But like Sox, he never seemed to show me how much pain he was in, like he was supporting me cuz he knew i would break at any moment. however Diesel had a full recovery and we r back to eventing but this video really makes me realize just how lucky i am to have him. im so sorry for your loss =[
wow girl, I totally understand your feelings... I had a horse echo that was such a cutie! he would never give up, even when he cut his eye and leg... but then one day... he broke his coffin bone... We had to put him down whnen he was 8
This was a really hard video to watch and it took all my strength not to cry. That didn't work. The way that you talk about this horse shows the love you had still have for him.

I very rarely cry, but this on made me, I'm SO sorry! Navicular is a wicked diesease, none of my horses, Thank You God, have had it, but I know horses that do. We had to put down our old mare(30) and I was sad, but I was happy for her, she's in heaven, with plenty of grass, playing with her friends, and I'm sure, Sox! I'm SO sorry about Sox, I hope you can be happy for him, and stay close to God.

After reading your description and watching your video, I actually started crying right here at work. I just have to tell you, you did the right thing! You are an amazing young woman and I'm sure your parents are so proud of you. I dont think i have cried this hard ever. I feel like I have lost my own horse after reading this. One of my friends just lost her horse on Saturday. He died int eh field of bleeding to death. I am so thankful that I have a horse, my best friend, to go to everyday to hug when I'm upset. Sox's story really made me think what I would do if I didnt have my horse. I think I would be depressed for many years. The only person(in my mind) I can talk to about anything. I love you Freedom and Shy<3

OMG THAT WAS THE MOST SADDEST VIDEO EVER!!! I wents when threw half a box of tissues!!! I had maybe one or two tears when it was the part where Sox lyes his head on your lap, but when I read the discription I couldn't stop crying, the tears kept on rolling in on after another!!! Unfortanatly I could not put my feet in your shoes because I've never put down a horse I don't even have one, and never had one I'm hoping for on soon though! This is the one problem with owning a horse, they always pass away.
But they give you memories that las forever but, still remember he loved you with all his heart otherwise, he would have passed away sooner.

When you said he's so damn happy it reminded me a lot of when I was standing with my horse in the pasture, just me and him because my trainer and dad went to go get him bute, he did not act like he was in pain in the least. He was himself, pushing me around looking for cookies. And I was already crying but when he nudged me and I turned around he was begging, like nothing was different and that's when I lost it. It's never easy RIP

I feel for you. I have had exactly the same thing happen to me only 2 months ago with my horse, Rosie. Something happened on the morning of that terrible day that caused her to colic and become cast. It was severe colic which turned her bowels black. I will never forget her and her cheeky ways as she was one heck of a character. My heart aches for you. You and Sox were incredible. I followed your videos from when you first got him until the end, and you can see that your bond was unreplacable. One of my friends just had to put her horse down because he broke his leg in turnout. Nothing hurts worse than having to make the call to put your best friend down. Oh my gosh, this made me cry. I know how you feel. We had to put my horse Domino down, because the vet said he would have froze to death in the cold after he collapsed. I refused to leave, and watched them. My horse Ginger, who I still have, tried to break into the pasture to be with her buddy in his final moments. I could barely keep the tears from falling. I hope he is in a happy place.

im so sorry about your horse, losing your horse is the hardest thing, i had to put down my shetland pony in october and making the decision of putting them down is so hard. even when you know it's the right thing to do.

i really don't think I can say anything other than just to hang in there. It is so hard, and I don't think I could possibly relate to what your feeling. I had to put down a horse in october and it was extremely hard for me, but watching all of your videos with him and the bond you had with him, has to be really hard. & let me tell you I was crying. I dread the day that I will have to put my bestfriend of 10 yrs down. He too has (hard to explain) serious feet issues which includes wearing away his bones and such. He is a fighter as well, never taking a sour step for me way past what the vet said would make a horse lame. So here's to the fighters, the horses with hearts bigger than their bodies.

I am so sorry for your loss... I was 12 when i first had one of my pts... My mums mare i held because no one else could hold her and mum couldnt cope.. the 24days later my mare gave up the will to live and i had to hold her whilst she was put to sleep, then two years ago we had a seriously ill gelding... And im telling you the truth... its a HORRIBLE thing to watch, because it just seems like they fall asleep. But you will meet him again, you will be together again.

I very rarely cry, but this on made me, I'm SO sorry! Navicular is a wicked diesease, none of my horses, Thank You God, have had it, but I know horses that do. We had to put down our old mare(30) and I was sad, but I was happy for her, she's in heaven, with plenty of grass, playing with her friends, and I'm sure, Sox! I'm SO sorry about Sox, I hope you can be happy for him, and stay close to God.

Wow this makes me really think about my barrel and pole bending horse after a car accident. Seeing your video makes me wish I could go back and get more video of him insted of just compition videos. Or even picture. He was a great lookin horse though thats for sure!

But what I really wanted to say is that I have worked in a lot of horse rescues. I have seen horses come through that have been starved, beaten, tortured, you name it...I've seen it. It's absolutely wonderful to finally see somebody who loves their horse as much as you do. Sox was one lucky guy for having you! I only wish that every horse could be so loved. Too many out there never know what it's like to have full bellies and kisses...but yours did, and I'm sure he is eternally grateful.

After reading your description and watching your video, I actually started crying right here at work. I just have to tell you, you did the right thing! You are an amazing young woman and I'm sure your parents are so proud of you. I have worked with horses for a long time, and I have seen many pass away..but I couldn't yet imagine letting go of my horse, thought I know it's coming soon. I dont think i have cried this hard ever. I feel like I have lost my own horse after reading this. One of my friends just lost her horse on Saturday. He died int eh field of bleeding to death. I am so thankful that I have a horse, my best friend, to go to everyday to hug when I'm upset. Sox's story really made me think what I would do if I didnt have my horse. I think I would be depressed for many years. The only person(in my mind) I can talk to about anything. I love you Freedom and Shy<3

OMG THAT WAS THE MOST SADDEST VIDEO EVER!!! I wents when threw half a box of tissues!!! I had maybe one or two tears when it was the part where Sox lyes his head on your lap, but when I read the discription I couldn't stop crying, the tears kept on rolling in on after another!!! Unfortanatly I could not put my feet in your shoes because I've never put down a horse I don't even have one, and never had one I'm hoping for on soon though! I'm sure Sox is in a safe place with open paddocks R.I.P SOX

This is the one problem with owning a horse, they always pass away.
But they give you memories that las forever but, still remember he loved you with all his heart otherwise, he would have passed away sooner.
He's in a better place now watching over you, waiting for you so you can be together again, riding in heaven. He stayed strong so you can have the best memories together. And, remember you will be together again in heaven someday. Always keep Sox in your heart & remember him

When you said he's so damn happy it reminded me a lot of when I was standing with my horse in the pasture, just me and him because my trainer and dad went to go get him bute, he did not act like he was in pain in the least. He was himself, pushing me around looking for cookies. And I was already crying but when he nudged me and I turned around he was begging, like nothing was different and that's when I lost it. so, the first time i had ever heard of you and Sox was whilst watching your video with the song "dream" in it. I fell inlove with Sox that day, and it remains one of my favourite videos. I just saw this, and i cried. what an amazing horse. loving, generous, careful, beautiful! I know i never got the chance to meet him, but if i ever bump into him in heaven, a long way down the track, I'll give him a big hug for you! im so so so sorry to hear this terrible news. may he gallop with the angels <3

I feel for you. I have had exactly the same thing happen to me only 2 months ago with my horse, Rosie. Something happened on the morning of that terrible day that caused her to colic and become cast. It was severe colic which turned her bowels black. I will never forget her and her cheeky ways as she was one heck of a character. My heart aches for you. You and Sox were incredible. I followed your videos from when you first got him until the end, and you can see that your bond was unreplacable. One of my friends just had to put her horse down because he broke his leg in turnout. Nothing hurts worse than having to make the call to put your best friend down. My horse means the absolute world to me, and I cannot even imagine what this must have been for you. Sox will always be there for you, and you will see him again.

Yes, i cried. Losing a pet, weather they go to heaven or to a new home, is always hard. He was a stuning horse, so beautiful! Oh my gosh, this made me cry. I know how you feel. We had to put my horse Domino down, because the vet said he would have froze to death in the cold after he collapsed. I refused to leave, and watched them. My horse Ginger, who I still have, tried to break into the pasture to be with her buddy in his final moments. I could barely keep the tears from falling. I hope he is in a happy place.

I've never cried after seeing a video on youtube, but after watching this and reading your description I could not keep from crying. You are one strong girl I would have never been able to go through what you have been, hell I could barely let my horse be sold. I surely think that Sox is in a good place and that you were probably the best thing that could happen for him. im so sorry about your horse, losing your horse is the hardest thing, i had to put down my shetland pony in october and making the decision of putting them down is so hard. even when you know it's the right thing to do.

i really don't think I can say anything other than just to hang in there. It is so hard, and I don't think I could possibly relate to what your feeling. I had to put down a horse in october and it was extremely hard for me, but watching all of your videos with him and the bond you had with him, has to be really hard. It'll all be okay, because you know someday you will reunite together with him with God.

I am so sorry for your loss! I too had to make the decision at 17 to put down my horse and it was such a hard one to make but was for sure the right one.

This is the first of your videos that I have.
& let me tell you I was crying. I dread the day that I will have to put my bestfriend of 10 yrs down. He too has (hard to explain) serious feet issues which includes wearing away his bones and such. He is a fighter as well, never taking a sour step for me way past what the vet said would make a horse lame. So here's to the fighters, the horses with hearts bigger than their bodies.

I haven't seen your videos before but read the description of this one (and cried) then watched the vid and it's so lovely, I can only imagine how hard this must be for you, he was a beautiful horse and it looks like you two had some amazing times together! I'm really sorry for your loss, but if anyone's in heaven, Sox is :) xxx

omg i really cryed reading this and watching the video. i've been always following sox progress all along and i'm so sorry for your loss. i know how it feels to loose a horse and how hard it can be, because ofcourse they are no "just horses" they are a lot more than that.
just know that all of us are here supporting you and never give up.
My mom always says: Those loved ones who leave us go to heaven to be able to watch over us.

I too, like all teh other 2500 susucribers have followed your Sox's story. The power of his heart and your strength has inspired me, and im certain others aswell. Idk what to say b/c i've never felt the pain that you're going through. Im sorry for you and your family's loss. I am so sorry for your loss... I was 12 when i first had one of my pts... My mums mare i held because no one else could hold her and mum couldnt cope.. the 24days later my mare gave up the will to live and i had to hold her whilst she was put to sleep, then two years ago we had a seriously ill gelding... And im telling you the truth... its a HORRIBLE thing to watch, because it just seems like they fall asleep. But you will meet him again, you will be together again.

Oh Olivia, I can't tell you how sorry I am for your loss. I have yet to have to experience losing a horse, but have come very close and that alone tore me apart. I cant imagine how hard the last 24 hrs, and even the last yr leading up to yesterday must have been. I am always impressed with your videos but this one is very well put together and really moving to watch, a true tribute to a truly great horse. Many prayers for you and your family, rest in peace Sox.

I wish I could offer words of comfort. But you're strong. No matter what people tell you or try to advise you're going to deal with this in your own way. I can only hope you think of him and you smile and never cry too much from the loss, because I hope you remember the wonderful times with him. This is such an incredible story of a very gifted friendship between you and your horse. Its just sad to understand that you have lost something that means the world to you because no one should go through it but we all do. I am so so sorry for your loss. We can all see that you and Sox share such a special unique bond. It is so difficult when we loose any animal expecially when it is our own. Keep your chin up kid the heartache never stops but the pain will ease in time. You will never forget him and he will never forget you. I'm sure he is your animal angel watching over you every step of the way.
