, eclipse, and a h&k tubefactor). In any case I'll end up buying an axe fx soon. Thanks for all the awesome videos and demos.

  • @sicembuster Thanks! The Axe is really an amazing piece of equipment. I need to do some more vids as this was the first patch I was really happy with and this was about a year ago. I have it dialed in a lot better now with a nice wide range of great sounding patches. I am thrilled with the axe...I finally hear the tone in my head coming out of my speakers.

  • lol ballsy as fuck but nice chops bro!

  • SICK, SICK, SICK !!!!!

  • hahaha more pinch harmonics!

  • how did u record this? plug guitar into the axefx and then what?

Just curious and a bit new to recording

  • @Metal4Life007 axe into pro tools with no effects or eq added other than the axefx. then I just synched the audio file with the video file.

  • @99voltsdotcom

how does it connect to pro tools? usb?

  • @Metal4Life007 regular 1/4" cables...no usb on axefx :(

  • Man you're killing me! Sounds GREAT!!!!!!!!!!

  • @Peelick Thanks! The axefx is simply incredible...this was my fist patch that I was happy with. I have a bunch more dialed in now. I need to do some more vids with the new tones.

  • @99voltsdotcomSo heavy and clear, great balance of low end and highs. GREAT SOUND ONE OF THE BEST

  • to much delay more like it

  • ahb-2 ARE SHIT... ahb-1 are awesome... do NOT buy Blackout Metal.. omg they are horrible..

  • Rhythm + verb = neinnnnn. In my opinion of course haha. But now I see you didn't intend on playing much rhythm anyway!

  • What model of the blackouts do you have? AHB-1?

  • @eclipse504 yes.

  • what is your sound card?... can you update the axe fx with ?

  • @EMGXX84 I use a macbook pro with a m-audio midisport 2x2 anniversary edition running on a usb port to run the axedit software.

  • now thats not too much gain at all. it still retains the note clarity. I liike it a lot!

  • @dwg116 I agree. I really like heavy tone like this.

  • @dwg116 yes

  • great heavy sound i really really like this tone

  • @vocessaochatos thanks. the axe is just great. about the only piece of gear I like better after almost a year now.

  • Sounds like a Line 6 Spider

  • @ZeppelinRules Trust me, sounds nothing like a line 6 spider in person. Has huge, beautiful tone.

  • Nice!!

  • do active pickups make a difference with these?

  • @nblax41 yes. Just like a regular amp, it makes everything heavier. They really make the axe sound huge on heavy gain stuff. i should really do some new videos with the axe now that i have it kinda dialed in. this was my first patch that I was happy with after about 4 weeks and I think my patches sound way better now that I have almost a year of experience with the unit. I'm not a big tweaker with gear, but with the axe it is a must. Almost too much to tweak really.

  • @99voltsdotcom

That isn't to say passive pickups can't do the same thing. Bareknuckle pickups would be just as good if not better.

  • SICK TONE DUDE!!

  • @hman7419 thanks. the axefx is amazing.

  • This would be killer tuned down low with no delay, get some real heavy shit goin

  • Just curious. Have you posted this on the fractal forum? I would love to try it out.

  • Just curious. Have you posted this on the fractal forum? I would love to try it out.

  • @maxwarpguitar i have. I'll have to look and see what's called on there and point you to it.

  • I have a few questions:

How much did your AxeFX cost?

    Where did you buy it?

What other interfaces or softwares are needed to... well basically do what you did here? (Make a video and record and all.)

  • @disfigured75 2K. they are only available direct from fractal audio. the sound is axefx only. I ran it into pro tools just so I could plug in my (2) 1/4" outs from the axefx, then ran a headphone out feed from the computer into my video camera. I edited the video in apple final cut. This was all done for ease of making the video...no processing of the audio was done at all. This is exactly what the axe sounds like direct into your daw. AMAZING piece of equipment.

  • @99voltsdotcom hi i might buy an AxeFx, but was wondering how would this go through pro tools? do you run it as a plug in like if you were running Reason? or how, plz respond thnx :)

  • c'est le bordel dans le son :/

  • Have you tried this baby at a live gig yet? Would you know if there is a big diff between the ultra and the other model?

  • awesome, too much gain? no way..

  • GO EDDIE VAN HALEN

  • tune lower and it will sound even better

  • Not too much gain...you can never have that. However, too much delay. I dig the heavy tones with chorus and a touch of reverb (to open it up a bit), but generally avoid delay on heavy distortion. That's just me though.

  • absolutely GORGEOUS!

    the tone, that is.

  • @907guitaristbikerguy Agreed...the axe makes life so much easier. To hear someone who is truly mastering the possibilities of this thing check out some of devin townsend's vids. HUGE, perfect tone and talent out the wazoo.

  • very, very, very... and very good f**** tone!! i will have mind this friday! ;)

but one question for you; how do you use to play in real time?... a web cam?...program?... plz tell me the secret! hahaha do more video dude! that's really impressive!

  • @EMGXX84 I plugged the outs from the axe into my video camera. Canon HF200.

  • awsome! we all love the mass amounts of gain haha

  • mind me asking how much one of these babies run for??

  • @The6Music6Man 2K...worth every penny. My recording tone os the best I've ever had in 30 years.

  • What amps are you supposed to be running on that preset dude?

  • @ivansandoval777 that is the diezel.

  • WHAT THE FUCK O.o did i seriously just hear that?

  • great hi-gain sound !!!!!!!!!!!

  • @thunderingrick thanks

  • the Axe-fx is something unreal, i love it! Must buy it, some day...

  • I CANT WAIT TO GET ONE! FFS this is terrible GAS and I'm only making it worse by watching sweet videos like this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @BornIntoMusic it really is amazing and exceeds the hype. VERY tough to learn to get great tones out of, but when you figure what tweaks work for you then the results just tumble out. It's paid for itself...I sold my mesa roadster combo and 2 pieces of outboard gear because I use the axe exclusively now. I really need to do some more vids of my tones. this is the first patch I was ever happy with and that was 7 months ago. got a lot more now.

  • Not necessarily too much gain, maybe with the delay, but needs more mids to be clear with this much

  • How much did you pay for this and where did you get it from if you don't mind me asking

  • @Fear3001 2k. they are only available direct through the fractal audio or you can find a used one on ebay for just a hair cheaper than new.

  • It is kind of surprising with the amount of articulation with that much gain...

  • @1Batt i know...the axe is fun to play through.

  • Sounds heavy and ballsy...doesnt sound like a tube amp at all though.

  • playing reminds me alot of devin townsend

  • @fortysicsand2 thanks man! i wish i could play anywhere in his league...amazing musician. when saw him when he toured with vai i didn't even know he played guitar and was blown away when he started doing unison shred lines with steve. the guy is just a ridiculous talent.

  • FUCKING HEAVY!!!!!!

  • Yeah dude I like the big gain too but my ears ring now from all the years of it..LOL

  • @1Batt i hear ya (pun intended.) seems like my main answer to my wife these days is, what did you say?

  • i can hear a constant hiss, is that coming from the axe fx, or is it a camera's recording quality issue..? it's really prominent.

  • @kabirnagranee axe is totally quiet so it must be the camer in if you hear anything.

  • @99voltsdotcom thanks..!

  • @kabirnagranee It's your speakers. I'm playing through KRK Rokit 5 Monitors.. Dead silent.

  • @LegoBen thanks man.

  • @kabirnagranee its called delay, noob

  • @drenzium i'm hearing a hiss, and you're telling me it's a delay..???? are you knew to the electric guitar my 'noob' friend. you don't know the difference between a delay and a hiss..????

  • @kabirnagranee the hiss you think you're hearing while he is playing, is just his high gain signal distorting on itself as repeats from his delay stack on top of each other. learn english and then try to insult me, get back on the boat.

  • @drenzium wow. if only you were my english and guitar teacher. i still don't know what this has got to do with english though, but as far as the delay is concerned, i know what you're saying, and it's not that. i can hear a constant hiss, like a noise frequency in the higher registers. even the guy who's made the video has said it could be the cam or my speakers. since you're not hearing what i'm hearing, leave me on my boat, and go jump.

  • @drenzium hey man, sorry if you thought i was rude. didn't intent it, guess i got a lil carried away. it doesn't matter, i'm not buying one anyway..! :)

  • what guitar is that

  • @Fear3001 Epiphone music rising les paul with duncan blackouts.

  • Whats that amp modulation? ENGL?

  • @ivansandoval777 Diezel

  • very cool! you can play! keep it up man!!

  • @christopherzberlin thanks brother!

  • Not enough gain, too much delay.

  • Never too much gain, Love the tone, great playing too.

    What patch is this?

    Mark

  • @samhillband thanks mark! it is one from the patch exchange that i edited and tweaked pretty heavily to work with my tone and playing. I'll try and remember to upload it and i'll send you the name when I do so you can check it out. have enjoyed your vids, playing and patches as well. in fact you were one of the first ones that made me aware of the axe.

  • @samhillband I think i was able to upload it to bank j # 1157 on the axe-change. I can never tell if it works so let me know if it's not on there. it's frfr for a pair of qsc k12's.

  • This is a really good demo of the AxeFX. This clip sounds a lot like my 6505+. If I keep hearing good things from this unit, I am going to have to go out and get one. Nice job.

  • @dlowrie290 its a killer unit with a STEEP learning curve. direct recording tones are easy, amplified tones are not. Had to get a frfr setup to get a live tone I was happy with.

  • pfft...that's like saying 'too much love' - beautiful vid...keep sharing the 'love' ;)

  • i love your playing what are your amp settings

and wut type of guitar? :)

  • @MariosGuy thx. i'm trying to figure out how to upload the patch to fractals site. i'll let you know when i do.

  • @MariosGuy I think i was able to upload it to bank j # 1157 on the axe-change. I can never tell if it works so let me know if it's not on there. it's frfr for a pair of qsc k12's.

  • i love how your gear is from 2010 but your computer looks like its from 98 haha.

  • @thricegod1288 good eyes...that pc is from 1998/99. it's my dedicated pro tools rig...no need to change it as it still works great although it is a huge beast.

  • personally i think it needs more gain. im talking crankin a framus cobra to 11 and boosting it with a maxon.

  • i got the same Epi,Mick3b1g has it now i see you comment on his vids @times.yours is a metal monster rock on

  • @neobx2 yeah great guitar. i have several les paul type guitars so i though i would mod this one out for maximum destruction. i'm not really a metal player but i do love heavy tones like petrucci and mark tremonti.

  • Your a great player!

An amateur would have mad this much gain sound shit, but your have toneful fingers i believe.

  • thanks. i love playing with heavy gain so I've developed some muting stuff that kinda works for me. the axe's noise gate is awesome too so that helps.

  • Thats not too much gain, its perfect xD
